I dined here, with a group of friends, on our first day in Cebu. I had high expectations for this place, especially since the restaurant itself is called House of Lechon, but I have to say that the lechon did not meet my expectations. Don't get me wrong, the lechon had the crispy skin (which is nothing but deliciousness), and the meat itself was juicy, but I was hoping that it would have some more flavor on it's own. The dipping sauces are what really gives it its flavor. Put that over rice and you're good to go.
The other dishes we ordered were average. I can't remember everything that we ordered, but it wasn't too impressive. Since my mom is originally from Bichol, and since I'm kinda biased on how it [the dish] should taste, I made sure that I didn't order the Bichol express here. I had Bicol express at another restaurant elsewhere in Visayas and was highly underwhelmed by it. To avoid a repeat of that, I made sure I didn't order it. Looking back at it now, I wouldn't mind trying it if I do dine here again. The halo halo shake, on the other hand, was a nice treat to enjoy with my meal. I still prefer the actual halo halo dessert though.
As with most places in the Philippines, the staff we interacted with were very friendly, polite, and helpful.
Overall, I had a good dining experience here, however I wasn't too impressed with the food. I wouldn't mind giving this restaurant another try though.
