We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves during our outing with some dear friends. We were seated in the announcer's box. The food was great and the drinks we even better. We sat through a double header as well which was a treat to experience. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Largest Polo Club in the country. Simple yet elevated boxes for viewing. Great company with light appetizers and custom tailored drink menu. What stood out is the class of people the club attracts. Great people = Great times! Family friendly as well with adequate complimentary parking. 10/10 recommend!

We had an amazing time at the Houston Polo Club! Watching the match from our private tent made the whole experience feel extra special. The elevated hors d'oeuvres—fancy little bites packed with flavor were a real treat and added a touch of luxury to the afternoon. But honestly, the highlight was getting to walk the field and stomp the divots. It was such a fun and unique tradition that made us feel like part of the action. We even got to take a picture with one of the horses and a professional poloist, which made the day even more memorable. It was a perfect mix of comfort, great energy, and good vibes.

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed it. Located at the edge of Memorial Park, it is surprisingly large. It was fun to get dressed up and watch the matches. The food was good, and the drinks too. I will definitely be back with friends in the future to enjoy the sport again.

Am extremely well-maintained and well run property. The staff are super efficient and really well trained. The grounds are beautiful and the facilities are great. Nice cocktails and food on order. Watched a polo match - excellent competition, very entertaining, there was live music, divot stomping and champagne in the break

Yelp
Lovely experience attending the Polo Club last week. We were greeted with lovely service! We did not eat here however the staff was very attentive. If you are looking for new things to do in Houston, put this on your list! I was very excited to learn how to play & watch my first game!

Yelp
Excited about the Kentucky Derby Event 2025!! I think will be an awesome way to spend the day with family and friends....

Yelp
This was my first polo match and it was such a fun unique experience. The food is kinda expensive for what it is ($17 + for cocktails & food $9+) but that's expected at these type of events. There's no reserved seating even if you paid for a ticket so getting there early is a MUST. Luckily, we didn't have to park far but I could see how one might get unlucky and have to walk a lot. I'll definitely be attending more polo matches in the future.

Yelp
If you're looking for a unique experience, stop by Houston Polo Club on a Sunday evening when they are in season. This little oasis in Memorial makes you feel like you're not even in Houston. As you arrive, you'll be surrounded by greenery until you're directed to park on the grass. Polo is a sport where the athletes are on horseback. I don't understand all of the rules but there's an announcer during the match which was helpful. But make sure to arrive before the festivities so you can grab a good seat (if you have general admission tickets) and to enjoy some food and drinks. While I was there on my most recent visit, Ketel One and Tanqueray were posted up giving free samples. Always a plus! At halftime, they invite the crowd onto the field for a champagne toast. So cool! And make sure to dress up for the experience. We're talking Kentucky Derby gear. Preppy, formal wear with pastel or seersucker for the fellas. Colorful, floral dresses and hats for the ladies. It's something different and a great way to spend a couple of hours with friends or with a date.

Yelp
So I was invited to a Derby day event here and must admit it was pretty awesome. If you are in the Houston area and have never experienced it, you should at least once in your life time. There was a Polo match going on as well, which I found interesting almost like playing golf on a horse with a hint of soccer. Nevertheless the horse were beautiful and majestic and of course they made the riders look good. Seriously, this was a really great event motivated me to look into a membership as well. That's another story! Until the next one,

Yelp
Love their Sunday matches. You can buy tickets online or on Groupon for a slightly discounted rate. There is plenty of parking, but if you arrive late, there might be a longer walk through the grass (wear chunky heels or wedges!). There is usually a Ketel One cart serving samples, and The Lymbar caters on site, however, the quality of their dishes is much lower than at their brick and mortar location. The games are usually 2h long, with a break in the middle, where you do a champagne divot stomp. They hand out small cups of complimentary bubbly at this time. There is live flamenco guitar too. Overall, a great way to get some fresh air and sunlight while watching the talented athletes and horses.

Yelp
I went today to watch a Polo match and I loved it. It was a lot of fun. The premises are very nice. Definitely going back. I tried the chicken chicharron, I really liked it however I felt it was expensive ($18) for the amount I got. The bathrooms were clean. We got complimentary champagne midgame, which was nice too.

Yelp
Great Experience! got a coupon from some friends with a discounted rate and it made for a wonderful time and a very unique experience! I would go back!

Yelp
Such a fun way to spend the day with family or friends! Loved coming here for Easter Sunday with my husband, baby & in laws. Definitely stroller/baby friendly. We bought a box for the game & it was perfect! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Came there as a spectator and it did not disappoint. Pricey on the champagne, but when you are thirsty, you have to make do. Service was average, but the ambiance is nice. It was a great way to end a weekend, watching the ponies and stomping divots with a reward of champagne for your "hard work."

Yelp
This was my first time going. We had such a great time and of course the weather was amazing! I definitely will be back next year.

