A little tucked away, but reachable by 9th east. Great food, wish I could order for a morning pickup before 6:45, but its great quality and flavor.

Google
There isn't really a seating area in the winter, but you cannot miss the food here. Especially the sausage and gravy one! That was my favorite by far. Service was quick and prices were reasonable.

Matthew Aguiar

Google
We would give 6 stars if possible! Amazing pre trail snacks or just something for the work day. Friendly staff and great menu options. Savory or sweet!

Google
The food is so yummy! Stopped by for our first time after a doctora appointment and was not disappointed. I'd love to see a stuffed sweet one though 🤤 In the picture is the Cowboy Brisket, Mixed Berry, and egg, bacon, jalapeño. Will definitely come back when in town and try all new flavors!

Google
Always amazing. Be mindful of pickup orders. They need warming up, and when you are used to getting them in person or delivered they are warm. A quick warm-up increases the deliciousness 10 fold!

Loved this place. It was my first time so the staff were patient and helpful when I had questions. I arrived around 10 am so most of what they had were breakfast items. I don’t like eggs so I asked which ones didn’t have eggs. The employee at the counter told me the Texan and the Chicken Parmesan were the only ones they had at the time that didn’t come with eggs, but another employee overheard us and made sure I understood that the pastry was made with eggs, which was super nice of her even though that wasn’t what I was concerned about. The main employee said of the two he suggested, he thought the Texan was better, but I decided to just get both and see for myself. He was right—the sausage and cheese and jalapeños in the Texan were outstanding, as was the pastry, and although the other one was good too I much preferred the Texan. I am in Texas a lot and regularly get kolaches there, and these compare really well to the originals. Suggestion: ask them to warm them up. I forgot to do that and even though they still tasted great at room temperature, I know that warmed up they would be even better.

Google
We saw Hruska's Kolaches on Food Network and thought it was pretty cool, since we are familiar with Kolaches here in Rock Springs. We were in town and stopped by. The sausage and gravy kolache was delicious! Very nice place, friendly service and atmosphere. Glad we stopped in!

Google
The first time I tried a kolache was back in Texas, so I always thought kolaches had sausage links inside. But the one from here looks more like boudin kolaches. I have to say they’re still delicious and highly recommended, specifically The Texas, which is the one with a sausage link inside. You must come early because they run out pretty quickly.

Yelp
I tried the sausage, bacon, and ham kolaches and all were delicious! They are very dense and filling. Those I was with tried some of the sweet ones and they loved those as well. Ordered pick up so the service was quick, but there was a line out the door. I would definitely recommend ordering pick up so that you can get it more quickly.

Yelp
All hail Hruska's Kolaches! For starters, their prices are unbelievably low, charging around $5 for a savory kolache. We ordered to go and literally inhaled our kolaches before even getting in the car. We ordered the Mexican omelette kolaches with egg, tomatillo, poblanos, and avocado and they were perfect for a quick savory breakfast. We also got a cinnamon kolache and I wish we requested to heat it up but it was still delicious and creamy. Our service was awesome as well. The cashier helped us pick the best options and he was super helpful and friendly!

Yelp
My first time to Hruska's was about a month ago... I must say, it's addictive. Now I can't have coffee without a kolache. They have savory or sweet selection, my favorite are the savories... makes a perfect lite breakfast or lunch. Several days ago they had a beef barbecue, which was so delicious.... Shredded beef and a savory sweet barbecue sauce.($4.99) the star is definitely the bread... sweet one are $2.95. Regular savory are $3.95. They should name this place Hruska's Crack Kolaches ...yes it's very addictive. Thumbs up

Yelp
Back again! Thanks for feeding our addiction when we travel through SLC! The line was out the door, but for good reason. Once they're gone, they're gone. They were sadly sold out of a lot of our favorites. Why? Because the kolaches are the best we've ever had!
google avatar

Melanie B.

Yelp
The perfect quick breakfast stop in Salt Lake City! Don't let the line out the door deter you, the staff keeps it moving with efficient service. If you plan in advance you can order take out to skip the line! All Kolaches are displayed for you to see, from savory to sweet and even seasonal options! My go to is always the Sausage, Egg, Cheese and Jalapeño. Don't let the size of the Kolaches fool you, these are small and mighty. One is filling and if you're extra hungry or wearing stretchy pants, splurge and consider a second! You can grab and go or take a seat on the patio out back!

