This family-run lodge and spa was recommended to us by German friends who had visited a few times before. We went with them for 4 nights in December 2018 and it was every bit as lovely as they had said. I think we were the only English people at the hotel, but the staff generally speak good English. ||As well as the excellent spa, steam rooms, pool and saunas, the hotel arranges a series of activities every day (which are included in the room rate), including: Relaxation classes, Yoga and guided walks - which we did in fresh snow in Snow Shoes. This was the first time we had used snow shoes and it was a fabulous experience. The weather was great, blue skies, and the views are breath-taking.||We also did the evening activities: A Gin master class and a wine tasting.||There is a smallish ski area and the ski season opened on our last day (15 Dec).||The whole hotel is clean, modern, comfortable. Our room was large and bright.||However, the best thing about the hotel is the food (which is all included). For breakfast, there is virtually everything you can think of, all freshly prepared. I loved the cold fillets of trout with freshly grated horseradish. There is also a selection of dishes, hot and cold, at lunchtime, plus cake, strudel, waffles at afternoon tea time.||In keeping with the Hotel's philosophy of healthy eating, the dinner includes both a vegetarian and a 'detox' set of courses, as well as superbly prepared meat and fish dishes.||In short - if you want a relaxed hotel which provides plenty of opportunities for activities as well as great service and food - Hubertus will not disappoint.
