Hudson Farmer and the Fish was such a lovely stop during our visit to Tarrytown! The food itself was fresh and flavorful, and the view from our outdoor table overlooking the Hudson River was absolutely stunning — you can even see Manhattan in the distance if you walk down the pier. I ordered the Squid Ink Linguine Vongole and it was really good — rich, briny, and beautifully cooked. My husband had the Hidden Fjord Scottish Salmon and liked it but wished for a little more on the plate. My mother-in-law got the clam pizza, which was tasty but could’ve used a touch more seasoning, while her husband really enjoyed the Farmers Double Stack Burger. The only thing keeping this from being a perfect five was the service — it was on the slower side, especially considering they weren’t very busy and it’s a bit over priced for what you get. Still, the setting more than made up for it. Sitting along the Hudson, just steps away from where riverboats once ferried goods and travelers during Tarrytown’s bustling 19th-century days, gave dinner a special kind of charm. It’s a wonderful spot to relax, take in the view, and enjoy a good meal.

I ordered the lobster bisque soup and a non alcholic drink. My husband ordered the lobster roll. We ordered the brussel sprouts to share. The soup did not taste good and the lobster roll was tiny. We did not finish the brussel sprouts because they were bland. The bill came out to $100. Sorry, not worth it. 👎

What a great place for a solo Birthday Lunch. Came to town for the Headless Horseman shabang, and walked over to this wonderful restaurant. Food and beer were great. Waiting time was less then 10 minutes for a solo dinner without reservations. Lisette was the most mostest awesome server and the other staff, extremely attentive. I just wanted some good fish and chips. Boring perhaps, but check the pictures. They speak for themselves.

Google
We started with the buffalo shrimp and a cu cu drink, both of which were very solid and a good start to the meal. Unfortunately, the mains were mostly disappointing. The burger, pizza, and skirt steak were all pretty underwhelming. The whole fish and fish and chips were better, more on the decent side. I was also hoping for a better table, since we were seated in the inner indoor room which felt a bit stuffy, especially with such a beautiful view outside. Service was okay, nothing special but nothing bad either. Overall, some hits and misses.

Google
Lovely view right by the water, great location for outdoor dining and sunsets. The servers were quick and nice as well, but the food was underwhelming, especially for the steep price. The lobster roll was over toasted and hard to chew, the lobster itself didn’t taste fresh. The fish and chips had too much breading on the fish. The oysters were fresh. The yellow gazpacho didn’t have much taste. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for foodies, but maybe other dishes are better.

Google
My family and I went last night to the restaurant, we were a party of seven. They were a little slow bringing out the food, but other wise they were awesome. I am definitely taking my family back again and the server Lisa is awesome! As she mentioned she is a star and the brightest one at Hudson Farmer & The Fish Restaurant.

Google
Beautiful view - the food and service were mediocre. The lobster roll was blah. I really wanted to love this place —the menu looked promising and the atmosphere was inviting. Unfortunately, the experience just didn’t live up to expectations.

Google
Fantastic experience here. Beautiful restaurant, great view, our waiter was phenomenal and the food was really good. Can’t recommend both the mussels or lobster enough. Will absolutely be back

Yelp
We were in town for all the Halloween festivities. Decided to give Farmer & The Fish a try since the pictures of the food looked nice. The restaurant itself is so cute and cozy. The servers, the host, the manager - all great. The valet guy was super nice as well. The view is immaculate!!! The lobster roll was chewy. Pizza was super oily. Chicken empanadas were dry.$17 to add 5 small shrimps to your salad. The dressing for the kale salad was super sour. Unfortunate that the food is nothing to be remembered for.

Yelp
Had lunch here recently and it was really enjoyable. Had initially gone to Kingsland Point Park for Sleepy Hallow Oktoberfest but there wasn't too much to it so we ended up walking by the water up to lunch at Hudson Farmer & The Fish. We had our dogs so we were seated outside. The service was good, but a little slow. The desert took forever to come out (though we put it through with like 3 different staff) so the restaurant comped it at the end, which we appreciated. The scallop salad was just okay, and it had bacon in it, which was a bit off-putting. The pizza Margherita was fresh and I really enjoyed my harvest autumn salad with a very recent amount of grilled gulf shrimp for protein. YUM. Highly recommend the Goat (Cheese) Brûlée. It was deeeliiiciiiious! I would definitely come back and enjoy a nice lunch on the water. For the food, the prices were also decent and not as high as full on dining city prices.

