Absolutely wonderful! A must and a true delight.
The palazzo itself is quite stunning, with its facade, its elliptic spiral staircase and the trompe l'oeil ceiling in the museum lobby, to mention just a few of its details.
This museum has just become one of my favourites, similar in some ways to the Peggy Guggenheim musem in Venezia.
The artwork is from the stunningly refreshing and eclectic collection of Luigi Carlon.
What made this museum so remarkable and meaningful for both my husband and myself, was the orginality of the curation, executed superlatively by Gabriella Belli. Juxtaposing modern with antique works so that the dialogue between them was just beyond audible - for example, Giorgio de Chirico's Gladiators with an ancient warrior's helmet alongside. On side tables, fanciful arrangements of objects from widely differing eras and styles that must converse when the museum closes, like the toys in Tom Thumb and Toy Story.
This museum made our last day in Verona memorable, made the modern Piazza Erbe sing with images from its storied past. I'm lucky that my phone battery died when I'd already taken pictures of everything!
