8 best kid-friendly restaurants and cafés in Singapore for the whole family - SilverKris

"A bistro attached to a two-storey butchery that features a large, gated, shaded soft-fall playground where kids can run safely before or after a meal. The kitchen emphasizes fresh meat offerings with seven different sausage dishes, burgers including a recommended 21-day dry-aged beef burger, and rich mains like braised beef short rib; German and Swiss beers are available and gourmet pantry produce can be purchased to take home." - Joy Fang

Food is nice and it’s a great family place. The outdoor seating is large and there is also indoor seating. There is normally a very long waiting list for tables and you can’t book one in advance. The downer is that if it’s busy then it takes as long to get the food as it takes to get the table. So about 45 min to get your food after you order it. But sausages tastes good, just like the burgers. On the minus side, my welldone burger was raw inside. But as it took so long to get it I ate it anyway except the most raw part..

Very good service. Mr Monty, Ms Celine & rest of the crew members were prompt & efficient; above all pleasant with their interaction. Food was also very good. French Onion soup, mushroom soup, German sausages & sauerkraut, beef rib brisket, beef burger with bacon & fries. And the beer was good too. Will be back again to try other dishes. Indoor seating is very limited so we had to take a queue for about 15 min before we were seated. There are outdoor seatings which is available right away. 2025 August

Outdoor dining breakfast brunch. Heard of the brags but overall was average in term of food, freshness, presentation, service and atmosphere. My favourite of our order was only the croissant. The cheese was flavourful. The bread was too hard and not warm to my liking when they were on the table; probably from the long walk from their kitchen or the plate was sat long at the pass/window? I gave three stars for service because of the server’s friendliness but it was a long wait from order to food on the table. Many young families’ favourite but if you want to chill for a quiet Sunday morning, this is not the place for you 😆.

One of the best value steak in Singapore, this is one of rare places at around the $30 range where the medium rare steak is actually medium rare throughout. Quality of the steak is well worth the price paid. Taste to your preference with just salt and pepper. The complements are nothing to shout about. The service was exceptional for a bistro, the attentiveness and friendliness of the waiting staff surpasses what you’d generally expect. The tables were a bit small, and we ordered quite a bit, but they managed by accommodating smaller plates without us asking. The ambience though, could use a bit of work. It feels a little dated and no frills. Location is also slightly out-of-the-way unless you drive or live close by. But if you’re here just for the steak, it’s value for money. Worth a try especially if you are in the area.

Massively Overhyped – Really Disappointing I went in with high expectations given all the hype, but this place turned out to be a real letdown. The burger patty was dry and overcooked, even though I specifically asked for medium. It had no flavour, no juiciness—just a dense, bland slab of meat on a dry bun with a bit of melted cheese that didn’t help much. The fries were clearly frozen and undercooked. Soft and starchy in the middle, they didn’t have the crisp you’d expect. For a place that’s supposedly known for burgers and fries, it was shocking how badly both were done. The salad was soggy and lifeless, with wilted greens and a dressing that tasted like it came from a bottle. Even the bread basket felt stale and pointless. Honestly, I don’t understand what the fuss is about. This was just bad food, poorly prepared. I wouldn’t come back, and I wouldn’t recommend it.

i must firstly commend the staff for their warmth and helpfulness and being accommodating. however, the food was a major letdown. i’ve tried several other german food establishments in singapore, and sadly this is by far the worse. the meatloaf was just bland tasting and felt more like luncheon meat out of a tin can, a very weird rendition of meatloaf. the chicken schnitzel sandwich was barely edible too. the bread was very hard, and the chicken was hardly crispy and the sandwich overall and had very little sauces, making it dry. the berliner wurst was a huge letdown too and just tasted bad. would not recommend this place, i just don’t get the hype and good reviews at all. it’s not the best ambience either especially during warm and humid weather.

One of our favourite steak places in SG. Celebrated the bf's birthday here last night. We were dreaming of which steak to get..... only to get there and be told that they did away with their steak menu for the time being and were promoting the white asparagus one. :( Tried the lamb.. it was good. The bf chose the sirloin and it was alright. We were there with family, and they got the burger and the oxtail. Comments from those were positive too. Hopefully we'll get our steak on the next visit! Oh! And the staff were really nice. I didn't get the name of the wait staff who took my order, but he was so sweet to make sure the lamb was the right medium that i wanted.

That was satisfying. Went to Huber's twice in two weeks, because was in the area. Although the prices are high, they are not exorbitantly so. And you do get good food, good service, and a nice ambience, if a bit far away from most things. On visit one, three of us shared the Huber's burger, the pulled lamb burger, and a sausage, and an apple strudel for dessert. On visit two, we went for the short ribs and the smaller steak. The burger was one of the best. Solid and meaty and lovely caramelised onions. The short ribs, while good, was a bit jerlak towards the end. The steak was delicious, though would have wished say vegetables along with the pile of fries. The apple strudel was very good too. Recommend the limited indoor seating on hot afternoons.
