Surprise! A great restaurant despite being in a time shares compound. I usually don’t think of restaurants that are part of a hotel and outstanding so I was quite surprised. The location is beautiful with a look out over the ocean and infinity pools. The service was prompt and friendly. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered suggestions. These days I find it hard to say the meal was worth the price but true here. Yes it’s expensive. Yes it’s delicious! Dinner was 3 entrees and the scallop appetizer. Filet mignon was cooked to a perfect medium rare and so tender. The marinated seabass was delicate and flavorful. The captains combo offered unique flavors to ahi and unaga. The portions were filling. In fact we didn’t have room for desert.

Favorite food on the island. Service was lovely. Tristan was so kind and thoughtful. We started with the kale salad, lobster tempura, and coconut shrimp and they were so so good. For the main course my wife got the kalbi lamb chops and I got the rib eye and we both loved and enjoyed our meals. Will be back before we leave!

Google
Service staff was very helpful. We came for an early dinner and was able to get outdoor seating with a view. The lamb chop had a korean flavor with jun as the starch. There could have been a korean pickled vegetable instead of the traditional pickled ginger. The dry aged rib eye was cooked as requested with good flavor consistent with dry aging. Tiramisu could have more rum. I.e. soaking the cake with rum like bucca de beppo. Sorry i like the rum flavor.

Hualani’s is a beautiful cliffside restaurant overlooking the ocean. It is the main restaurant of Timbers Kauai resort and one of our favorite places on the island to enjoy a nice romantic dinner. Service here is always friendly and the views are hard to beat. I’d recommend going for an earlier dinner so you can catch the view as the sun is setting. The food is nothing spectacular but it is good and when paired with the views, live entertainment, friendly service, and awesome drinks, it does create a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. While we do enjoy the food here I think we really continue to come back for the combination of all its elements. One downside I will note is that the restaurant is near the airport so you may see planes take off and land from time to time. It can be a little loud sometimes but it’s never been really frequent while we were there and not bad enough to ruin our experience. If it’s something that you think may be enough to spoil your evening then you might want to look elsewhere. Otherwise, I think this place is worth a try. We will definitely be back again. Google
Fantastic food!!! The dynamite fish and the Misoyaki sea bass were the absolute highlights and the best food we've had on the whole island. The banana foam espresso Martini was also really tasty! The lava cake for dessert was a little too dry for my taste. Expensive but well worth it! Also really nice atmosphere on the patio with live music.

The BEST meal we had in Kauai! Everything about Hualani’s was spectacular. There is valet parking upon arriving and as you enter the restaurant and descend the stairs, you are serenaded by live beautiful music. The views are breathtaking and the staff was so sweet. The food!! In my family, we love to share and try each others’ meals, and the staff was so nice to split up the order of ribs onto two plates for us. The mashed potatoes that came with the ribs was TO DIE FOR. I ordered the sea bass and my brother ordered the fettuccine. The sea bass was just fantastic and was complimented by the sauce beautifully. We ended with the cheesecake and just wow. It was so delicious. Would definitely recommend!!

Google
This was hands down one of the best meals we’ve had while visiting Kaua’i. We started with the mango and mozzarella appetizer. It was so fresh, light, and flavorful. My husband got the shrimp fettuccine with an added lobster tail. He said it was one of the best lobster tails he’s ever had, and the shrimp were very flavorful. I had the Thai coconut curry. The macadamia nuts and fresh mango compote on top added a wonderful freshness and crunch that the curry needed. It was spicy, creamy, and packed full of flavor. For dessert, my husband had the warm chocolate cake, and it was rich, gooey, so chocolatey. I had a mango tart with coconut sorbet and pineapple sorbet, with fresh mango slices. It was a wonderful end to an amazing dinner!

Google
The most overrated restaurant in the area. We had high hopes for this one, but from food to service, everything was lacking the vibe. The costly red wine bottle was warm, warmer than the mid-June temperature. The food was okay, only the scallops were good.