Yelp
The food here is excellent. The hamachi crudo and the summer pie were really good. And my hubby really loved the crispy chicken slider. The restaurant is decorated really nicely and has a gorgeous view of the TZ bridge and Hudson. Nice promenade and dock to walk before or after your meal. The only thing I will mention that when it's a very hot steamy afternoon, sitting outside can be brutal, because the umbrellas that they have and the awning don't block out all the sunlight, and we were baking in the sun, but we had no choice but to sit outside because we had our dog with us. It is nice that we were able to bring our pooch but sitting outside in the hot steamy sun with no reprieve is quite uncomfortable.
google avatar

James D.

Yelp
The atmosphere was nice sitting outside, the company was perfect, the food is fresh and well prepared. The prices were fine. Why the 3 stars? They don't serve coffee, the water was warm, the hostess/server was anything but welcoming.
google avatar

Maria C.

Yelp
Came here for a late lunch and sat outside. The scenery is really pretty sitting right by the water and you can actually see the Cuomo Bridge. We ordered a bunch of appetizers. Everything was tasty. Our drinks were delicious and the service was not bad so we definitely will come back here.

Yelp
This place is a hidden jewel. It is on the Hudson and it has outdoor seating during the summer. My husband and I enjoyed a nice lunch here in October 2024 and it was still warm enough to eat outside. He had a lamb meatball with feta appetizer and fish and chips for his entree. I had the warm lobster roll with a coke. We both enjoyed our food and said we would come back again because of the breathtaking view and the calmness of the water.

Yelp
I've been here pre Covid was better service we waited for long time for our food the appetizers came out different times and we had to request bread 4 times which we were charged for my fish was dry over cooked . I would've sent it back, but the waitress and waiter took so long to get us spread that it was just impossible. Drinks were delicious oysters were nice but we like our appetizers all together so we can eat all together not in stages. sorry wasn't a big fan of how they treated us not rude just took forever for everything and the fish was terrible. I would not get the fish special in the future. Maybe I'll try again because the view is amazing and I'll stick to the bar

Yelp
Cool place on the Hudson! Unique menu with flavors I'd never think to combine. Plate presentation is beyond expectations. Will be back!

Namratha R.

Yelp
Went there for a late Sunday lunch on the last day of summer. The gorgeous weather made the view so much better. Sat at the bar. Great service! The hamachi crudo was very fresh and tasted great. It was presented on a shell, which was very pretty. I requested for the protein(chicken) on my quinoa salad to be substituted with the Cajun chicken (from the chicken sandwich). They complied and it totally enhanced the taste of the salad.

Yelp
we went early before it got crowded. nice outdoor seating on the river. The food was very good. Prices, however, are high and the service doesn't live up to the prices. we had to look for a hostess when we arrived and when we were leaving, the hostess was on her phone and didn't even say thank you or good night. The table service was amateurish and inattentive. My very good fish and chips was served on a plate with a big chip in it. I can't recommend this place and won't return.

Yelp
We stopped in for happy hour at Hudson Farmer & The Fish during the week (happy hour runs from 3-6 PM), and the experience was overall very enjoyable. The atmosphere was lively but relaxed, and the food was fresh and flavorful. We ordered from the happy hour menu, which offers $10 drinks and $12 small plates. Our picks included the fish tacos, crispy chicken sandwich, and lobster roll. All the dishes were delicious--seasoned well and nicely presented--but the portion sizes were definitely on the smaller side. In hindsight, I wish we had just ordered from the regular menu, as the happy hour portions weren't quite filling. With two glasses of wine and our meal, the total came to $88. While the quality of the food was great, the value felt a bit underwhelming for the portion sizes. Still, it's a great spot with fresh ingredients and a beautiful view--just go in knowing that happy hour is more of a light bite experience rather than a full meal.

