Five Stars – A Must-Visit in Nosara! We loved Howler’s Beach Lounge so much, we came back two days in a row—mainly for the incredible tuna carpaccio. Fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor—it’s a dish that keeps you coming back. The homemade tortilla chips and guac were the perfect starter, and the carne asada and al pastor tacos were packed with flavor. Don’t miss the margaritas (thank you, Jonathan!) or the virgin mojitos for the kids—equally refreshing and beautifully crafted. The service was outstanding both times. Carlos, our server, was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Jonathan, the bartender, makes one of the best margaritas in town. The vibe is laid-back and beachy, but with top-tier service that stands out. Special shoutout to Carlos the owner for creating such a memorable place. This spot is a total gem in Nosara—come once and you’ll absolutely be back for more.

Great food, good service, beach bar vibe. Staff were great. We had the fish and pork tacos and the Carpaccio which was amazing! Would highly recommend

We had a fantastic lunch at Howlers! The margaritas were delicious, and the tacos were very good, but the real standout was the tuna carpaccio—it was absolutely to die for. The atmosphere was great, and we loved the laid-back vibes. Service was also solid, making for an all-around enjoyable experience. Would definitely return!

Tuna carpaccio tourist trap, and the male bartender disrespecting the female bartender. You’ll see the carpaccio is ~ $12 (6.000 colones) on the menu. They’ll charge $21 (10.500 colones) after offering jalapeño and avocado. So they don’t warn you about the extra, which is normal, but then charging almost the same price as the carpaccio itself for a sad sprinkle of avocado is absurd. They blamed it to taxes, which does’t make sense. On top of that, one of the male bartenders was occasionally grabbing the female bartender’s back and breasts. She clearly wasn’t pleased about it, and he clearly wasn’t sober. This was disgusting. This is the first time I leave a 1-star review. I’m very rarely upset about my experience in restaurants. I could have taken the tourist trap, c’est la vie, but harassment isn’t okay.

If you’re in Nosara, you need to make this pitstop while you are heading to or coming back from the sunset. The wait can be long at times but it is worth it. The carpaccio is absolutely amazing. Carlos is one sexy beast of a man and makes the best drinks in town.

Quaint food stand in guiones near the beach. Hard to grab a table here. Friendly service. Tasty food. Was super bummed to wait 1 hour plus to get our order. We could see the people were working behind the scenes but seemed strange to wait 1.5 hours to receive our food. Plus we were told we only ordered one plate of tacos. Again odd as we were a party of four. Hope this was an off day as all the previous reviews looked great. Bonus was watching the howler monkeys in the tree across the street.

Howlers Tacos is a must stop anytime in Nosara. Amy and Destiny were attentive, warm and make the best Passion Fruit and Dragon Fruit Margaritas in Nosara. We totally enjoyed ourselves here. Next time, we must try the Tuna Carpaccio and tacos because there were 3 other people raving about the food.

An absolute staple of Nosara; I’m a huge fan of all of their margaritas and the *carpachio* is to die for. Pictured is a mango margarita!
