@Hua Lamphong Hostel is good for its price and location. The hostel is right next to the MRT Hua Lamphong station, only a few meters away. This makes it very easy to travel and explore many popular areas, such as café hopping in Song Wat, street food in Yaowarat (Chinatown), historical and cultural sites in Phra Nakhon and the Grand Palace, or shopping in Silom and Lumpini.
There is also a 7-Eleven convenience store within 300 meters, so food and drinks are easy to find at any time.
The hostel has different types of rooms. There are dormitory rooms, which are cheaper but have less privacy, and private rooms with a private bathroom. I stayed in a Standard Double Room on the 5th floor, which seems to have only private rooms. The room is not big but comfortable for two people. If you have large suitcases, there may not be enough space to open them at the same time.
The room has basic facilities, including a TV, air conditioner, hair dryer, kettle, tea and coffee set, small refrigerator, and two bottles of water. There is also a safe box but it did not work in my room, possibly because the battery was dead.
The bathroom is a good size and comes with soap and shampoo. However, the sink is quite small and a bit difficult to use because of the shelf above it.
Overall, this hostel is good value for money, especially because of its excellent location. You can easily travel around Bangkok by MRT, and there is a 24-hour 7-Eleven nearby, so you don’t have to worry about getting hungry late at night. I recommend this hostel if you are looking for an affordable place with a great location.
