Why This Underrated Region of Argentina Deserves More Attention, According to a Travel Advisor

"An intimate boutique property located a short drive from downtown Salta, featuring just 14 elegant rooms and suites, a spa and an outdoor pool; its on-site, acclaimed restaurant focuses exclusively on traditional northern Argentine dishes—tamales among them—making it a refined base for exploring the region." - Carola Fresno

House of Jasmines

"Most romantic hotel ever: House of Jasmines, in Salta. Everything smells deliciously of, yes, flowering jasmine, and there are roses in every room." H.Y."

I could unfortunately hear the other couples baby crying in the room next to me while having booked a suite.. for the rest all is good. It’s safe and secure . The small houses are a walk to the main building but it has a peaceful view

Delightful location with lovely grounds.|We spent two nights - great food at all meals.|Rooms in the main house are in a historic building so are small (difficult to lay out 2 suitcases), but had period charm.|Spending time with a family of burrowing owls was an absolute highlight. The rest of the walk to the river was good for birding.|Very nice pool - clean and warm.|A very relaxing couple of days - thank you.

Located in extensive grounds in the outskirts of Salta, this is a peaceful oasis rich in birdlife. The hotel building is a converted estancia - our room was small but well equipped and oozing period charm. Restaurant is good, wine list is excellent and affordable. Lots of places to visit in the region, otherwise great place to be lazy.

We spent two nights (across a week) here as our base in Salta. It is a lovely hotel, with a nice swimming pool (although a little full of dead bugs!), a great restaurant (we had the big lamb shank both times - it was exceptional!) and lovely staff in lovely gardens. We stayed in a suite both times, opposite the main hotel and the room was lovely - with the most amazing beds!! ||They also kept our bags when we went exploring for a few nights in Salta. A lovely hotel we would highly recommend!

Overall, this is a great and peaceful place to stay, with exceptional attention from the staff. There were some small areas for improvement, but the experience was very pleasant. Pros: - We were warmly welcomed with a drink and given a personalised tour of the estate, which set the tone for a wonderful stay. - The staff were consistently attentive, from reception to the restaurant, making us feel well cared for. - A lovely touch: the staff prepared the bed and left complimentary chocolates during our absence in the evening. - A fruit bowl and water were provided in the room, a nice extra. - The estate itself is absolutely charming, with a large garden, horses, a swimming pool, and beautiful common spaces. - Dinner was fantastic, with fresh ingredients sourced from the estate's garden, which made for a memorable meal. Cons: - The rooms are quite small for the price, so it’s something to consider if you’re looking for more space. - The gym was poorly equipped, and the treadmill had a safety issue where the speed would suddenly decrease, which was concerning. - The takeaway breakfast should be packed in sturdier bags. Unfortunately, the bag was wet, causing all the food to fall on the floor. - It's a bit disappointing that the vanilla ice cream was made with vanilla extract rather than real vanilla beans, especially at this type of establishment. - Breakfast could be improved, particularly with better pastries and more variety in the options. Overall, this is a peaceful, charming place with attentive staff and lovely surroundings, though there are a few areas for improvement.

House of Jasmines is a beautiful estancia 15 mins from the charming colonial city of Salta and in a perfect location to explore the surrounding area. Traditional rooms and a wonderful restaurant with staff who really care to make the stay special. We loved the relaxing experience.

House of Jasmines is a very nice place to stay with a beautiful garden. Obviously the French owner family has some experience in decorating Boutique Hotels. Many details could be much better but in general it is cosy and comfortable. Unfortunately, the staff is not trained well enough because there is no consistency. Within two days you get three different salads but it always has the same name. Some employees take care of the fireplaces and others don't. The chairs and cushions at the pool are dirty and there is no service provided. To find some shadow there is also very difficult. What about bigger umbrellas? The cushions on the restaurant terrace are a bit scruffy and the tables should be cleaned more often. The food is very good and the staff is friendly and most of the time attentive. The room doors are terrible because you hear every little noise coming from the corridor. We liked our room although it was quite small and the bathroom could have made a "fresher" impression.|Overall it is a bit too expensive for what it offers but it's a charming oasis to recover from the long day trips.