Yelp
Farm-to-table and ocean-to-table! The menu is great! The farm-to-table items come principally from local farms, including a farm located within the Hokuala community. So many great vegetables at Hualani's! And, since I am principally vegan (except for fish and pecorino Romano on pasta) this aspect of Huilani's is crucial for me! Pumpkin, white squash, okra, kale, green beans, wing beans, bitter melon, basil, onions and more - on a seasonal basis! Divine! Then the fish! Awesome! Sea bass (Hapu'upu'u), ahi, kampachi, ono, maona, snapper, grouper, octopus, squirrel fish, mahi-mahi and more based on available catch. Service is provided by friendly staff. They know their restaurant well! And the views from Huilani's and the overall setting is a slice of paradise! I love Huilani's!!

Yelp
Best meal we had on Kauai! This place is next level dining. XOXO Potstickers - WOW. Brilliant dish. Tender Braised Short Rib filling served with a creamy unctuous XO Butter Sauce. One of the best fusion ideas ever. 5+++ stars! Rice Cracker Crusted Opah - perfectly cooked tender fish with a fabulous crunchy coating combined with a nice amount of sweet from the mango sauce on top and Miso Butter sauce underneath. Grilled bok choy was ok but the dish was so good! 5 stars! Dynamite Kona Kampachi - the fairly mild Gochujang cream sauce was delightful with the kampachi, pan-seared to perfection. The coconut was subtle in the Jasmine Rice but a great carrier for mopping up all that wonderful sauce. The crushed avocado with greens on top was a creative and tasty little addition. 5+ stars! I'm always loving restaurants with fresh catch and creative farm to table offerings. The view was lovely and we enjoyed the live music and sunset ceremony. Whenever we're in Kauai we'll be here!

Yelp
Our family has been coming to Kauai for many years and just discovered Hualani's. It is a beautiful restaurant with a gorgeous view. We celebrated our daughter's birthday there and it was a wonderful evening of delicious food, elegant ambience and wonderful service. We sat out on the outdoor patio then it was just a happy place to be. Our server Tina was very attentive, funny and kind. The entrée entrées and specials were pricey, but for a special occasion, it's worth it. Definitely highly recommend as a place to visit.

Yelp
Hualani's is a great spot on Kauai to have a more elevated experience. The restaurant is located in a resort area, and is part of a hotel that's right on the water. We were lucky to be seated at a spot with an unobstructed view of the ocean. I got the catch of the day, which had a beautiful crust and a tasty sauce. We also got seared scallops, which were great! The "cheesecake" left something to be desired. Not much flavor, but it looked cool. There were plenty of drink options, and our server was so helpful and attentive! She gave great recommendations. If you're looking for a nice dinner with a nice view, this spot should be on your list.

Yelp
A great dinner for our last night on the island! Service was perfect, friendly and great recs. We enjoyed all the apps, especially the giant whole fish! Definitely a sharing dish! We shared a bunch of apps and mains so tried a little bit of everything. All the food was great. Nicely cooked and good seasoning and flavor! It's hard to pick a favorite but if I had to pick the scallops were a real standout!

Yelp
When we visit Kauai every other year, we always make a point to dine once or twice. The atmosphere is very romantic with the palm trees swaying and the sound of the ocean. We started off with Pina Colada with Bacardi rum, $17, that our friend ordered and she said it was so good she could picked the inside of the glass. I had a Modelo, $7 and my wife had the Truchard Pinot Noir, $18. Our appetizers included Coconut Shrimp (5), $23, which were tasty and Papaya & mozzarella,$18. This was the first time I tried their Filet Mignon, $65, and doesn't come close to the ones we get in the mainland. Even though it tasted good, the texture of the meat was stringy. Our friend ordered the smoke ribs, $47, which were tasty, tender and finger licking good. My wife had the Ahi Tataki, $27. Our server was okay nothing really special. Our dining experience was very nice, we chatted for awhile and no one rushed us off the table. Always a pleasant experience.