Yelp
Usually someone brings them into my work but I'll tell you what. These things are the best ever. I love them so much they're so good and such good flavor and texture. If you get a chance to buy them, for sure give it a go.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Kolaches are a Czech Pastry. Savory ones filled with seasoned meat, gravy, vegetables, or Sweet Kolaches made with sweet cream cheese or in-house fruit jams on top of a soft bread/rolls. I got the featured ones from Food Networks; sausage and gravy and the raspberry cream. My wife got the mixed berry kolache. All were good. I am glad we tried them.

Yelp
It's been quite a few years since I was last in to Hruska's. You can tell inflation has hit everyone was prices are more expensive than they used to be. But these are worth the price! I came in to get treats for a co-worker's last day, because I thought there would only be sweets. I wanted something a little more substantial. It was a hit! I ordered a dozen variety of mainly the savory Kolaches. I especially loved the Texan and Pulled Pork. I saw a friend's post recently and they even had a pizza option! The Maple Pecan was great too! I'm glad ai got there early as I know these tend to sell out relatively quickly.

Yelp
I am usually pretty generous with my ratings but Hruska's Kolaches TRULY earned all 5-stars. The food here is delicious. I love to get both savory and sweet kolaches. Either are amazing. They also have nice drinks to-go if you want. There isn't seating inside, but these are easy to eat without sitting down. When I have friends in town, this is always a place I love to bring them. It never disappoints.

Yelp
Wow, this place was amazing! Loved the sausage, egg w/jalepeno but everything else we got was just as good. We also had the Nutella, strawberry, cream cheese, bacon& egg, sausage & egg and everything was so good. Expect long lines but it'll be worth it!!!
google avatar

Yelp
My only complaint it that there isn't a location down the street from my house...probably for the best. love this place!

Yelp
With locations in Provo, American Fork, West Jordan and Salt Lake City it can safely be said that Hruska's is a growing concern, the brand begun in 2014 by a Texas family with Czech roots slowly building a fanbase through traditional Kolaches with both modern and vintage fillings. Owned by the trio who came to Utah for school, one a Chef but all three learning the trade, it is inside shabby chic confines that guests will find a team hard t work making twenty-plus varieties from scratch daily. Already popular before a Guy Fieri feature, though Hruska's Salt Lake City's location is now prone to selling out of more popular items early, the key to a good Kolache is getting Dough to rise in a manner where fillings are supported without being too dense and Ross' version accomplishes this admirably. More buttery than many tasted in Texas, savories tanning like a Dinner Roll around hearty Sausage Gravy or all the Ingredients of a traditional Monte Cristo Sandwich, Hruska's best seller remains Raspberry with Cream Cheese that eats like a Danish with more heft while seasonal flavors like Maple Pecan are also delicious.

Yelp
I never had kolaches before and it was on must-eat list for Salt Lake City so I had to try it. We came at around noon so some of the flavors were sold out. My kid insisted to eat there since it smelled so good which was a good thing as I went back to buy some more since it was that good! - Egg & bacon: it was perfect for breakfast. The bun was soft and fluffy. The egg and bacon filling was seasoned well. - Bacon, egg & cheese: another perfect breakfast with fluffy bun and extra smokiness from bacon. - Mexican omelet: my favorite! It was delicious with a hint of spiciness (egg, tomato, cilantro, avocado, poblano). - Blackberry: it was good. The bun was as fluffy and soft but I prefer the savory ones. We would definitely buy this for breakfast (and snacks) when we were in the area again!

Yelp
An amazing breakfast. Had the sausage gravy Kolaches, as seen on Diners, Drive-In's and Dives, one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had. The rest of our group had bacon, egg and jalapeño kolaches and the egg and avocado Kolaches. Everyone agreed they were amazing. Picked up some cheese, cherry and maple Danishes for desert. Glad my wife watched that episode. Another great meal in Salt Lake City. Guy, thanks for visiting this gem!! Oh by the way, no where to eat in so.......
google avatar

Emily S.

