"Hout Bay Manor embodies that quirky charm, but with impeccable taste—eclectic furniture straight out of Alice in Wonderland finds a home alongside traditional African fabrics and motifs, all beneath the eaves of a classic Cape Dutch home dating back to 1871. The owners accent imposing four-poster beds and pops of scarlet splashed throughout the interiors, and somehow the manor’s old bones and new vibe blend together with ease. The hotel is only 30 minutes from Cape Town but still a world away, and once guests get into the laid-back Hout Bay groove, they may never want to leave the lovely pool to make that drive back to the city."
We had a lovely room, which was comfortable. The welcome was good, but i was diappointed to learn a double/queen bed was not available , we had to settle for 2 singles. Breakfast was lovely , and there are nearby restaurants. Parking was on the roadside , not within the hotel grounds, and assistance with luggage was slow or absent.

A very special place, tranquille but exciting! Attention of the staff is five star level and the rooms are furnished in an elegant mix of styles that I have never seen before. only the pool needs better maintenance and wasn’t heated as promised

We last stayed here in 2022 and it’s just as beautiful. The African decoration is to die for, very well done. Good food and willing staff which makes the world of difference. No load shedding issues either. Very clean, nice area with couple of good restaurants nearby. Recommended!

My review is specifically for the Mother’s Day high tea. My son booked and was given a time of 12 noon so when we arrived we asked if we could rather skip afternoon tea and order from the lunch menu. This was refused because they’d prepared for the number of bookings but we only got served two hours later by which time we were ravenous having skipped breakfast for this. The tea consisted of nothing remotely healthy except half of a salmon sandwich. But the kicker was there was no tea or coffee included. A big disappointment. Loads of sugar and deep fried savouries. But no tea!!!

We had the pleasure of visiting this hotel several times for both breakfast and dinner, and each experience was nothing short of exceptional. The food is absolutely delicious and of the highest quality, with every dish prepared to perfection.
The staff are extraordinarily friendly and welcoming, always going above and beyond to make us feel at home. They even provided a high chair for our little one, showing how attentive and family-friendly the service is.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the interior design is both elegant and aesthetically pleasing. Dining here is truly a feast for both the palate and the eyes.
We highly recommend this hotel for anyone seeking a memorable culinary experience in a beautiful setting with outstanding service!

We are quite familiar with the venue for breakfasts which are normally quite good but first time for dinner and a big thumbs down unfortunately. My PadThai was inedible and two who sampled it agreed with me that something was off. The Chef did come out to tender her apologies but in her view it was fine, which was very concerning indeed. The other food was at best average. Friendly staff seemed unsupervised and not very effective. The venue as ever is tranquil and lovely which salvaged an otherwise disappointing evening.

Service was dreadful. We had to ask for butter for the toast. Had to call the waitron for salt and pepper. Food all came at different times. The only nice thing was the coffee. One of us had scones, which was nice. Pity as the garden is a pleasant place to sit.

We went for drinks on a Friday evening and were served by Hlanganani. We were very impressed by his style; attentive but not intrusive. Later we learned he was being trialed as a possible waiter. We’d strongly recommend him!
