It is a nice comfortable place to spend a few hours. The releases are always current. The staff is friendly. I saw that some people were complaining about the concession prices. Most of the movie ticket pricing goes to the studios. All theaters have a good mark up on their concessions. It is where they make their money. Employees, electric to cool/heat that big area, rental on the building. Not enough people are going to even cover their basic expenses. I will really miss them if they close down. I am a regular about once a week.

I love that my son's get to watch movies at the same place as I did when I was their age. We've been coming to the Howard for years already & we've NEVER had a BAD experience. The employees have excellent customer service and the concession and admission prices are VERY reasonable. Instead of wasting gas to support other cities think about The Howard. 😊 First post was three years ago, it is now 2019- & we still get fabulous customer service and they still have reasonable prices. 🖤

Took my kids to go see the new Spider-Man and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised but how this theater was and such a small town. What a great asset to Taylor Texas. The downstairs theater is a modern theater and great for watching whatever movie you choose. The upstairs theater is more retro more old-school with a stage and all it would be great for watching classic films. Not so much new movies. FYI

I love this little theater! So close to home, walking distance to many charming shops in downtown Taylor. Affordable to see new movies and not crowded, you can show up 15 min before most movies and still get great seats :)

Google
Great local movie theatre. Friendly staff. A little warm inside, but overall a good experience. Sure beats the 20 to 30 minute drive to Pflugerville and Round Rock. Some of it looks a little run down, but the seating is fairly new and comfortable.

As a recent patron of the Howard Theater, I can tell you that they have upgraded many things mentioned in older reviews. It is also a historic theater, so you get the opportunity to watch current films in a theater that is like a time machine. Admission is a fair price. It is never overcrowded. I will always use it as a first choice if they are showing the film I want to see.

I love this little home town theater! They have updated thier screens and sound system, as well as their seats. They only play two movies at any given time but they have great prices and they usually have a more family friendly movie and a more adult movie going, so there is something for everyone. Family owed and a favorite place of mine:)

Nice little place. I am not really a movie type, if I choose to attend I like a Flix type atmosphere. This place has a simple popcorn/coke feel and I liked it. Don,t expect to get a first class sound system, the screen size was just right. Will visit again.

Yelp
The Howard does a great job of getting first-run movies in our little town of Taylor; but its downstairs screen has such uncomfortable seating we can't stand to sit through an entire film and its upstairs screen is not accessible to individuals with mobility issues. It is unfortunate the remodeling of this historic theatre was done without concern for the comfort of moviegoers of all abilities, sizes and ages. No matter how wonderful a film playing at the Howard is, we drive to Round Rock or Austin so that we can watch it in comfort. So much to like here, but the essential element of comfort is missing for us.

Yelp
The Howard is a historic treasure and it really is the heart and soul of downtown Taylor. (It's been running since 1914!!) It offers two individual theaters showing new movies on weekends, which have been renovated relatively recently with super comfy seats. The tickets are the cheapest you'll find in a theater today: $6.50 for ALL ages. You can't beat that price. You can purchase your tickets in-person or on Fandango. You can also rent out the place for viewing parties, video game tournaments, etc., the latter of which I've done before and it's really intense with their sound system! I've had a great experience every time I've gone to The Howard. The staff is friendly, the tickets and concessions are really affordable, and the theater is comfortable. All in all, this place is pretty flippin sweet. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
The staff was EXTREMELY rude! The theatre was so hot that I was sweating on my face and I was in a tank top, shorts and flip flops . I had to go outside. The theatre was old and smelly. Never again!! Please do not visit this theatre.!The peopleworking the theatre are EXTREMELY ! I dont know how to comment on my comment of my original post! When i came into the theatre i was rudely cut off 3 times by 2 different employees !!!.. popcorn has nothing to do with the way I was treated after explaining that my baby fell and the guy was overreacting.. phone was on for light to look at my daughter's bleeding toe after falling in your theatre. Too dark to see.. that is poor service. You cant ask someone to leave just because someone is being an asshole!

Yelp
Thank you for providing a safe, fun place for young people can spread their independence. They had so much fun at the Grease sing a long. They want Hairspray next!

Yelp
The Howard Theatre is the perfect spot for a night out with some friends to catch a film, or if you're from out of town, to come and check out the historic theater in downtown Taylor that was originally opened in 1914! I've been seeing movies at the Howard for over twenty years now, and I've never had a bad experience. It's close to home and the staff are very friendly.. not to mention it is way more affordable than those multiplex theaters that are much farther away. The next time you see a movie, support local business and go to the Howard!

Yelp
If your looking for a quiet, hometown theatre to watch an affordable film, this is the place to go. Seating is always available but rather old. The theatre seems like a small "high school auditorium", but works just fine. Only Con is that they do not show Blockbuster Hits

Yelp
It's not the fanciest place you'll ever go to, but it has charm and character. Shows are never sold out, prices are reasonable and it's local for me. Open for over 100 yrs!

Yelp
The was the 3rd time the Howard has been a great disappointment. We went to see Breaking Dawn which we had previously seen at a real theater. Once again, the picture was dark, fluttery, and fuzzy. The sound worked only part of the time. When we complained, the staff told us there was nothing they could do, This theater is cheap and it should be for the quality they produce. We will never darken those doors again. I wonder if the film distributors are aware of the shoddy equipment and the poor quality of the experience.

Yelp
Great historic theater! Great prices, and has kept a part of history alive! I wish more Downtown Taylor businesses would follow their lead.

Yelp
Nice to be able to drive such a short distance to enjoy a movie. And not spend a fortune! Being a single mom, very nice to not break the bank for a movie, popcorn & drinks for two. They show current films & do fun throw back movies & even free nights during the summer. They keep the place clean & staff is friendly. I also like the later showings so you can miss the crowds.

Yelp
Great historical theatre. They show new movies but its a small place so you just have to keep an eye out for what you want to see. Prices are very affordable. They even let you rent the place out. Very cool.

Yelp
A very nice older theater that they have renovated with good seating at some point. The workers were very nice! The prices are the best I've seen in a while. The food is also fairly cheap and good popcorn. Would like to see the long hair on the workers pulled back or under a hairnet.

Yelp
Nice to see this historic theater still in business, but the owners need to bite the bullet and bump up the projector brightness. Screening at a reduced brightness is a penny pinching measure that makes the audience suffer and detracts from the film-going experience. I've experienced this on a couple trips to The Howard now.... if it keeps happening, I'll probably (sadly) stop going.

Yelp
It's an old theater, but no worries, the screen and sound is great. They show new movies, but with only two screens it's limited. Always check their website for the movies and times. The seats are the best ever. Staff is very nice. Best of all super cheap!!!

Yelp
Great place if your in to old stuff with new feel and new electronic then it's would the drive