Yelp
Amazing dining experience tonight with excellent food and beautiful views of the bay. Our server Tristen was excellent. He explained the specials, menu, and answered all our questions. He was very personable and contributed to making our dining experience wonderful. The ribeye steak was tender, so tender that it felt like it was prime +++. The miso seabass has an excellent flavor which seemed to be just infused in the fish Wow!! The views were remarkable of course and we were treated to a nice Hula performance which was a very nice touch! If you're ever in the Lihue area for dinner, Hualanis is definitely a wonderful choice.

Yelp
One stop shop, food, drinks, and entertainment. We dined here with another couple on a recommended from a local. We stared out at the bar for Happy Hour, then moved to our table for diner. Our waiter was so nice and recommended a few options. Two of us had the fish and two of us had steaks. Everything was delicious. The restroom was clean and even smelled really good. The outdoor dining overlooks the ocean and a lighthouse. We saw a cruise ship passing by as well. This experience was pricey but worth the splurge.

Yelp
Had our wedding dinner reception here in the private dining room. While there were some initial communication hiccups booking with them, we were overall happy with our dinner-the food and service were excellent! Our main server, Matt was awesome-so we definitely have to give a shout out to him! He was on point, professional, and ensured our dinner service ran smoothly. All of our guests loved the prefixe meal and the appetizers of fried fish and sticky ribs that we added too. They were super impressed with both of the food quality and the venue. Our prefixe meal included kale salad, filet mignon/kauai shrimp pasta/or bubu arare onaga fish. Each dish was flavorful and each subsequent dish was even more amazing than the next. We brought our own accoutrements (centerpieces, name placards, and wedding cake) which helped to personalize things too. Highly recommend Hualani's if you're planning an elevated group dinner! Will definitely return too next time we're here.

Yelp
Excellent food and great service. View of the ocean. Hard to find but well worth it. Michelin star. Appetizers: fried coconut shrimp, sticky ribs, fried fish, kale salad with anchovies dressing Filet mignon with Yukon gold mashed potatoes and bok Choy. Dessert: chocolate cake with macadamia nut coffee ice cream was the best!

Yelp
What a fabulous find! Nestled in with private homes this fantastic restaurant has wonderful drinks food service and views! Danielle was outstanding! We were a bit early for dinner and were able to sit at the bar for happy hour. The red snapper was melt in your mouth delicious. Papaya something for desert was different and delicious. The Hawaiian pain killer delivered! By the end of our meal the restaurant was packed. Definitely make a reservation

Yelp
Beautiful setting at the end of a twisty driveway that also passes by other hotels in the same huge area; the Hualani is downstairs from the hotel lobby. Our server Breena was amazing, helpful and friendly, and considerate of my allergy to chiles. She made sure to ask the chef if my order could pose a problem, which it didn't; I thoroughly enjoyed my Fettuccine with asian pesto, mushrooms, okra, tomatoes and creamy parmesan sauce. My drink of choice was the Queen Bee's Knees : delicate and served in a cup glass. The view on the terrace is stunning, the infinity pools made me want to stay an extra day at this hotel/timeshare resort! There's a golf course and a lighthouse at the far end of a dirt road that you can see from the restaurant. Very relaxing lunch here before flying back home. Mahalo for a lovely experience!
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
Five stars for service for Justin. Super accommodating with my allergy as I was about to board a flight going home. The food was very good and beautiful views of the water
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful place, service was wonderful but it is on the higher end of things food was good but needed something
google avatar

Daniel C.

Yelp
Food is excellent and the view is fantastic. Go here often for lunch. Staff is very attentive. Open air with the infinity pool that opens up to the expanse of the bay.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing views and great food and drinks. We came for a birthday lunch, it's a part of a hotel close to where we stayed.
google avatar

Mel Y.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place. Although a tad bit expensive (but expected due to location) the view was well worth it. The fish was fresh and cooked well and there were a lot of options for entrees, appetizers, and also drinks. Took a bit of time after ordering and sat for a while waiting for the check as it got really busy. Didn't really mind due to the amazing view during golden hour. Great place to celebrate special moments for locals or a nice meal for vacationers!