Yelp
The line on Saturday may look long but it moves quickly and is worth the wait! Arrive early for the best selection as they will sell out. Unique breakfast pastry with both sweet and savory options - can't go wrong with anything you choose from here. No seating inside, but there are a few tables outside behind the store

Yelp
A must try! If we lived here we would be here every weekend! The kolachès are delicious! The gravy one was incredible! The texture of the bun was spot on, not soggy at all! We tried 8 different ones and they were all delicious!! Will absolutely be back next time we are in town!
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
This place more than lived up to the expectations. The sausage gravy Kolaches and bacon/egg/cheese were delicious, as well as the cinnamon. Definitely going back when I'm in Utah again.
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
Our company orders kolaches for staff meeting and every employee thoroughly enjoys them! We recently had an issue with DoorDash and the company was so willing to help us and worked through the issues. The food is delicious and always fresh tasting. We LOVE this company!!
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in while visiting SLC as we love Kolaches. These did not disappoint at all! Purchased a variety of savory ones (ham, sausage, sausage and gravy) and wished I had arrived earlier to get the speciality ones of the day. These kolaches were nice sized and filled to the brim with delicious fillings. Will come back for sure on our next visit.
google avatar

Jeff G.

Yelp
Hruskas is one of my favorite SLC food establishments. I have to fight tooth and nail NOT to come here every Friday for their weekend specials. I've probably tried every flavor of kolache and they're all next level. Make sure you get their early before they sell out, and be prepared to stand in line for 5-10 minutes. My personal favorites are Texas Style, Sausage Egg Cheese and Jalapeño, Cinnamon and Raspberry.
google avatar

Georgieann M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to order from! ALWAYS delicious. Just like everyone else has recommended, get there early! Or you might miss out on the one you want to order! I have tried every kind of kolache they sell and they are all good. Soft warm dough filled with warm eggs, bacon, and jalapeno is my favorite among the savory choices. Maple pecan is my favorite among the sweet. I love pecans, plus it is just sweet enough. Again, they are ALL yummy! Their homemade jams for the fruit kolaches are all tasty. Unfortunately, I don't often have the chance to stop there to pick up kolaches myself. I typically have it delivered. However, I do recommend you stop in! They have "special" kolaches that they make that aren't on the delivery menus! It is how I was able to try the Frodo's Revenge kolache! I was free on a Saturday morning to stop by the store! And I was lucky enough to have perfect timing and there wasn't a line! There was one by the time I left though. I cannot say enough good things about this place!
google avatar

Katelyn L.

Yelp
Delicious Kolaches. All that we've tried have been so good! They sell out fast so it's best to get there early for a good selection.
google avatar

Michelle N.

Yelp
I came 20 minutes before they closed and luckily they had all the kolaches I wanted to get (although most were getting close to being sold out). I loved all the ones I got including the sausage & gravy, Mexican omelet, sausage jalapeño, and strawberry. Don't forget about the sweet kolaches because they are delicious! They have ketchup and mustard if you ask, I got the ketchup and it seemed homemade. A hot sauce would be amazing with the savory if they carried any. You can also ask them to warm up your kolaches if they don't already ask you!

Alex H.

Yelp
This place has always been a favorite of mine, and today just solidified not only how incredible the food is, but how understanding and caring the staff are too. Thank you for always creating such a wonderful environment!
google avatar

Lindsey H.

Yelp
Still an incredible addition to the neighborhood. It is rare that I want to applaud when I see a line out the door somewhere but they deserve a line. And it is worth the relatively short wait. They hustle to keep those kolaches coming and they can never do any wrong. 5 years and I have yet to find an eggshell.
google avatar

Christianna D.

Yelp
I love the fruit filled ones. All are so good! The savory ones have a spice in them that I'm not big on but still delicious. Eat them soon after purchase cause they are warm and better that way.
google avatar

Don K.

Yelp
Breakfast on the road was never better! First time having kolaches and I'm converted for life. The soft dough is so heavenly. Got there just before a horde arrived. Very small shared parking area. Street construction also hampers a quick visit. The special Carolina Jackfruit was like having pulled pork seasoned with that Carolina vinegary sauce. And the previous reviewer's description of the maple pecan was just so right; sweet without being sugary. Even their decor is special. It's no wonder that they have such a loyal following. Forgot to order coffee though. Too excited about the kolaches apparently.
google avatar

Janice B.

