The place is nice but you will definitely need to take with you some earplugs. Depending on where your room is located the music from the nearby nightclub can be very loud, that coupled with the church bell that rings about every 1.5 hour starting at 6:00 AM will make it very difficult to get a good rest. That said the staff is great and that's always a plus. They offered to move me into a room that was farther away from the street but they where completely booked so there was nothing to be done regarding the noise.

This was a 1 night stay, before returning back home, horrible place. The door wouldn't open & the room had a musty smell. Bed was horrible & pillows were flat. The furniture was run down & the bathroom was partially clean & old. This place is a dump and the rooms needs some major renovations. I will definitely not be returning to this place.

Its a nice comfy, down to earth place to spend a couple of days. The attendance is pretty good although the rooms are very cold and you cant do much about that. You have to pay parking for the hotel, yet still it doesn't have security at night, and your parking as a guest at the hotel isn't secured. The elevator is unsafe.

Love the Spanish decoration of the rooms and hallways. The Suite is spacious and has a nice outdoor space. Hotel surroundings are great and have plenty of food options. The hotel kitchen is nice. Well priced and tasty food.

OMG there is a dance club right outside that starts up at about midnight thirty. It sounded like it was in the hallway. On a Tuesday night. I checked out at about 5 am and cancelled my remaining stay. The room wasn't that great anyhow. However, after being on this rock for a few weeks I'll have to say it's pretty standard.

I have never stayed here, but had coworkers that have stayed in a lot. They always tell me that rooms are clean, common areas are clean, hotel size is small but comfy, personnel is super friendly, BUT depending on the room, you get all the city noise all night long and it is difficult to sleep. Note that the parking garage for this hotel is one block after the hotel (it will be at your right).

The hotel is right next to the plaza which is the heart of mayaguez. Be warned though, the pool is unheated and is shaded by a 9ft wall which makes the water colder than usual. The lobby was modern while the corridors had that old spainard feel. My room was clean and the view of the church was pretty neat.

Stayed here for a night, cause I couldn't stand to stay another one. First room the door didn't open, not even the attendant could open it with a master key, room furniture was unfinished wood, had no varnish or anything, wood was sanded and touched up, but still rough. The bathroom had hair still in the shower, rust coming out the tiles. A towel had blood stains on it, another had dirt stains still. The sink was leaking, wash your teeth and feet at the same time. Toilet paper roll was not new either. The curtains were torn at the bottom and bed sheets were not to the same bed size. Was just a bad night's experience here, I will not be coming back at all.

Yelp
This was a clean, rather charming, old world hotel. The room was very small but adequate for the price. We stayed 3 days. The staff were quick to address our small concerns. It is in conscientious, safe place. Easy drive to beautiful Rincon and Hobo beaches. The only downside is the clanging of the church bells next door that for some reason go off EVERY morning before 6:00 and lasts a long time. Not good! Maybe these bells are not heard on the new part of the hotel? We prefer the quint old side with the outdoor balcony. We would stay again.

Yelp
Since day one I requested to change the temps on the A/C as it's so cold in the room & a/c to noisy. They said it's set up that way and they can't do anything about it and hope I could sleep with the noisy A/C I couldn't sleep the first 2 nights and had to buy me some medicine for the cold as I was getting congested. Employees are never on the front desk, they're sitting on the cafeteria or on the guest sitting area. Breakfast is a cup of coffee and a pastry. I went down to the lobby to get a cup of coffee one night had my jacket on because how freezing is my room is & one of the employees (manager on duty) had the nerve to tell me that the coffee was for guests only. I showed him my room key and he just said Ah bien que tenga buena noche. They took my face and hand towels two days ago and never brought clean ones until now. Btw the rooms have a thermostat but it's not connected to the AC unit. I paid in full two months prior coming. Hot water takes forever to come out. I'm planning to come to Mayagüez every other month to visit child at the university but I'm definitely not staying here.

Yelp
We stayed here for one night on business and the hotel lobby is nice and the staff is very friendly, but that is the only good part about this place. The rooms were decent but the windows were unlocked and one window was missing the shades behind the curtains for full privacy. The street noise is constant and amplified by the narrow streets with many large trucks passing through this area. There is loud music from clubs and bars in the areas playing late and a flagpole that bangs in the wind all night. Also, there are church bells in the morning from what I think is the church next door so it was very loud and went on for a lot longer than necessary, not 6 chimes for 6 o'clock but maybe 25. Worst night of sleep during the few days we were in PR. Another thing that bothered me was the fee charged after I booked and paid for the room online. If you are going to charge an extra $3.27 just make the room $83.27 instead of $80. Seems like some kind of scam. Breakfast is not included as stated on the website. I would try another hotel if you can.

Yelp
We made a reservation on-line for a 10 day stay. The hotel charged our credit card for the entire stay upfront (not refundable so if you're unhappy you're stuck). I notified them we would need an early check-in. Upon arrival they wanted to charge us $220 for the early check-in (keep in mind the room was only $65/night). I offered to pay the extra day ($65) but they said no. (We slept in the car). Upon check-in we were surprised by extra charges, $20/day "resort fee" (this place is by no stretch of the imagination a "resort" nor are there any resort amenities). Also, they advertise on-site parking & upon arrival they charge $10/day parking fee. We took a room in the "new section", the room was modern, clean & comfortable. As I said this place was definitely NOT a resort. They have a small pool in the center of the hotel. The pool area is tiny & it's always shady, doesn't get any sun. They offer a continental breakfast which is adequate. The hotel is centrally located in Mayaguez. Good location to travel/explore the West side of the Island. I must say the staff was very friendly & accommodating. The place was OK but not great.