Yelp
So disappointing! Location and drinks were good but otherwise everything else was a bust. Lobster roll was not worth almost $40 - we also ordered the salmon cooked medium well and it was severely undercooked. Waiter was kind and understanding when we said something about the salmon, service was not an issue. If you come here come for the drinks, not the food!

K M.

Yelp
average service, perfunctory at best. Raw bar was good hot food was cold. average overhyped place

Yelp
Came to this cute restaurant by Edge on Hudson community and loved it. Did not need a reservation even on the weekend. There is valet parking, which we did not expect, wished it was not valet, but it's ok I guess. The restaurant is located on the water, very nice views, and the inside is pretty cozy country vibes. Our service was pretty good, not too slow not too rushed. The menu was fairly large, had many options including seafood, vegetables, and non-seafoods. They did have a few things missing on the menu, not sure if it's bc it was the weekend. We got a variety of dishes including a fish, lobster cocktail, pork belly, corn steak, actual steak, burrata, etc. Everything tasted great and the portions are all bigger than I expected! Hudson Farmer & The Fish is one of those restaurants that makes you feel warm and hearty and you walk away satisfied with what you ate. I heard they have seasonal menus and will definitely be visiting again!

Yelp
This was not our first visit . We have enjoyed a Restaurant Week Meal and some regular lunches and dinners, today was strange. We decided to give their Happy Hour a try. We walked in at 3:15pm and asked if they had a Happy Hour, the hostess said yes but the 4 seats at the bar (yes only 4) were taken and she didn't offer us an alternative , I said what about these high tops next to the bar and she hesitated because the table was reserved for dinner I assume at 6 (21/2 hours later) she finally said ok , as long as you leave by 5:45. Not a problem. Not the best start but ok. So we order drinks and the apps on the HH menu. I got a signature le vie en rose cocktail (waiter said on HH) and my husband got a beer that came with a salt rim (not on HH) . We ordered the shellfish sampler, lamb meatballs and barrata app all on HH Menu.all good and excited to enjoy. The shellfish sampler came soon after the drinks with TWO oysters and one shrimp cocktail , 1 HUGE shrimp. The menu says it comes with not 2 but 3 oysters so I had to point this out and he brought me another oyster. Explained that he doesn't work weekdays and didn't notice ...It was Delicious! Then we wait, and wait and wait and wait some more for our two other HH apps. People who came in after us getting their HH apps and we wait some more. Finally my husband gets up , the waiter never came to us to apologize for the wait, and he asked the waiter if there was an issue. No apology not "let me check" nothing, just that "you ordered an appetizer " , and three times he said "they are working on it". He never apologized or said he would check on it. My husband just said the people on both sides of us who came in after had gotten all their HH items already and finished them. After no apoligy, my husband said cancel the rest of the order. And he asked if we wanted the check and we said yes. Then to top it off, he charged us full price for my HH cocktail. So he had to fix that. So disappointed. We love this place.

Yelp
The ambience and the views are great, but when it came to the food we were very disappointed. We started with appetizers and ordered the hamachi crudo and lamb meatballs. The hamachi crudo was absolutely awful. I had one bite and had to spit it out on my napkin. On the meatballs, there is a seasoning used that was overpowering and we weren't fans either. For the main course, we ordered fish and chips and the lobster roll. The fish and chips was decent and ended up being our favorite dish of the night. The lobster roll was under seasoned but cooked well. The tamarind margarita was the only thing we would return to the restaurant for, overall a very disappointing experience.

Kelly K.

Yelp
Awful. The menu was small and not what is posted on line. Three of us got spinach salads which were soggy and over dressed. Each salad cost $40!!! Do not waste your money.

