HSZ Hotel Speicher am Ziegelsee GmbH

The rooms were nice, the facilities average but the food, considering it's a 4 star hotel, was really bad. The bread at breakfast was dry, as if it was from the previous day. At dinner the meat was overcooked - we had a hard time chewing it - the wine had a weird taste, the dessert was almost not touched and the staff didn't even bother to ask why we didn't eat or if we liked it, they just didn't care. This is unacceptable for the pricey room in a 4 star hotel.

Restored grain mill. Lovely waterfront location in a suburban neighbourhood about 20 minutes walk from the town centre. Free parking with ample spaces in secure carpark. There are two EV chargers available. Reception team and service were wonderful. Great breakfast and we enjoyed a lovely meal one evening with excellent cocktails. The hotel has a traditional feel and the rooms are well decorated and spacious. We had a great stay and found the hotel very relaxing.

We stayed here over NYE. We were lucky enough to be staying in one of the studios, which, of course, is a little more expensive than the regular rooms. But well worth it. Nice lighting in the room, comfortable bed, spacious. We will certainly come again and now that we are spoilt, not taking the studio will be hard. Only downside: our studio had limited view of the lake. We did see the lake though from the room. Just not a full view of it. ||||I rented a bamboo bike, which is super handy and they are decent bikes. E-charging is available to guests and the bar looks fantastic, though we didn't visit the bar. Since the restaurant was booked out for NYE, we didn't try it. We will try it next time. Breakfast was decent: oat milk, soy milk etc. also available, which is a bonus. ||||Friendly staff. All in all, a super stay at a super hotel in Schwerin in top location. Will be nice go go again in summer.

A very friendly and professional welcome was a great start. Full marks to Hotel Speicher for being environmentally friendly. Also top marks for the excellent restaurant. Rooms are comfortable but we missed having a minibar / fridge to cool our drinks (probably not present due to power usage?). Internet is blazingly fast - 85Mbps up and download.|Breakfast was good but the rolls were a bit hard. Excellent latte and espresso.||It's a long walk into town - 20-25 minutes to the Schloss - bear this in mind when booking. This place is great. I haven’t found a flaw yet.||It’s on the east side of one of the smaller lakes and only 1 1/2 km from the town center. It’s quiet at night. Views from the rooms are excellent. I’m listening to church bells as I write this from my room.||Staff are all incredibly welcoming. The receptionist was very accommodating and allowed me to check in several hours early.||The bar tender was knowledgeable and friendly. We chatted as he polished every glass that came, spotless already, out of the dishwasher.||Fresh apples by reception, tasty apples.||The private cabanas facing the late were a treat. With full bar, coffee, and ice cream service.||The rooms are furnished in modern style. Beds are very, very comfortable.||WiFi signal is excellent, more than good enough to host worldwide video conferences.||This is just a wonderful place

Unfortunately we did not feel welcome, more of an inconvenience. They did small things that were money grabbing, for example charging for tap water! For the cost, I suggest avoiding. They charge €2.50 for tap water in the bar, even if you are staying at the hotel!

The staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is well locate juat in front of the lake and 15min walk from the center. The breakfast are very nice and fresh. There is no many options for vegans on the restaurant menu bit they will do their best to offer something by request. I really enjoy the days there, calm, clean and tidy. The room is simple, take one with the windows to the lake and enjoy the light in the morning, really beautiful. The bar is definitely a spot to go, they are super friendly and know how to make you feel comfy!

I felt so safe when staying at Hotel Speicher am Ziegelsee. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make sure that my stay was allergy free and safe. I have a number of allergies and they accomodated all of my food allergies. I had the best meal of local fish and vegetables plus dessert which I never get. The chef and staff here made my first trip to Germany memorable. The unique hotel is clean and well sanitized and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Definitely a 5 star experience.
