This is a review for Houseboat next to Amstel (as mentioned in this listing for its sister boat Houseboat Little Amstel). ||The location is 15 minutes to just about everything with great non-touristy restaurants, bakeries, and a grocery just around the corner. Amstel Hotel is just across the bridge and has a lovely high tea. The massage bed was a bonus! Very spacious and comfortable, even in the dead of winter we were warm once we understood the excellent heating system. The bathroom is spacious and the shower was roomy with lots of hot water. Big central closet in the hallway with lots of shelves and two hanging areas, which helped keep the rooms tidy. Lots of windows and light with very effective blackout blinds. Two TVs to keep the family happy on a rainy day. Very clean and I believe it was recently painted. The kitchen has a small set of dishes, set of silverware, a few glasses, microwave oven, and spacious clean refrigerator. Having stayed on boats before, this one was quieter and stiller than most, as long as you are not a light sleeper you will have an excellent night's rest. The outdoor decks are amazing and furnished well, and I bet they are beautiful in the spring as there are plants everywhere (we were there over New Years). It was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 2 teens and could even hold an additional 2 people for an additional fee by using a murphy bed in the main living room. Don't hesitate to visit Amsterdam in the winter, bundle up and enjoy the city's light festival and other holiday festivities and know you'll have a cozy place to go home to every night!

Absolutely magical! We stayed in room A and it was perfect. There were blackout blinds and also privacy blinds. Ducks swam right up to us each morning and we enjoyed a nice quiet drink out in the deck watching all the boats go by. The bathroom is small but nice, the shower was great. The digital key system worked very well. It was a great location and I would highly recommend staying here.

Great little hideaway in the most beautiful city..even though it rained 90% of our time there! The only thin the rain stopped was us enjoting the floating balcony! Everything was perfect, bed so comfy and the view...wow! Andrew provided us with all the information we needed to have a great few nights. The houseboat is tiny but has everything you need. Easy access to trams to take you to city and it's so peaceful you would hardly think you were in amsterdam. Takes about 25 minutes to walk into centre but this takes you through alot of squares, with plenty going on. Will definetly be going back in the summer.

Thick smell og mould when we arrived. After looking around we discovered that the houseboat was filled with mould. When we wanted a refund because we had to find another place to stay, they accused us for a no show and never gave us anything.

This houseboat might be the coolest place to stay in Amsterdam. Okay, it's compact... but, it's spotless, with everything you need. It's the location that will make you smile. Right on the water, exceptionally quiet, day and night. An oasis in the city. Communication with Andrew is very good. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else next time I visit the city. First class 👍

The houseboat is everything you could wish for. So cosy with stunning views and very close to local attractions. The beds were super comfortable and the house was spotless throughout. Andrew was very helpful, sending apps and recommendations before we travelled which was really useful when planning our trip. Nothing was too much trouble for him, we can’t thank you enough. We would highly recommended this cute little houseboat.

Cute place. Small interior, but large double aspect windows made feel bright and airy. Found everything we needed. Privacy and black out blinds, comfy bed, shower good. Small fridge and lovely coffee machine and pods which was a very nice addition. Large outside area to enjoy the view up and down the river. It's very close to a main bridge and there is traffic noise, but with the door closed it's quiet enough and had no trouble sleeping. Walkable to nightlife areas, 30 mins, or around 8 minutes to trams/metro station to access sights etc. There is a hot tub outside on a separate deck area. You do have to pay for wood I gather as it's log fire heated. The access to the property is lovely with lots of plants, potting and very bee/bird friendly. Key system for the door is unusual, in that it's locked and unlocked via an app that you have to install. It worked well, but being a bit of a technophobe, if my husband wasn't with me to get it sorted I would have probably found it quite stressful, I'm sure the host would be able to explain though in advance if you needed assistance with it. Will be adding to my selection of places I'd definitely return to if went back to Amsterdam and I would recommend it for a single person or two people (probably a couple, as is cosy inside)

We loved our stay at Little Amstel - Studio A. The studio was clean and very well thought out, with plenty of space and storage for a couple. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the small fridge and coffee pod machine. The view is beautiful both day and night, we spent lots of time sitting on the deck out the front. The location was perfect, a nice walk/bike ride into the city, but far enough away that it was quieter than the hustle and bustle. |Andrew was easy and prompt with communication, and kindly organised bicycles for us at late notice. |Highly recommend Little Amstel.
