Hoxton Fish House

Wowww absolutely brilliant! Hands down one of the best in london. They made everything fresh, it was so delicious and perfectly cooked. The portion size is great and good value for money. Service was really good too and the staff are kind.

Though known for the fried fish & chips I highly recommend the grilled haddock. It was absolutely delicious, cooked perfectly & served with fries & a tasty fresh green salad- a must try ! There is limited seating. The staff are very pleasant & service is excellent!

The best fish and chips in the borough. Absolutely delicious, crispy light batter and the chips wasn't hard or dry. The tartar sauce was tasty.y elderly Mum was very impressed. Most of all Hussain has excellent customer service and he has a kind soul. We will try and visit again when the sun is out or we'll definitely order a few takeaways ❤️

£6.50 for large chips? Portion size looks like a kids portion, Banana for size context. Put in box in a paper bag, cold by time the chips made it home, wheres the paper wrap on such a cold evening. Taste nice but not worth the money, this place is for people with more money than sense. Will not be buying from here again, first and last time.

Very cute place, i had my first ever fish and chips here! The portions are generous and the service is super quick. Very recommended

Excellent fish and chips, had the haddock and it was large, fresh, and nice batter. Chips seemed fresh cut, good taste but not very crispy (personal preference). Tartar sauce seemed homemade, was super nice. Further exceeding that is the fried whitebait appetizer which was the best we’ve ever had globally, fried in cornmeal batter and so tasty. The whitebait here are not the tiny style from New Zealand but instead are rather big (meaning bigger than say a sardine), quantity received was more than expected or mentioned in the menu — we LOVED them! Salt and pepper squid was very good, no issues but not world best category like the whitebait. Staff here pleasant and attentive. We ate in, and the tables were decent, clean, comfortable. Bathroom okay. Nice neighborhood. In summary we really enjoyed this place and we’ll likely be back here nice time we are in London.

This small local chip shop offers excellent service. I sampled the haddock and cod on separate visits, and both were fresh, with a crisp and flavorful batter that perfectly satisfied my craving for authentic fish and chips. The seating is limited, and the absence of air conditioning on a warm 21°C day made it somewhat uncomfortable during one visit, which was the only downside I encountered. The fish and chips surpassed those from a chain shop I visited in Spitalfields Market and were better than those from a few local pubs I tried.

I really enjoyed this restaurant, and though it's not a large restaurant, the food was great. I visited twice during my visit to London and had fried cod the first time, and fried haddock the second time, both times with chips.

When in London.... Anytime I visit the UK, one of my must haves is good old fashioned fish and chips. While at my hotel, I searched my trusty Yelp which brought me to Hoxton Fish House. I didn't have to look at the menu at the counter - I simply said "fish and chips" please. I took a seat outside and waited for my delectables to arrive. The time seemed like plank/burpee minutes, but in reality the food came out relatively quick. When I took my first bite / it was mission accomplished. Each bite was all I wanted and more. The fish and chips were fabulous - I ended up unable to finish due to the size of the meal. The atmosphere was pretty laid back and sitting outside was somewhat relaxing. If you're anywhere in the area, I highly recommend this place!

We couldn't come to London and not have a proper Fish & Chips for a meal. On our first night we found that Hoxton Fish House was rather close to where we were staying, which made it a short walk to get to and from. The interior is quaint, very quiet but the staff was friendly. I ordered the tradition Fried Cod with a side of chips. Although it didn't come in a newspaper like my friend and I were told that the best fish and chips came in. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal! You may be thinking...what about the tartar? Well, I'm here to tell you that you also get a side of tartar. Order two if you can, it did just the trick to pair along with the fish. The cod was fresh, as well as the chips. Highly recommend that you stop by if you find yourself in the Hoxton neighborhood.

A good place to end your night if you're hungry. I'm American and I had to get me some fish & chips. They were reasonably priced, and had good selection. I dined in, there was plenty of room for such a small space (it was a weekday). I was overly joyed with the proportion of food I got, it filled the entire plate. It was fresh and crispy. The staff there were patient and attended to my needs, which i didn't have many. Will recommend this place when I come back to London.

While in London, one must try Fish and Chips and I took a chance through UberEats on this place and glas I did. First off the piece of fish you get is gigantic in a slim cardboard box with chips on the side and both taste excellent! The fish is battered just the right way and the chips/fries are delicious, nice, light taste and hit the spot. I was not a fan of the cole slaw, really mushy and weird texture, however other than that this was great!

We wanted the most amazing fish and chips and walked over to your place the other night. You were so kind and all of your suggestions were amazing. Your hospitality is great and enjoyed it very much. For public: this people know how to make their fish. We had one nice Plaice fish with a yummy salad and Cod battered very lightly and side dishes were perfect combinations. Small size place. Won't accommodate a large group but don't worry cuz they also do lots of take outs. Great job you guys and you lucky to have B there with you helping you along.

Sometimes in life it's the simple things that give the greatest pleasure! What could be more simple than fish and chips with salad well nothing really. But how wrong you would be, firstly the lady that served us was very friendly and nothing was to much trouble . We ordered grilled place with salad and chips and the fish was cooked to perfection and probably the best piece of fish I've had in a long time, the chips spot on and the salad fresh and vibrant for such a humble meal it gave great pleasure! Oh I forgot to mention the homemade tartare sauce was superb.
