So pleased we booked this lovely, family run hotel. A great escape from the crowds and right near the castle which allowed us to visit when cooler and less busy. The owners were friendly and gave us some great local tips which really helped us enjoy our time in Prague and allowed us to see some areas away from the tourist traps. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Easily reached by tram from the main station.

If stairs are an issue or you want Netflix then maybe the House at the Big Boot is not for you. Otherwise just book it, you won't be disappointed. All the staff are wonderfully warm and helpful. Where else, on arrival, have you ever sat on a sofa with a cup of tea or coffee and be given advice about what to do and see in a city? Laura I will always remember that. The location is fantastic - away from the crowds but a short walk to the Charles bridge, breakfasts are lovely as are the rooms. Don't hesitate - book it.

The owners and staff here is very nice and helpful, since there is no elevator they offer to take your luggage to your room as soon as you complete the check-in. The building itself has a lot of history, some of which you can even see in the rooms. If you are interested in knowing more about it, yet again, ask the staff and they will give you a very great explanation and tell you what, when and how happened. The prices are good and I cannot recommend the chefs breakfast scrambled eggs enough!

I chose this property based on the reviews that said it was very hospitable and quiet. In both cases this proved spot on. I received a warm welcome and a much appreciated drink. My room was spacious and furnished as to be comfortable with its own character. I had come from Vienna where my hotel room had a safe, fridge, tv and tea making facilities. Whilst my room here had none of those features, the hotel is situated in a very safe area of the city, there is a fridge in the reception area that provides cold drinks on a honesty basis at very reasonable prices and you have access to the kitchen to make tea/coffee for free. Breakfast was very well organised and offered a good selection of goodies to meet most people's tastes, including made to order eggs and bacon. The family run hotel offers a more personal experience that makes you feel valued. I appreciated the helpful communication before my arrival and the airport taxi that was arranged on my departure. In total, a very pleasurable experience.

This is a family hotel where all the staff want to ensure you have the best stay. They go out of there way to help. Nothing was any trouble and the communication from Australia from enquiry to booking was excellent. |Our room had a lovely view of the garden. You can walk to everything. We used their driver for pickup and it was very reasonable priced. Highly recommend the restaurant around the corner called Tast a bit expensive but worth every penny. Food was next level.

The family that runs this beautiful, quaint hotel were warm and generously kindhearted. It is their intent that you have a lovely stay and they will do what they can! The hotel is in a great location, with a fantastic restaurant right around the corner, just a few steps away named Tast. The breakfast had multiple choices with the owner Jan making fantastic eggs! Jakub, Laura, and Daniel were always ready to meet your need. Also, if you like a good conversation, this is the place!

This was the first our two hotels in Prague over Christmas. This is a gem of a family run hotel in the Mala Strana area. The rooms are furnished with antiques. The location is great to explore the castle and surrounding area. ||Upon check in we were given a round down of the area by the lovely Laura. This was a great start to our stay and helped to orientate us. She also|Provided recommendations of restaurants and cafes in the area and when best to visit the castle and how to get there.||The breakfast was simple but filling and the jam and local pate were great. ||On check out we were also treated to the best homemade egg nog. So|Delicious. If you are looking for a quiet family run hotel in a quiet street then do not hesitate to stay here.

Excellent small hotel in a quiet part of the city, only 5-10 minutes walking from the centre. Wonderful, friendly staff, incredible cooked-to-order breakfasts. Would not hesitate to book again!

Yelp
We chose to book at Hotel at the Big Boot for many reasons, not just the interesting name alone. The hotel is located in the Mala Strana district of Prague, just across the street from the German Embassy. It's housed in a 17th century home that spans several floors of rooms, offering all the old world charm you'd expect with lots of modern conveniences tossed in. The owner/operators and their staff are extremely friendly and exceedingly helpful. They arranged for a car to pick us up at the airport to relieve the pressure of navigating cabs in a foreign language within minutes of arrival. Upon arrival, we were welcomed, checked in and escorted to our amazing room within minutes. The room featured two windows surrounded by vines and flowers that opened to overlook the square below and the German Embassy. The furniture was older, but extremely comfortable. The bathroom was refurbished with modern fixtures, including a nice glass shower and rain shower head. Breakfast each morning was an informal affair with the staff spending time with each guest. The offerings included cereals, pastries and other items on the table, as well as cooked-to-order eggs and breakfast meats. There was lots of coffee and juice as well. Overall, a wonderful breakfast option until we learned our way around. The staff helped with tour bookings, cabs, restaurant recommendations and reservations and even some cultural conversation over a glass of wine on a cold, rainy night. When we were ready to depart, they arranged for a car to take us to the train station and offered water and fruit for the trip. We can only categorize our stay at House at the Big Boot as wonderful and would recommend this hotel to anyone without reservations.
