Shocking and Inhumane – A Humiliating Experience
I have never experienced anything so outrageous and cruel in a so-called “hospitality” establishment. On a Sunday morning, I arrived at this restaurant for a simple brunch with my friend. My 9-year-old daughter joined me unexpectedly after her playdate was canceled. My friend was already seated on the terrace, enjoying her meal, and we simply sat down to join her.
What happened next was beyond belief. A waiter immediately approached us and coldly informed me that my daughter and I were not allowed to dine there because children were not welcome in this hotel. He told us we had to leave, right then and there. My daughter, confused and humiliated, burst into tears. I was in complete shock.
Desperate to salvage the situation, we asked if we could move to the lounge area outside, where small tables were available. But no, apparently, even that was unacceptable.
The waiter, almost smugly, explained that this was a newly enforced policy, as if that somehow justified the absolute lack of basic human decency.
I cannot stress enough how appalling this experience was. A policy that actively excludes children, not just from staying at the hotel but even from sitting quietly at a breakfast table, is beyond discriminatory!
It is heartless. In any civilized country, such an approach would be condemned. A Sunday morning breakfast in a public hotel restaurant should not be a scene of humiliation and rejection.
If you have a family, or simply a shred of compassion, I urge you to avoid this place at all costs. There are plenty of wonderful establishments that truly understand the meaning of hospitality - this is not one of them.
