Local catch of the day was available in the market like tuna, coral fish, golden threadfin bream etc. Some were seasonal.
Other seafood like shrimps, prawns, squid, octopus and fish could be found there. Vegetables, eggs, snacks and some herbs were available too.
Prices were relatively lower than those near the tourist area.

In Ko Samui, a market place like this is very rare to find. The market is not very big but you can get things like nuts and dry foods. My team mates bought white onions claiming that the quality is great. Nearby you can walk by the beach and take some photos. Not far from there you can reach the famous Hainan chicken rice shop.

Hua Thanon Wet Market is a very small local market that is truly authentic. Hua Thanon is still a real fisherman's village, one of the oldest areas on the island, and what's caught off the coast here is still actually sold in the village. A few tourists come to visit, but it's nothing like the other more touristy markets around. I would definitely recommend a quick hour visit to the area to enjoy the beautiful ocean views in a real fisherman's village and see and enjoy the abundance of the market.

Very interesting to see how local Thai people live and make a living. You could say this is the real fisherman's village. Plenty of local produce available. This is not at all touristy and aimed very much at local people, our tour man asked us if we wanted to see a quieter side to the island.

Market for for fresh fish, meat and veggies..
It's a Thai style market...
It's interesting to walk through the village, probably the best example of a true "Thai village" on Samui.

The people in this market so kind and always smile. We just walk around and look at the fresh fish and buy some fruit. So nice to visit ☺️

It is always worth a visit as everything is so different from Europe. Don't be put off that this market is in a Muslim village because the sellers are friendly and very helpful too. It is a fish, meat, vegetable and fruit market, and the prices are of course very reasonable. It is also worth having a walk around the environs of this market as well as it an interesting place on itself. The dancing ladies we found at the back of the market on the pier car park at 6.15pm on a Monday evening!