Yelp
I had one of the worst dining experiences recently. From the moment we walked in, I felt unwelcome, and it all started with the waitress. It was clear from her expression that she was irritated as I tried to place my order. I understand that English is not my first language, but that should never have been a reason for the poor attitude. Her displeasure was obvious from the very beginning, and I could immediately sense the negative atmosphere. Later, I read reviews about this restaurant mentioning discrimination, which unfortunately, confirmed what I had already felt. But even without knowing that beforehand, her attitude made it clear that she lacked professionalism. Our food was another major disappointment. We ordered a $40 steak, and what we got was a piece of meat with a single sweet potato cut in half and two small mushrooms. The steak had no seasoning, the potato was bland and old--not even soft. When I asked for salt and some sauce, only then did she bring a small cup of sauce and some salt. It was shocking that she didn't even ask us how we wanted our steak cooked. What we received was a rubbery, undercooked steak, leaking juice, and impossible to chew. We also ordered two other dishes, which were passable but not great. While eating, I checked the reviews and found others mentioning hidden fees and additional charges on the bill. Sure enough, when we got our check, there was an unexpected charge labeled as something like a "chef's compliment" fee. I don't understand why we should pay an extra fee for the chef, especially when we already left a tip--the bare minimum, because honestly, if I could have left none, I would have. This experience was far from what I expected, especially in a city that welcomes so many tourists, especially during this busy fall season before Halloween. I've never encountered such an unprofessional waitress in all my dining experiences. In a city known for its diversity, I would expect staff to treat everyone equally, regardless of where they're from or how well they speak the language. I'm extremely disappointed and would rate this restaurant 1 star. If I could give it negative stars, I would.

Yelp
Wow what an amazing lunch we had at Hudson Farmer & The Fish!! The location is beautiful facing the waterfront and we enjoyed our lunch at an outdoor table. The food was so delicious and fresh. We shared a huge burger with cheese and perfectly cooked bacon. One of the juiciest, most flavorful burgers I've had. And the fries are perfectly crispy on the outside and nicely potato-y inside. The salad we shared was lightly dressed with a subtly flavored vinaigrette that highlighted the fresh greens. Again, a pleasant surprise that its flavors and freshness really stood out . We are looking forward to coming back here again!

Yelp
I had high hopes for Hudson Farmer and the Fish. The location offers a nice view if you're able to sit outside and the menu could be delicious if well executed. Unfortunately, in my experience it was not well executed. The crab tostadas lacked flavor and stuck to the plate with some sort of avocado paste under them. The calamari salad had no mention of mole sauce yet was surrounded by a mole sauce - if I had known that I wouldn't have ordered it. The calamari itself was overbattered every bite was just seasoned fry batter took away from the calamari. The person I was with had the spicy chicken sandwich which they said was okay. The service was lacking no one refilled our water once and I had to ask someone to take our plates. I wish I could get the 90 dollars I spent on this mediocre not great meal back because there are so many better ways I could have spent it.

Yelp
After a very long day visiting NYC we decided to eat nearer our hotel for dinner. We stumbled upon Farmer & the Fish and it did not disappoint! It was a very hot evening and we didn't have a reservation so we opted to sit outside. I am so glad we did. The payoff was fantastic views of the Hudson and sunset. The food and drinks were very good. The crispy chicken sandwich was a hit with my kids, the double stack burger was full of flavor and the salad was very fresh! The overall atmosphere was very inviting and relaxing. It was a very enjoyable dinner.

Yelp
Food is great. Tasty. Very quiet place. Service was okay since it was not during busy times.

Yelp
Enjoyed dinner at this scenic joint by the Hudson River just steps away from the Tappan Zee Bridge in Tarrytown. My brother and I had a few cocktails and delicious apps. The entrees were ok. Cocktails: Cucu Butterfly Apps: Pork Belly w Guac Grilled Octopus Entrees: Battered Fish & Chips (catch of the day - something similar to cod) Charred Salmon Service was impeccable. Very friendly and enthusiastic waiter, Devin had the perfect demeanor. Really made us feel welcome and that we were in good hands. Closes early @ 7:30 for last call dinner and drinks on a Sunday... guess it's more of a lunch joint. The private lot pretty much forces you to valet. Can do your own street parking down the block if you wanna save the couple of bucks tip. It WAS crowded so get a rezzie if you have a party larger than 3.

Denise R.

Yelp
I just had dinner at Hudson Farmer and the fish and all I could say is that it was way below par. The food wasn't that good. In fact, we sent back a dish which they still charged us for and the service in terms of timeliness and attitude was terrible. Sitting outside is nice, but the chairs are very uncomfortable. not high on my list anymore.

Abby M.

