Very interesting! I saw the houseboats while on canal cruise and was interested in seeing an interior- this gave me that opportunity! Very spacious and had interesting facts along the tour along with current owner profiles (always want to know more about the owners!). Current houseboats for sale were also listed- a lot more money than you’d guess! Great stop! Robert was very helpful and kind:)

Loved this museum, houseboat presented as it would have been with amazing 60's decor. Doesn't take long but has lots of information and worth a visit

Google
Fun to see this unique museum that represents the many houseboats that provide homes on the canals of Amsterdam. We'll worth a visit.

An awesome time capsule preserved for us to see and experience. One of the more recent journeys the city has to share with the world. You need to experience this when in Amsterdam. Understand the why, it’s awesome. The docent attending the vessel was very knowledgeable and friendly.

It’s very interesting and cool to look at. There’s an audio tour which was really informative. We spent around 15-30 minutes in here.

A museum you don’t want to miss. Easy to locate in a save and open area. If you’ve ever wondered what the inside of a boathouse might look like now is your chance to see one. It also has the coolest decor from the 60s/70s. It was worth the visit.

You will not be disappointed. What a great way to have a sneak peek into the history and lifestyle of Amsterdams houseboats. A lot of attention to detail and very fun.

Yelp
This is a very small, self-guided tour of a houseboat, and tells you a little about its history. It only cost around five euros to get in. You are given an information sheet in your native language and then you go through it. The whole thing took 10-15 minutes to complete. We were looking for a few off-the-beaten path things to do and this was one of them.

Yelp
This is small, but awesome museum that allows guest to learn about the houseboats of Amsterdam. There's is bench that museum guests can relax on people watch. Many books and pictures about houseboat culture are inside the boat, the museum is an actual houseboat. For 5 Euro this is an outstanding value.

Yelp
Interesting museum which could tell you how holland people live on the water in their house. Good history of the different kind of boats and how they become home for people. If you are interesting for buying house boat here you can find some information.

Yelp
For just a pocketful of chump change Euros (3.75 E), you can experience and get a better picture of what it is like to live on a houseboat in Amsterdam. The admission fee is minimal and you may just breeze through it in about 20 minutes, but the the time and money you spend will be well worth it. The boat is bigger than you think and you will be amazed at all the rooms inside. The boat is larger than a few New York apartments. It's also fully functioning with a bathroom and stove. It doesn't sway and everything is hooked up from plumbing to electricity and I'd imagine if still in use- cable! The bedrooms are so tiny, almost coffin like. You have to see it with your own eyes to believe it. Definitely make it a point to stop by the boat and check it out. There is no line (a great relief after spending hours at the Anne Frank house and Old Church) and the inside decor is quite charming. It's so homey! This is a slice of life in Amsterdam. Very unique. Zeer uniek.

Yelp
This was well worth the price! You can actually go on the deck and take a photo for free- you pay once you go downstairs/inside. This museum is not friendly to wheelchair users or others who may be unable to climb up and down a small set of stairs. The boat was much bigger than I expected, and you can even sit down and order a coffee or drink which I was surprised by. Neat place to get a taste for what life is like on a house boat!

Yelp
Good to do if you're curious about living on the canal or about the cost of a house boat. There's a little wall with real estate postings. If not busy, there's a bench on top to enjoy some more.

Yelp
Anyone can go to the art museums (we did that last time), but a houseboat museum? Now, that's unique. It was so cool to see the inside of one of the many houseboats docked along the canals. The price was right, and it only takes about 20 minutes. Definitely worth going.

Yelp
Great value! We really enjoyed seeing the inside of an authentic houseboat. The self-guided tour took about 20 minutes. It was a fun stop on the way to the major sites.
