House of Hungarian Palinka

Bought two palinka recommended by the lady and even though there was a small language barrier, Premium is the buzz word for getting a really good palinka home. Also, bought a small sample gift box for a friend.

Very friendly woman helped me and gave me recommendations as well as some background information about Palinka distillation. Definitely recommended if you want to bring some bottles back home.

On January 27, 2020, I visited the Budapest, Rakoczi Street 17 House of Hungarian Palinka, and I had a wonderful experience. The lady in charge, Adrienn, has helped me a great deal with exceptionally detailed knowledge, and in addition, very professional search for further internet information, in order to find a most suitable present to a Japanese colleague of mine, one I shall visit in early February at Kyoto University. Yes, with the Hungarian special drinks, so well represented by the House of Hungarian Palinka, there is definitely great Hungarian competition with the most excellent variants of Japanese Sake .... but, I am also sure, that this time there will not be any complaining about this, only appreciation from my Japanese friends. With the wonderful service and help from the House of Hungarian Palinka, the gift now I am able to take with me for this trip to Japan will definitely add, at least some contribution, to the already highly positive appreciation of Hungary in Japan. Here you can find countless types of palinka. Also glasses and ones with beautiful package. One of the girls can speak English. Great place for buying souvenir.

Over expensive shop. No bottles cheaper than €100 / liter, insane prices. No tasting. Go to the market or auchan instead.

Overwhelming selection of palinka! Saleslady couldn't speak English but was still really friendly and immensely helpful.
