Hout Bay is a picturesque seaside gem near Cape Town, offering stunning mountain views, vibrant markets, and a lively beach scene perfect for nature lovers.
"Hout Bay is basically Eden. This ecological utopia has everything a nature lover could want, from imposing mountains and miraculous views (check out the Twelve Apostles range) to World of Birds, the largest bird park in Africa, home to 3,000 birds and over 100 walk-through aviaries. On weekends, you can shop for food and crafts at the lively market at the end of the harbor road. Besides Chapman's Peak Drive, there are two other roads into Hout Bay, one from Constantia and another that passes the gorgeous surfer beach of Llandudno—also the exit for Sandy Bay, a nudist beach."
Was a beautiful day out, great weather and good place to get a snack, lunch, some arts and crafts. Good afternoon out with the family. Catch one of the tours out to see the seals at seal island. Very affordable.

Hout Bay is filled with eclectic people, some more eclectic than others. A good place to visit but not totally safe to stay. It is a microcosm of South Africa and its current complex challenges.

Hout Bay has amazing views. Such tranquility on its beaches and Chapmans Peak picnic areas. Yes, one has to pay a toll fee to get to the most picturesque view site called Look Out Point situated on Chapmans Peak which is the drive between Hout Bay and Noordhoek, a most definite MUST SEE. Hout Bay also boast with a few seafood restaurants and take aways and a must experience Bay Harbour Market. Totally worth a visit...