Yelp
We skipped another restaurant we were interested in for this one and left EXTREMELY disappointed. Where do I begin? For starters our server was extremely rude and short with us. She seemed annoyed the entire time she was interacting with us, which was literally about 3 times the entire two hours we were there. We ordered drinks and food, waited and waited and waited some more. She forgot about us until an hour had passed and we still hadn't gotten our food. Two tables near us that came well after us had eaten and left already. We should have just paid for our drinks and left. The food was awful. My salmon (while cooked to my liking) was so flavorless and bland. Not a speck of seasoning in sight. The "watercress" it was served on was quite literally a bed of thick stems. The Brussels sprouts carbonara was okay. My friend's steak (asked for medium rare and got medium) was bland and unseasoned as well and so tough she could barely cut it let alone choke it down. I expect a $40 steak to at least be EDIBLE. I don't understand their lack of seasoning on their food. I mean not even salt and pepper. The shrimp fried rice was a goopy paste with way too much sauce. The atmosphere of this place is nice. Eating out by the water was great but the food and bad service really ruined it. Don't recommend anyone spend their money here.

Yelp
Came from the city and I was looking forward to trying this place. We got there during the lunch and not crowded, but we weren't even acknowledged. We were standing right near the hostesses were. They were talking. We said hello & finally they said hello... Nice view but overpriced not excited mediocre food. The butter for Calamari was not cooked through and tasteless, the dressing on the salad is didn't go well with calamari. I don't think I'm coming back here soon.

Yelp
Delicious fish and chips. Best coleslaw I have ever had! Pretty pricy and difficult to find but great view of the Hudson. Definitely happy with my experience.

Yelp
Slow service and surprise fee on the bill.. would not recommend. Was walking around the area on a Friday afternoon and decided to pop in for a drink since it wasn't busy. We're seated immediately, water came pretty quickly.. wait 10minutes for waiter, wait another 15mins for our drinks.. then we get the bill and there's a "Cooks appreciation 3%" service charge. How about paying your workers a living wage and not passing the buck with hidden fees? 2 stars because the cocktail was decent

Yelp
The perfect cozy spot for lunch during the winter! This spot is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. My parents and I used to go to Purdys Farmer and the Fish when they would drop me off at Vassar College. It was one of our favorite spots and I'm happy they have one in Sleepy Hollow. The steak and salmon are always delicious and it was my first time trying their pizza. Everything was delicious and my boyfriend also really enjoyed the Lobster Roll.

Yelp
After seeing some less than stellar reviews I was a little hesitant to give this a place a try, but it exceeding expectations! Location is great! Offers views of the Hudson and Cuomo Bridge. Really nice at sunset or at night. They have outside seating along the water a small seating area near the kitchen and at the bar as well as a small back room with additional tables. If you want to eat outside, I recommend making a reservation in advance as these seats will fill up. The menu is very large, some appetizers, pizzas and a few main courses as well as some sandwich type options. All the food we had was amazing and the plates went back clean! We started with the octopus and tostadas. The octopus was super tender and tasty. With a different take on a mole sauce and some fingerling potatoes. He tostadas are pretty large definitely a good option to share. For my main I had the salmon dish. Cooked to your temperature of choice and was delicious. Crispy skin and great flavor. My boyfriend had the clam pizza which was also really good! Crispy and chewy crust and the toppings had a great flavor combination going on. Service was great, no complaints. The waiter was super attentive to refilling water, checking in and clearing plates. Overall, would definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for a nice date night out by the water.

Yelp
Location location location! I love coming here. It's my favorite outdoor seating pet friendly spot. The staff is wonderful. Drinks are great. The food is inconsistent. I love coming here even when the food is disappointing. Tonight's happy hour fish tacos were overly salted. I couldn't eat them. Last time I had the most delicious grilled white fish. Oh well! I'll be back.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday, late afternoon snack & drinks-- WOW, so good. We were able to snag a table outside overlooking the Hudson and the sun was shining-- everything was in our favor. We got the mushroom pizza & the brussel sprouts. I also got the lavender old fashion (small hints of lavender and not super sweet... exactly right). Everything was super fresh and plate lick worthy. I would definitely recommend this spot and will ABSOLUTELY be back. (They are closed on Wednesdays-- Covid hours. Before heading over I suggest calling just to make sure). Five stars & two thumbs up.

