We travelled from Cape Town after a few days there to Hoyo Hoyo, and were greeted at the airport for a transfer to the resort (this is paid for extra, however highly recommended) as the resort is well within the forest unlike some other resorts in the region. On reaching we were greeted nicely and explained details about the room and other things. The rooms are great for a couple however, if travelling with family you may want to consider two rooms. The safaris were exceptional, as was the food and the “hoyo television” which is a man made watering hole and your sightings start as soon as you reach (we even saw a leopard at dinner time). Food is amazing as is the staff. Highly recommended.

Absolutely Exceptional Safari Experience! We spent four unforgettable nights at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge in the southwestern part of Kruger National Park, and it was one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had. The lodge is beautifully located just a 1.5-hour drive from Orpen Gate, and perfectly blends comfort, authentic African charm, and the thrill of the wild. Our morning and evening safari drives with Andrew, our incredible guide, were the highlight of our stay. His deep knowledge of the bush, sharp tracking skills, and passion for wildlife made every moment special. Thanks to him, we saw four of the Big Five in their natural habitat! Each drive included thoughtful touches—coffee with an Amarula shot at sunrise and wine with appetizers at sunset in the most breathtaking settings in the African savanna. Back at the lodge, we were treated to gourmet meals and exceptional service from the warm and attentive staff. Watching animals gather at the waterhole across the lodge each morning and evening was simply magical. If you’re looking for an authentic yet luxurious safari experience, Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge is the perfect choice. Huge thanks to Andrew and the entire team of the lodge for making our stay so memorable; we can’t wait to return!

We trekked up to Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga. A 3 hour drive from a very charming Hoedspruit Airport. Our safari began as we left the airport, filled with African animals everywhere. Upon arrival at Hoyo Hoyo, we were warmly greeted by the Manager and shown to our rooms. This resort has 6 beautifully decorated, round huts with outdoor showers, a charming main area perfect for dining and relaxing, and Hoyo Hoyo TV - to be found nowhere else in Africa! Our meals were first class. Their Chef’s cuisine was the best we had enjoyed in Africa! The Staff was delightful and entertaining…thank you Colbert and Norman!|Our safaris were incredible, led by our Ranger - Pharrence. We had two a day, 3 hours long, but these safaris came with a morning coffee stop and an evening sundowner. On our first night, we shared wine and cocktails under a beautiful African night viewing the stars with Pharrence explaining the Southern Cross. We were so lucky to have him as our Ranger/Guide. He has wealth of knowledge on the area, the animals, birds and plants. We loved his humor. It was a pleasure to know him.|We would definitely go back…

Absolutely loved our stay at Hoyo Hoyo! The rooms were clean, luxurious, and had such an exotic vibe. The food was amazing and the staff were so kind and welcoming. On safari we got to see elephants, giraffes, water buffalo, a lioness, impalas and so much more, just incredible. Such a memorable trip, highly recommend!

Absolute best experience EVER! Twice a day safari drives, all the food you could possibly eat, twice a week BBQs, and the friendliest staff. They have a watering hole in the back of lodge, and the animals come everyday to drink from it, the best view. 10 stars, would absolutely recommend to everyone.

Our stay was absolutely incredible, from the beautiful lodge itself to the exceptional staff, delicious food and drinks, and unforgettable twice-daily game drives! The food itself was some of the best food we have ever tasted, huge shout out to the Chef for going the extra mile for us! Suitboy our game driver is an absolute legend! He is extremely knowledgeable and takes into account his guests to ensure we have the best experience possible! He is extremely kind and caring and we felt very safe with him! Not only did we see the Big Five on our game drives, but we were also treated to daily sightings right from the terrace during breakfast, lunch, and dinner - elephants, impala, buffalo, hyenas, and more regularly visited the watering hole in front of the lodge. It was like having a front-row seat to the wild at all times! All the staff were amazing, but a special shoutout to Morgan and Given for their outstanding service, they truly stood out! We honestly can’t recommend this experience highly enough. We left with full bellies and even fuller hearts!

We spent 3 nights at HoyoHoyo recently and I would thoroughly recommend it. It is a beautiful and tranquil place to stay but what makes it even more special, are the staff. ||On arrival, we received the warmest of welcomes from Torence who continued to be so friendly and approachable throughout our stay. ||The rooms were beautifully cleaned and serviced twice a day and the food was of high quality and just delicious. The staff/ butlers were so cheerful and helpful and Ralph, Colbert and Baldwin deserved special mentions.||Lastly, a big shout out to our Ranger, Pharence who took us on safaris twice a day. He went out of his way to try and find us all of the animals we wanted to see. His knowledge of the animals, birds and plants was extensive and there was no question that he couldn’t answer. His humour was great, accompanied by delicious morning coffees and fabulous sundowner G&Ts!||An added bonus, was that there is a watering hole opposite the main public area, means that if you are lucky, you can see animals strolling by, whilst you are dining, which was truly lovely. ||In summary, HoyoHoyo deliver a memorable and positively unforgettable experience. Don’t hesitate, go!

This might just be the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at! Sure, it’s pricey, but it’s totally worth it. The hotel is super exclusive and the team is absolutely wonderful—the service is exceptional and every little detail is spot on. The food is incredible, drinks are on the house. We have got the super plus of watching elephants pass by during our breakfast! The safari tours happen twice a day and they were unforgettable. If you’re looking for a truly special experience, this is the place to be!