Yelp
OMG these Kolaches were amazing! We ordered ahead of time and bypassed the line. Being from Texas I know what to expect when ordering Kolaches. We were driving from Reno to Park City and scheduled a 10 AM pick up. We ordered 4 Apricots, 4 Raspberries and 4 Maple Pecan and they were awesome! Thank you Hruska's for a yummy comfort food that was so enjoyable!
google avatar

Angie M.

Yelp
Hruska's makes a set amount of kolaches each day and closes when they are gone, so come early. My brother and I grew up eating runzas, so they reminded us of that. The Mexican omelet one was good and I loved the fruit ones, especially the peach. Make sure you check your order and get a receipt, mistakes are common.
google avatar

Robert H.

Yelp
So this place is obviously well known. Line out the door even after 10am. Extremely friendly service and they are delicious. If you want a kolache and you're in Salt Lake City Utah...get a dozen plus one extra just because!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Delicious! I just tried a few weeks ago and have already been back multiple times. Their savory ones are great, but the raspberry one is fantastic!

Yelp
(4-13-24) I was in Town this last weekend for a Wedding. My Job was to pick-up a Huge Order of Various Kolaches. I've never had a Kolache before or even hear of them. I was shocked when I pulled up just after 7am to see a line already.(This is a Great Sign) I waited in Line for the Order and it wasn't long cause they are Fast & Efficient. The Gentleman at the Counter, showed me my Order and Immediately grabbed boxes to help me take them to my Car! Super Friendly people. However, I had one Hiccup I had to put them in a Fridge for later and the Boxes they were in, were too large to fit in a Regular size Fridge. I went back to ask if I could buy some of their Smaller Boxes. Without hesitation, they counted out the Boxes I would need and gave them to me for FREE! Of course, my Curiosity got the Best of me and I had to try these things. By now my Car was filled with this Kolache aroma to die for. So, popped open a Box to Give em a try! Well......after number 5 I decided that was good enough for my Delivery Fee LOL!!! Wow, Deliciousness x Deliciousness. I had the Bacon/Egg, Sausage/Egg, and TEXAN! TEXAN was my Favorite FYI. This place is the Best, and I'm definitely a Fan! Don't be afraid if you see a line at this place. Its worth the wait, but they are Fast and you won't have to wait long. You deserve 5 Stars!!!

Yelp
As a born Texan, kolaches are a big Texas breakfast staple. I moved out of Texas in 2010 and have been in search for a good kolache for years. In my travels to SLC I came across Hruska's and went for it. 10/10 worth the drive into West Jordan. I had the Sausage, Egg and Jalapeño, and the mixed berry kolache. The dough was light, the fillings were delicious. Not to mention, the home made hot sauce was legit spicy.

Paulina R.

Yelp
Always a great day when I visit. Food is delicious. Everyone is friendly. Place is cozy and fun.
google avatar

Christine W.

Yelp
The perfect place for a pit stop! Friendly staff, clean bathrooms, lots of great little gifts, and delicious food! What more could you want?
google avatar

Allison H.

Yelp
OMG SO GOOD. I thought I was just going to get a kolache, but 6 of them later I finally made it out alive. I can't tell which was my favorite, but definitely try the mixed berry, sausage and gravy, sausage + egg + cheese, and the blueberry.

Pam C.

Yelp
Best pastry I have EVER tasted! Wish they were open longer hours. Never disappointed with any of the flavors.

Zach F.

Yelp
Very good, don't miss the Monte Christo! Fast and full of flavor. We were in town to ski and it was so convenient to grab and go on the way

Yelp
Typically I rebel against trendy things that require standing in a long line. (Herd mentality, I suppose.) But early one Saturday morning I found myself in line for Hruska's Kolaches. Kolaches come with different fillings, both sweet and savory, and some I liked better than others, but all of them were fun and tasty. Hruska's isn't a sit-down breakfast kind of place, but we did enjoy our kolaches on the drive home and it was worth it to stand in line early in the morning, just to be sure we got some before they were gone. (PS: Pass on the coffee. You can get better coffee at an AA meeting.) (PSS: When it's your turn to bring donuts to the meeting, skip the donuts and bring Kolaches instead. Everyone will think you are the cool kid!)
google avatar

Sonia P.