Yelp
After landing in Kauai today for the first time, we headed to Hualani's ready to eat. I had found this place here on Yelp and wanted the view I flew many hours to see. The patio and view DID NOT disappoint, however, I didn't realize there wasn't a whole menu for "Pau Hana." Anyways, we got the smoked Ahi dip(gluten free) and coconut shrimp. I did try the shrimp although they weren't gluten free and they were amazing! The sauce took those perfectly cooked shrimp all the way. The Ahi dip was good too, but needed just a little something that was missing. Idk. Can't put my finger on it. Would def eat it both again, but would to come back for a full service meal time. Tip: they do valet only so don't drive around looking for parking
google avatar

Ell J.

Yelp
Amazing everything is amazing! Come here instead of some chain that is over priced for bland food like Dukes
google avatar

Chesa L.

Yelp
This was our first stop on Kaua'i and oh my, what a beautiful setting -- right on the ocean! It's part of a villa resort program, but anyone is welcome to dine. The farm-to-table menu was fresh and delicious, and every bite felt like a taste of the island. It is definitely on the pricier side, but absolutely worth the splurge for the view, the service, and the experience.
google avatar

Carrie R.

Yelp
Beautiful view of the ocean, open air, beautiful bar, live music and a couple Hawaiian's doing a ceremony. Our family of 4 (2 elementary age kids) had a lovely dinner here. Service was attentive and kind. Cocktails were so good- had some version of a Mai tai. Had mocktails for the kids which is always a treat. Favorites were the scallops- cooked perfectly and sauce was delicious. And the whole fish- really tasty - had a Thai flair to it with lime and cooked well! Lastly my daughter's Mac & cheese was surprisingly delicious! Valet service for parking. I'd come early for the views of the ocean and seating in the hotel lobby deck- great photo- ops there and on the lawn outside the restaurant.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Holy moly you know how you really like a place and give it 5 stars but then you go somewhere that blows all of you 5 star reviews out of the water? This is it. Free valet at the entrance. Recommend making a reservation. I booked them for my husband's birthday and requested a table with a view it did not disappoint. Food was excellent!!! Highly recommend the coconut shrimp appetizer and the lychee ribs entreee!!! Omg fall off the bone deliciousness!! Staff was amazing and my baby loved her grilled chicken entree. Fresh beautiful vegetables. Just fantastic. Cute birthday dessert too thank you!
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Had some time before return flight so selected this interesting restaurant about 10minutes away. It's located deep within other building condos and golf course but eventually you reach the lobby on the coast. Enjoyed happy hour drinks; Mai tai and a great new drink for me, a Painkiller. Service was very attentive and friendly. Dinner was amazing; we enjoyed the onion soup (great broth and cheeses) and blackened scallops (best preparation!). Dinner was a great sea bass and fresh fish called Bubu Apare. The seating was right up to the water with unrestricted view of the ocean, lighthouse, and evening sailing regatta. This will definitely be where we come to when catching our flight back stateside; a great ending to a great trip!
google avatar

Marie J.

Yelp
The food was very tasty. I only wish I was with a bigger party so I could have tried more of it. Otherwise our server was very friendly, attentive and had great recommendations. You must come here at anytime the sun is up. The view is amazing, and you can see the light house from the patio!
google avatar

Jillian G.

Yelp
We had a delicious meal at Hualani's and celebrated a family birthday. The server was very kind and attentive. The ambiance is beautiful especially if you have views of the ocean. All the food was very good and we loved the incorporation of fresh farm produce. The menu online is outdated so call ahead to confirm if there's something specific you want to order.
google avatar

Lori P.

Yelp
Doesn't get much better with this beautiful on the water dinner and bar setting with all local farm and catch to table. Everything was top notch from the happy hour cocktails and coconut shrimp to our dinner entree of a 3lb lightly fried fish the 2 of us shared as a main entree with the ahi appetizer. Our server Tristan was more than attentive and caught all the fine details to even fixing our wobbly table and kept checking in on us. Live music was a nice touch this Monday evening.
google avatar

Lisa S.