Yelp
This is a wonderful restaurant especially on a summer afternoon or evening. The views of the Hudson River and Mario Cuomo Bridge are spectacular. We had fish tacos as a starter and the 1855 steak and cheeseburger...all were excellent. You will enjoy your time at this restaurant... great food and ambiance... enjoy!

Yelp
Great place to have a meeting with friends or family members and to that also add the fact that the food is also pretty good; with starters such as the Farmer's Salad which contains healthy ingredients such as: field greens and shaved veggies, pickled red onions, feta and candied walnuts and to top it all off they also have pretty good pizza which I love and my go to was the Margherita one which has california tomato and homemade mozzarella and parmesan as ingredients. The service was also pretty good they have people who are friendly and who are also willing to chit chat with you if they have time of course because it can definitely get hectic in there I've seen it myself many times. Lastly we have the great atmosphere that you get by being next to the Hudson River which looks dazzling during night time accompany with the cool summer breeze that you get from the river. Overall, great place to go to as a friend's meeting place or a family gathering and I would 100% recommend to be there at night time to enjoy the scenery.

Yelp
I ate here yesterday with my husband and it was a great experience. The view of the Hudson was so nice from our table and the pizza, polenta fries and burger were way better than I expected. Most places with a nice view often have mediocre food because they know people will come anyway for their view and don't need to put in the effort but this spot has seriously great tasting dishes that can warrant a busy restaurant anywhere despite the pretty view. Since yesterday, I've already recommended Hudson Farmer and the Fish to my friends and will hopefully be back again soon!

Yelp
We moved to Tarrytown recently and were excited to try Hudson Farmer & The Fish. In theory, it checks all the boxes: great location on the river, great food, great ambiance. We called ahead and were told that if we arrived in the next 15 minutes or so, there was 30 minutes wait for a walk-in party of 2, 45 minutes max. When we arrived 10 minutes later, we were quoted an hour - strike one. We opted to order to-go instead. At 1:30pm they were already sold out of fish and chips - strike two. The kicker was that while we were waiting for our food, a party of 4 with a baby and a dog was seated the second they arrived (also as a walk-in). I inquired why they were being seated immediately when we were quoted an hour and arrived 20 minutes before they did, and apparently they had a 4 person table available and chose to make our party of 2 wait *a full hour* longer than people arriving after us because they didn't want to seat 2 people there. Strike three. The cherry on top is the BS "chef's appreciation fee" that they tack onto the bill at the end. I am ALL for paying your employees well, but on principle I hate when restaurants pull the bait and switch of advertising certain lower prices on the menu and then hiding extra fees in the small print. The food was good, but not $65 good. I had high hopes for HF&F, but overall the experience was a disappointment. I'll take my money elsewhere in the future and suggest that you do the same.

Yelp
Horrific experience here. I never leave reviews but had to leave one for this. Truly the worst dining experience of my life. I ordered a drink, it showed up 15 minutes later, totally incorrect. The waitress didn't even show up to check on us for another 30 minutes, so I couldn't even send the drink back to have it made properly. An old fashioned doesn't have cherries in it... After an hour and some change, we finally got our order (pasta dishes). The ravioli is clearly not made in house, was frozen before hand and was undercooked massively. The gnocchi was a strange combination of extremely sub par flavors. In an hour and a half experience, we got 1 single drink, made incorrectly, and two horrid main courses for $50 (even after taking my dish off the bill). To top it off, they charged $3 for the rocks (ice) in my drink. Spend your money elsewhere. Thank god we are from out of town and never have to come back here. This place is out of touch from the kitchen to the bar, to the front of house. Embarrassing.