Yelp
I never knew Houston had a Polo Club, until Groupon told me it did. It also encouraged me by offering half off coupons. Even with the GPS location it took a bit to figure out where I was going. So basically it is at 610 and memorial. There is a sign that says dead end, that is where you go. It's a long drive way and at the end there will be people who tell you where to park. Once you park there are 2 sides, one with mostly tables and the other side with mainly boxes. The boxes are like any other sporting event, mostly corporately owned. However, there are some open boxes and via the groupon those were the only ones we were allowed to sit in. It was an interesting sport. However, as much of a sports fan as I am, it's just way too leisurely to not care. I tried to be into the game for the first couple of minutes but after the first score and NO ONE cheered, it was just hard. The crowd uses it as a social event instead of a sporting event. I left after halftime? The point where you get to actually step on the field and stomp in the divots. If you go as a social event it wouldn't be bad, but don't go as a sporting event as you'll be disappointed by the lack of cheering.

Yelp
Great way to spend a Sunday. They bring you out onto the field to stomp in the divots and give you champagne. Something unique to do. The reason for the three stars: for two orders of sliders and two drinks it cost is $70. Steep pricing on the one thing on the menu and a small drink.

Kevin P.

Yelp
Brought my daughter here for a lesson. When a complaint was expressed, both the teacher and manager became aggressive and condescending. We tried to contact the club before visiting to tell the club about my daughter's riding level. The manager never returned our calls, put my daughter on the smallest horse, and then blamed us for not talking to them before getting there. The manager ended the conflict by telling us to never come back. The lesson was unremarkable. Out of an hour, the kids rode about 20 minutes. The teacher focused on basic skills below the level of 3 out of the 4 riders. If there are other options, definitely pursue those.

Yelp
I went on a living social voucher , it was cheap and overall we had a wonderful time. The excitement of the match gets 5 stars, its a concession stand which served water wine and Ruth Chris's Steak House sliders ,which were delicious, ordered I thought was the sweetest red wine but it wasn't, but overall we enjoyed the match and more so the patting down of divots and free champagne, the weather was just right for the match

Yelp
If you like watching the game of polo, you might actually enjoy being here. If you aren't, then it's really not that entertaining. Came here with friends for a charity event. I liked that I got to dress up in a cute dress and wear a big polo hat. In addition, seeing and being able to pet live horses was also unique and fun. However, the heat that day, coupled with my disinterest in the game of polo did not make it very tolerable to stay there very long. Glad I at least came here once, though.

Yelp
I got a Groupon to watch a game here, and wasn't sure what to expect but my experience was amazing! It was a lot of fun! I don't exactly know the rules of Polo and I had never watched a game before but I loved it :) Added bonus: At half time there was free champagne and a car show. It was a really fun event, I definitely recommend it!
google avatar

Kyle R.

Yelp
Action is great but only 2 people working the food and drink line and one is only for season ticket members. After you get your food/drink you have to immediately get back in line since it's a 20 minute wait in line each time. This makes it hard to stay hydrated for kids and family while in the sun for an extended period of time.

Yelp
About ten years ago I got invited to a polo game here. Not having plans that day and intrigued as to what a live polo game would be like, I gleefully accepted. First off, no one would ever know that the polo club is hidden where it is! Its right in the middle of Houston close to the Galleria, but somehow I passed by the location never having a clue that the Polo Club was here. Obviously everything is held outside, everyone I was with had brought their own coolers for watching the games on the sidelines. But there was also covered seating available. As I mentioned people brought coolers, which means I was being fed champagne. No complaints here! Which meant by the time there was a break for the Divit stomping, I was floating on air! Divit stomping is an age old activity that allows the players and horses to take a break and the spectators can come onto the field to stomp the divits torn up during play. I can't recall if they have food there or not, I imagine they would. I know this is a members only club and you have to be invited...and when you are getting all fancy like that you better be feeding people! Anyways, I have since been back a couple of times and this is a great activity for a Sunday when the weather is nice.

Yelp
I LOVE riding at this place. It's a little oasis inside the Houston Loop. So convenient and such beautifully maintained grounds. The horses for lessons are well-kept and healthy, and not broken-spirited nags. They have a full range of riding options, but I started here with polo lessons. The class was GREAT for the meeting the other students of all ages and skill levels, as well as the great riding and sport. The family facility is so laid-back and never pretentious. The Sunday Polo matches are world-class and have good catering, although I do agree with one of the comments that the lines can get long at the concessions, so plan for that (unless it's been corrected). Definitely recommend watching a match and if you have ANY interest in learning polo the class is GREAT.

Yelp
Went here with my bf and 2 other friends to just see what it's all about. We had a groupon just for the experience. Finding it can be tricky. It's like going into the dead end of what seems like a continuation of the feeder road but it is actually a long driveway into the Polo Club. We were told to find seats that did not have a name marked in the box. It was a little hard because 90% of them had a name or company name on them, even though the majority remained empty. They are just light-weight fold out chairs on dirt/gravel. I felt silly dressing up a little. I was worried this was going to be more on the end of the horse races of My Fair Lady. Apparently a large dinner party filled with people wearing large hats were all sitting on the opposite side at actual dinner tables. They do have servers to get mini food items and drinks. We were never even acknowledged. :/ The game itself is very leisurely to watch, I'm sure trying to hit those balls on long sticks on a horse if very difficult. But it's just okay to watch, not exciting. I'm sure it's more fun to actually play and ride the pretty horses. ^__^ Oh yea, there was a weird tradition thing where all the audience gets to come out and stomp on the grass to patch the holes up and get a free little cup of champagne.