Yelp
What a perfect place to end our vacation in March. Hualani's is 10 minutes from Lihue airport. It was a beautiful evening to sit outdoors before jumping on the plane homebound to a snowy winterland in Michigan. We started with the Rosemary Ciabatta w/olive oil & balsamic. The bread was light and fluffy, very flavorful. We shared the Signature Pupu, whole fried local Hawaiian fish. What a delicacy! It was lightly battered and very tender. We ordered a side of fresh locally grown vegetables that were nicely seasoned, a perfect accompaniment. Our server was pleasant. We enjoyed a horn show while dining. It was the perfect atmosphere. What a way to top off our trip!
google avatar

Cristine G.

Yelp
Awesome view of the ocean. Sapphire waters as far as the eyes can see. The garden is beautiful as well. Our server Mark was friendly and attentive. I had high expectations for the food being that this place was awarded a Michelin star in 2024. We ordered Macnut local catch (I think he said it was Mahi-Mahi) one for my mom and another for me, Island fish & chips, Penthouse burger, and beets and blue. I was starving so I finished my order. The fish was forgettable, mom barely ate hers. My sister complained that her fish was dry and tough. Tried a piece and I agreed. My son finished his burger, said it was ok. The most flavorful was the beets and bleu salad. Valet parking only.
google avatar

Jill N.

Yelp
Kim our server was awesome and so attentive. The arugula salad and nut crusted fish (I forgot the name) was phenomenal!!!! My friend got the spicy Kapachi which was also delicious. Definitely an amazing place!
google avatar

Lou L.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service with gorgeous views. Breakfast, lunch and happy hour have all been outstanding. Try the catch of the day, the coconut shrimp and the ahi sashimi to name a few to get you started.

Linda H.

Yelp
Free valet service for the restaurant. Absolutely stunning views! The lobster tempura was delicious as well as the filet mignon. I skipped the peppercorn rub on the filet. The chocolate cake with ice cream was small portion wise but delicious.
google avatar

Taylor G.

Yelp
Best dinner we had while in Kauai!!! The views, the food, the service.. everything was spectacular. This is a must stop if you're visiting the island!
google avatar

Charles C.

Yelp
Amazing views, must enjoy before it gets dark as afterwards it's just looking into the abyss and hearing the jets land and takeoff from the airport Ambience is five stars but food and service four stars for the price and ambience. All were solid but none were wow like the views: Chilean Sea Bass, Lychee Smoked Ribs, Fresh Fish of the day, Red Thai Curry, Steak
google avatar

Kaylin S.

Yelp
We did a late night dinner so we only got a few plates but everything we got was really amazing. The items I ordered were their farm to table food. Everything was delish. Their shrimp fettuccine had a twist with tomatoes/ sprouts on it which I had never seen before but everything was so fresh. The server was so friendly. And the view is gorgeous if you can get there before the sun sets.
google avatar

Jennifer W.

Yelp
We had 2 wonderful dinners here during our recent vacation in Kauai. Amazing location and views. Food was fantastic and the ambiance was great. We liked it so much that we booked it again for our last night of vacation. It is the nicest restaurant in Lihue and is one of the best views of all restaurants in Kauai.
google avatar

Kris W.

Yelp
Great homemade food, service and atmosphere!! The view of the ocean was beautiful. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Manning L.

Yelp
Ariel did a great job helping us. We first got seated on the bench next to the bar with a great ocean view. Orders were taken after a little time as there looked to only be 2 waiters/waitresses today at lunch. With the great view, nice breeze and no other plans after lunch, it was great to have time and not feel rushed at dinner. The appetizers were great! The fish tacos were really good as was the Mac crusted fish. The poke had some chili sauce and the taste was hit and miss with my party. The hit was the coconut shrimp. The right amount of crust and nice juicy shrimp inside!
google avatar

Heather V.