Yelp
I booked a recent Saturday evening reservation for my family of 4. I was excited for the evening, but unfortunately we had several problems with our dining experience and food quality. First I was surprised to be initially led to the back claustrophobic, enclosed, windowless room which was almost fully occupied by a large party. However when my wife asked to be moved to the more open front where the views are, they obliged. I decided to try the yellowtail Fish of the Day as I usually gravitate towards specials. When the fish arrived it was such a tough, rubbery consistency that I literally couldn't get a knife through it. I've never seen a piece of fish like that at a restaurant (or anywhere). I brought it to the staff's attention and our server said she fully agreed that something was wrong with it. She took it back and substituted an order of the salmon for it at my request. However the salmon did not arrive until after the rest of my family finished eating, so I just had them put it in a box to go. Our waitress apologized, acknowledging it took too long and removed it from our bill. While I was waiting for the salmon, I tried some of my son's steak and I was surprised how flavorless, gamey and chewy it was. It was also undercooked from my son's requested medium, but he was too embarrassed to send it back after what happened with my fish. Especially for $42, it was another setback. Finally, when I tried the salmon at home, I was shocked how small and overcooked it was. For the price and given nothing else came with it, the salmon was another let down (and of course, I had to eat it at home and not with my family during dinner). So this restaurant fell well short of expectations, especially based on the publicity this and the Purdys location have received. Spending $300 here didn't feel good.

Yelp
I wish I had found out about this restaurant earlier in the summer! Not only is it pretty, the food is fabulous! We sat outside on a beautiful day and started off with the scallop salad and a lobster roll. The scallops were seared perfectly and also seasoned to perfection. The frisée salad had wonderful fresh tarragon throughout and A citrusy vinaigrette. But, the runny sunny side up egg made it incredible. Loved it! We decided upon a warm lobster roll, and it didn't disappoint! The bun was really crisp and well buttered and the lobster meat was crunchy and well immersed in a buttery bath. it was decadent perfection! I was dying to try the clam pizza, so we ordered one. Usually clam pizza, at other restaurants, has a few clams on it, This one had many clam pieces covering the top along with fresh herbs and occasional chilies. It was definitely memorable! I need to come back and try the octopus! I saw it on a table as I was leaving and that looked to die for! Our waiter was great, and all the little details with this meal mattered. My unsweetened iced tea was served with a little metal crock of simple syrup for sweetener. The fries that accompanied the lobster roll were highly addictive! So crispy and thin sliced. Our server and bus boys were very thorough and attentive. The food as well as the service combined earned this a five star from me! I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Crispy chicken sandwich with the polenta fries. Not sure about anything else on the menu but this is a 5/5 in my book! Big portion of chicken. Crispy. Nice acidity/spice to add an extra layer of flavor. Polenta fries were great. Ask for extra sauce in the side!

Yelp
If I could put 0 starts I would, I am the last person to write a review about anyone else but after working in the restaurant industry for 8 years i'm in shock. We went to have a drink there at 7:00 when the restaurant says on line they close at 8. We got to the door and were turned down because "the kitchen was busy", meanwhile we came only for a drink. as we were leaving we saw the hostess seat 2 other parties and when we asked her why she was seating other people she turned around and walked away and said "so rude". Will never be dining here again- I brought a friend from out of the country and it was embarrassing and a bad start to our night.

Yelp
This was our first visit to this location but choose it as we had been to Purdy's in North Salem several times. Fortunately it was a lovely day so we enjoyed the view of the Hudson River. We had the calamari served over a frisee salad that was absolutely delicious--best I have ever had. The fried oysters were also delicious and a clever presentation--somewhat like a rockefeller would be served. Finally, the lobster roll was also great--classic presentation. We sat at the bar and Jose provided good service. Can't wait to go back--wish it was closer.

Yelp
Food was good -- especially the autumn pie, goat cheese brûlée, and apple crumble. You can see the kitchen space while you eat, which is a nice touch. However, the timing and quality of service was a serious drawback and the cocktails were mid -- in particular, do not recommend the cocktail la vie en rose which is essentially just rosé.

Yelp
Worst service I've ever experienced. Don't go here everyone is disrespectful and everywhere you step or look is dirty. Not baby friendly at all.