Yelp
Little whole in the wall type of place. It was highly recommended for my trip to try this spot and glad we did. The sausage and gravy is the best! It's so light and flavorful I wish this spot was close to me I'd probably be were weekly. We are tried the egg and sausage and Nutella strawberry everything was good
google avatar

John V.

Yelp
I think I've tried most of the options and have yet to have a bad Kolaches. It may be a little too savory for some. One kolache is way more filling than one would think for breakfast. I think my favorite is the bacon, egg and cheese with jalapeño. Not a big sugar person in general so the cinnamon or plain with cream cheese is my choice for the sweet version that looks like a Danish. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely a flavor for everyone.
google avatar

Mehak J.

Yelp
This had been on my list since sometime. The kolaches were soft and fresh and all the flavors I bought were deliciousss! (Raspberry, Cream, mixed berry, cinnamon) I kinda regret not buying a 12 pack and trying out their savory ones. Gotta go again :D
google avatar

Drew R.

Yelp
I've heard about this place for so long and also heard that they run out of pastries quickly. So it's a high recommendation to go earlier in the day or you won't get any. Once they run out they are done for the day. I did an advance order cause I was ordering a big order. This place specializes in kolaches. It's a very delicious pastry filled with either a savory stuffing or a sweet fruit stuffing. The savory ones are stuffed and one will definitely be enough for breakfast. I ordered both the savory and sweet one. The egg kolache is very delicious and the Mexican kolache was also very good. The egg stuff kolache is a very good breakfast or brunch. The Mexican one has eggs and a slight tangy taste to it. There is other veggies in there but I didn't recognize it. The fruit sweet ones are delicious. It's not too sweet go it's still perfect for breakfast. I do prefer the fruit only ones over the one with cream cheese. Highly recommend this place. And I also heard that they have a Saturday once a year that they do all you can kolaches. Worth it!!!!!

Arlo R.

Yelp
Incredibly delicious, I work nearby so I was happy to see it delivered in the morning on a day I forgot to pack breakfast AND lunch...LOL. Got the bacon/egg and mixed berry+cream kolaches, some tasty savory and sweet, lovely! Berries and cream pastries of any kind are my favorite, and these did not dissapoint, so delicious and soft. The egg and bacon was also so tasty, a warm savory bun perfect to start my day properly. Thanks a million!
google avatar

Ciarra J.

Yelp
Greeted as soon as I walked in with a huge smile (well they had a mask on but I could feel the smile ) So I asked what was best because while I saw this place on The Food Network (Triple D) I am a newbie. I got three (don't judge me) A tex mex one with no meat, maple pecan, and the blackberry cream cheese. Since I had never had one I did not know what to expect. Listen Honey each one was delicious. Egg one was flavorful and full with veggies Blackberry was fresh Maple Pecan changed my life and my waistline (sorry no picture it was that good) The dough was soft and all fillings were fresh. It's a winner for me!
google avatar

Nandini C.

Yelp
Good selection of sweet and savory kolaches for breakfast. They open super early (6:30 AM) and there's usually a line out the door on Saturdays.

Yelp
I lived in Texas for eight years, so after seeing this kolache spot on Yelp while we were visiting Utah, I knew we had to stop and we weren't disappointed. It's located in Sugar House which google has no Issue getting us there, but as leaving to head towards Boise it took us through a neighborhood when we should have just back tracked. It's in a smaller older plaza tucked away in the corner. By the time we made it they were out of several options but still has a few breakfast and fruit kolaches available around 1145am on a Friday. The Golden Nuggets of breakfast goodies-eggs, bacon and cheese was a party in my mouth. I overheard a customer ask for their sauce so I jumped at that and it was like a chili oil of some sort that gave a nice kick. Truly delicious and worth the stop.

Yelp
We were not planning on eating here but we saw the line out the door and decided to try it since it seemed so popular and we are so glad we did! Absolutely delicious kolaches!! We did a savory and sweet one and highly recommend both. My favorite was the maple pecan. The line moved fast, there were a lot of options, the staff was nice, we would definitely go back!
