Loved this cobblestone architecture! Inside seems like a time capsule, with so many different artifacts from a long ago time. Tons of information about the Howland family and the era they lived in, and the causes they supported. Upstairs is an ahhhhhhhhmazing curiosity shop - with items the family collected from their extensive travels all around the globe. I could have stayed there for hours! Highly recommend.

While driving to the Harriet Tubman Museum my 11 year old grandson and I randomly saw an open flag on a beautiful building, I pulled into the parking lot. We had no idea who Emily Howland was. Two women volunteers welcomed us and gave us an amazingly interesting tour that captivated both my grandson and I. We did go on to the Harriet Tubman house to find it was closed for renovations.

Hidden Gem! Extremely interesting Howland family museum which highlights women's suffrage, the underground railroad, equal rights and education. Had a great tour, learned a lot, and am inspired to read and learn more.

Truly impressive evidence of the ways a few committed and idealistic people have moved society forward. We all owe the Howland family for their work, and we should all plan multiple visits!