Yelp
AVOID! Possibly racist. Pedro specifically. The service could not have been worse. I asked for a table for 4 and there is an hour wait, it's a Saturday night so I'm willing to wait that's not the issue. After waiting a while for our table and kindly asking for an update the waiter responded with an attitude that we still have 8 mins left. We stood off to the side to continue waiting and another family OF FOUR came up and asked for a table and we're seated immediately?! Then they tell us our table is ready so we go to sit and nobody brings us a menu for a while, we keep asking what's going on and two POLICE OFFICERS show up to tell us they're refusing service. We're two couples with a baby, clearly we're not looking for trouble, im disgusted and confused at this service. Even other restaurant goers were astounded at this situation. I am SPEECHLESS.

Yelp
NOT DOG FRIENDLY - They wouldn't give us a plastic bowl of water outside for our dog when's it's 90 degrees because according to the manager, "it could spill over". I mean who cares if water spills outside in the dirt? The food here is not that good and overpriced for a somewhat decent view. The management needs to chill and realize that our pets are members of our family.

Yelp
Terrible experience. Called at 1 and was told they didn't take reservations for 2 although when we arrived at 3 and said "table for 2" the first thing we were asked was "do you have a reservation." This was after waiting for the hostess to finish texting whoever she was texting. Ordered a few drinks that were out of this world. Then tried to order a few dozen oysters and a few appetizers and was immediately told "you have to order everything at once" - so we then asked for our check and left. The place was literally empty - and was being forced to order appetizers, main meal and dessert all at one time or we weren't allowed to order at all. I'd highly suggest skipping this place if that's how it's run. I'd understand if they were swamped - but there was no wait and nobody in the place.

Yelp
Another disappointing experience at another Westchester restaurant. Although the scenary is beautiful, the patio was not comfortable. The chairs were not meant for dining. the food was mediocre. The colossal shrimp cost $22 but the 3 shrimp served were actually jumbo, 1/2 the size of colossal shrimp. The crab tostada was not tasty and made with low quality crab $19. The fish and chips was abundant served with a tasty cole slaw. the fish special was halibut which was dry and tasteless. The most insulting part of the experience was the addition of a chef's appreciation fee of 3%. Tips are reserved for the waitstaff which should get tipped accordingly to the service they provide. Hopefully the owner will not add his Con Ed bill to the customers check in the near future.

Yelp
My spouse has threatened me with bodily harm if I went to dine at the establishment by my self. So finally both of us were able to make for our anniversary. Made the reservation for Sunday at 7PM, party of two. We arrived a half hour early & requested seating outside. We waited at the bar while our table was prepped. At the bar we met the new manager Ashley - very pleasant & engaging young lady. We ordered our drinks & by the time the drinks were done our table was ready. OK. After mulling over the menu for about 15 - 20 minutes we finally decided on Seafood Tower for 2 & Short Rib with Asparagus & Fava Beans and a side order of Polenta Fries along with a glass of wine each. The wine arrived as we were finishing our drinks. So we enjoyed the beautiful view & sunset & waited & waited & waited...the staff must have gone out to Long Island clamming for the oysters & clams. People who came after us were being served. It must have been 30 to 45 minutes & there was nothing served in the meantime such as bread... We were finishing our wine at this point. Ashley walked by and my wife mentioned that we've been here for nearly 45 minutes waiting for our appetizer. She said the she will look into it. She returned shortly and apologized. She said that there was some misunderstanding about the order or the order wasn't placed...again she apologized and comped our drinks. While waiting, we see one of the waiters (not our) prancing around with his pants half way down his butt, showing off his black briefs - IN A RESTAURANT!!!??? REALLY???? Didn't realize that it's so difficult to retain staff that you would allow that to happen in an eating establishment. I DON'T WANT TO SEE someones underwear while I'm eating. Finally our tower arrived. Looked impressive. Let's see - four large shrimp, one lobster, 1/2 each & a dozen clams & oysters. Clams & oysters were good. You really can't ruin them unless they're not fresh. Shrimps also good, not overcooked. Lobster on the other hand - shoe leather, way too overcooked. The Short Rib & Polenta Fries arrived. Everything looks good & we dive in. Short Rib, cooked perfectly, fall off the bone. Fava beans & asparagus also very nice. Polenta fries - New Found Love - delicious. All in all I would have given them 4 stars but because of the bad service, overcooked lobster & the prancing butt waiter - 2.