Yelp
Definitely recommend the view and the staff is very friendly. The food was not my fav and I am not super picky. We got the The scallop starter - for me, the scallops were overly seasoned. They were served on a bed of guacamole and I love guac- it was just weird. My husband I shared the King Platter - the tuna was very tough and again way over seasoned with the Sam seasoning as the scallops - not a fan. I ordered an Uncle Billie's dessert drink for dessert- description-Khalua and Ice cream - I came as a glass full of ice with Kalua The other fish was fried.

Yelp
I've been meaning to write a review for Hualani's for a while because it's one of those places that always delivers. I've eaten here multiple times and each visit reminds me why I love it. The location alone is unreal with ocean views, open air, and the kind of peaceful vibe that makes you want to linger. The food and drinks are exceptional, especially the fresh fish options. Everything tastes vibrant and perfectly balanced. The service is consistently top-notch. Tristan has been our server twice and he's fantastic. He's professional without being stiff, super friendly, and really seems to care that guests enjoy their experience. If you're visiting Kauai, make time for this place. It's a highlight every single time.

Yelp
Wow! If you're looking for an extraordinary beach front fine dining experience then look no further. We even had a thoughtful traditional Hawaiian dance. Excellent food and service.

Yelp
Great happy hour with Mai Tai's and truffle fries Dinner was sticky ribs, potstickers, and onion soup. Most excellent.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience here on 7/21/25. Booked a reservation about a 2 months out to celebrate by birthday. We were a party of 8 and we were seated right away. The VIEWS are AMAZING. Our server was attentive, kind and patient. Our table ordered the octopus, bread, ahi and potsticker appetizers. We also had the sticky ribs, rib eye, pasta and Sea bass. Everything tasted great. I wished we were able to spend more time there. They also gave me a complimentary cake for my birthday. A must try if you're in Kauai.

Yelp
The location and views at this restaurant were amazing. My husband and I chose to come here for our anniversary dinner and had a nice experience. We asked to sit outside last minute and they were able to accommodate, staff were very nice and water always stayed filled (As a fellow sever i really appreciate that) For our appetizer we got fried octopus it was good but i don't think it's worth $30. I got the Shrimp alfredo the flavor was kind of lacking and the sauce was very watery noodles were very good tho and tasted homemade. My husband got the Ribeye I thought was delicious and so did he. Very glad to have had an experience dining here :)

Yelp
Lauren, our server, was amazing. She was very thorough and even recommended wines based on the apps/entrees we were learning big toward. We landed on the coconut shrimp, watermelon salad and whole fried fish. All amazing. We visited the restaurant for my birth treat and the complimentary dessert was superb! And lastly, the view at dinner was fabulous. Outdoor ocean front will always be how I prefer to enjoy dinner while visiting Hawaii

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Stopped here for some lunch while island hopping. You valet up front for parking and head downstairs to the open air restaurant with incredible views of the water. Keiki chicken fingers hit the spot for them, I ordered Ahi tacos and my husband ordered the Ahi Poke bowl. 10/10 and great prices for lunch. Servers are warm and welcoming.

Yelp
Hualani's was the place to be during sunset. The gorgeous front view of the ocean and lighthouse were to die for. We came when there was a performance and the food was delicious. Our waiter Tron was very informative of the dishes and drinks. We enjoyed our time here. We ordered the coconut shrimps, and potstickers. They both were plentiful of flavor. My friends ordered the sea bass and the fish & chips, Ono seafood dish, and the dynamite dish. Everything was huge in portion and delicious.

Yelp
Went here for drinks only, but the food smelled delicious! If you can't get reservations, they serve food at their bar. Sat at the bar and had a couple of their blended drinks and it was pretty and prices were average at $16 a drink. The Hanalei Bae was good, but the Hawaiian Painkiller was excellent. The property Timbers Kauai is pretty nice with huge units and a golf course on property with a nice view. Parking is valet only which is complimentary if you dine here. We actually parked at the beach access for Kuki'i Point Lighthouse and walked over to the property. However it's only for golf carts and not a walking path.