Yelp
Went to tailgate polo today. I had an awesome time. Brought food drinks. Got mouched on by friends. People think, oh tailgate polo, I will just drinks there and don't bring enough for themselves. Seriously. Weather was nice. Stomped divots. A sucessful Goupon outing.

Yelp
I snagged a groupon special. I had no idea Houston had a Polo Club. If you're wondering about appropriate dress for ladies, a sun dress or a shift dress is the norm along with a lovely hat (optional). Wear wedges or flats if you want to participate in the halftime of stomping divots. Men wore polos and dockers or shorts with closed toe shoes for the most part. They have food and some offerings from Nothing Bundt Cakes if you have a sweet tooth. They also have offerings of champagne, still and sparkling water, a nicely stocked bar. Complimentary champagne was offered at halftime and there were lovely cars to check out that were offered by Sealy. People from all walks seemed to be here. It's a really much better experience for groups of six or more. This is more of a social event that has a sport going on in the background.

Yelp
If you have general admission tickets, get to the match at least 30 minutes early to find a seat under the awning. We arrived about 10 minutes early, and there were no seats under the awning. We got a table with an umbrella, but it got very, very hot. The plastic chairs didn't help either, leading to a sweaty bottom. No one likes a sweaty bottom. The match itself was very interesting, I knew nothing about polo and loved learning about it. I'll be back, but once its less hot outside. Berryhill Baja Grill has a food truck and a bar near the field, credit cards accepted.

Yelp
Just had my first date with the Houston Polo Club courtesy of a half off Groupon. We've been meaning to go and the Groupon made it that much easier to commit. It was a georgeously cool Sunday afternoon, my gal pal and I were looking quite the part and we looking forward to whatever we were in for. Parking was easy enough, and we were directed where to go as soon as we got in the gate. We opted to find a spot on the "members" side as they informed us that the boxes without names designated on them were considered free seating. After finding a nice spot for ourselves, we visited the concession area where we had a Sangria and a Margarita with a Sangria floater. The drinks were $9 a pop, but buddy they did the trick! Champagne was $10, Wine about $8 and bottled beer about $5 for reference. They had some food there and Armando's food truck was also there serving up fajitas and nachos (didn't partake). The polo itself if fast moving and pretty darn interesting. They provided free programs so you could see what the club was about and the going ons. At "half time" they invite the audience to help stomp divots. You just walk out on the field and try to even out the holes. It's more of a participatory event than a real necessity and they pass out free champagne to make the whole event a bit more festive. There brought out a horse for the kids to pet and you have a bit of time to socialize with the other audience members and do a bit of people watching. It's a real treat to have the Houston Polo Club in our own backyard! The whole event may seem pricey, but you are outside in a beautiful setting, you get to be active during half time, the game is actually really interesting and relatively easy to follow and you are really close to the action, you get to dress up if you'd like, and visit with the people around you. Bonus features: I saw a child play area for the really young kids, the food options are classier than a normal sporting event, and a couple people brought their pups! We also hung out for a bit and got to take pictures with a couple of the players. A must for all Houstonians!

Yelp
I got a Travel Zoo voucher for grandstand box seating up to 6 people and was able to use it for Mothers Day. The email to book the box seats was very responsive and the event was great. Food and drink prices are surprisingly reasonable at the bar by the box seats. The 6 person grandstand boxes aren't covered, but we were shaded by trees. I highly recommend Houston Polo Club for a fun and unique outing in Houston!!!

Yelp
Polo in Houston is a real treat! It's amazing how something this cool inside the loop has escaped most Houstonians. It's one of the best times that you can have with your clothes on (and with a big hat....)

Yelp
I really enjoyed my evening at the polo match! I bought tickets off of Groupon and had no idea what to expect. I wore a colorful sundress and my boyfriend wore a collared shirt with khaki shorts and I would say we fit in well. Most women were wearing dresses and big hats and most men were wearing a collared shirt. We sat on the general admission side which had to deal with the sun for most of the game, so that was a little annoying, but the game was so much fun I didnt really mind that much. Before the game we walked around the stables and looked at a few of the horses. People watching was also great. I recommend looking up basic polo facts so you aren't confused with the vocabulary. There were a few first timers to polo who had no idea what was going on the entire time. After the first 2 chukkers people are invited out on the field to fill in divots and free champagne! They had a food truck on the general admission side that told tacos and alcohol, but I dont see why you couldnt bring your own water and snacks if you didnt want to buy any there. This was a great way to spend the evening, but dont forget your sunglasses!
