Friendly staff. The set menu is pretty good. Steak was not bad and the sides were top notch. The jus/gravy was to die for. House wine with the set menu was excellent, well chosen whoever was responsible. Quick service.

So worth the price! Steaks were juicy and fresh, so tasty. The sticky toffee pudding was to die for. Almost too big a portion and delicious. Service was super friendly and efficient! Highly recommend.

Best steakhouse in Bath. Always delicious food, good atmosphere and top notch service from staff. Can’t recommend Hudsons enough. Always my go to for the perfect steak in Bath. If you haven’t been yet, you are honestly missing out. Already looking forward to coming back again soon!

Just stunning, stunning service stunning food stunning everything, as always on it per our yearly/half yearly visit. This year we made a special occasion, my step daughter turned 12 and never gets the steak she requests in other restaurants, so why not bring her to our favourite, cooked with perfection as always, best steak she's ever had, thank you for always being on your game

Came to Bath to try this place out and had a very pleasant meal. The atmosphere is very nice and service is excellent. I had the ribeye steak and it was very good, I highly recommend adding the peppercorn sauce too. Also much prefer the truffle fries over the regular fries. The waffle dessert was very well presented and delicious, the chocolate mousse was ok in comparison. I would absolutely come here again, thank you Hana!

If this wasn't specifically a steak restaurant, I'd have rated it four out of five, but given steak is their thing, it should be top notch. Ours weren't. The starters and side dishes were great, but the three of us who ordered the 'super marbled' (as described on the menu) were disappointed. Ribeye is all I eat when I do choose steak, so I know what's good. Each of our ribeyes lacked the flavour of a decent marbled ribeye steak. They were cooked beautifully, but they the resembled close to what I expect from a fillet, possibly a sirloin. They also lacked seasoning. I did make the waitress aware, and she said she'd mention something to the chef, but we heard nothing more. I left a decent chunk of mine as I just didn't enjoy it. I feel extra gutted as two of us ordered the extra large 14/16oz cuts. For what it's worth, the espresso martinis were also fairly weak, and I drink enough of those to knows what's good and bad too. Lovely decor, nice enough staff, but I won't be returning.

Went for the weekday special. The food was very good and came quite quickly, with the meals arriving within 1 or 2 minutes at most. The quality was great, although slightly varied. I thought my steak was above average, while others stated it was the best they've ever had. The service was excellent, some of the best I've seen, especially when most of us were making use of the special offer. Highly recommend

Food: 10/10 Venue: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Price: 7/10 Ordered the king prawns with calamari in spicy sauce. Absolutely great, set the meal off brilliantly. Extremely fresh, crisp batter, large prawns overall impressive. The fillet steak was cooked perfectly and very tender and delicious. The garlic butter was a must try, amazing. The service was very fast and friendly. Overall a great experience, would highly recommend. Slightly on the pricey side, about £57 per person for a meal, glass of wine and half a starter so definitely a special occasion but very high quality and worth the price.

As Bath locals, we only ever go here now. I don't even need a menu. It's better than most steakhouses in the US too. The staff are excellent. The food is good, the cocktails are probably the best in Bath (they know how to mix a Martini) and they also welcome children (if we cannot get a babysitter but really want a steak). I recommend the Blue Swimmer Crab as a starter to share, followed by the Ribeye (surf and turf style) with Truffle Fries and Garlic Spinach. Don't bother with dessert but go for a bottle of Malbec instead.

Excellent steaks and drinks. We had a couple of margaritas and daiquiris. Fantastic service too!

You know when you go to a new city and every person you chat with says "you HAVE to eat at x place, it's amazing!" and you go there with really high expectations only to be let down? The Hudson was that place, but instead of letting me down, it exceeded my expectations. First of all, everyone commented on the price, saying it was pretty expensive but once you've had the food you're willing to pay that price and then some. I found the pricing to be exactly what I would expect of an up-market steak restaurant, with one difference: many steak restaurants do steak really well but can fall down on the whole package. The Hudson had the whole package. My starter was outstanding. I've just looked at the menu and can't even remember what it was, bizarrely, but I think maybe what I had isn't on their website. It was like a layered bit of crab, sour cream and guacamole served with thin and crunchy slices of baguette to heap everything onto. It was beautifully presented, and had a bit of a Mexican kick to it with the fresh flavours, and was amazing. Possibly the best starter I've ever had. The Man felt a bit let down by his crispy goats cheese as he (and I agreed) that the flavours together were a bit sweet and bland. I ordered the sirloin and he got the porterhouse. My sirloin was perfectly cooked but he felt his porterhouse was bordering on medium rather than his requested medium rare. It was unfortunate, though, that they served the steaks in a sweet reduction. When I want steak I only want steak. I didn't notice the reduction listed on the menu and would have preferred it on the side to try as I pleased rather than covering my plate. We were unfortunately too full to opt for desserts and I would suggest, if you do want dessert, don't order any sides to go with your steak. The sides were great but meant I was far too full to fit anything else in my belly. Despite any small complaints, this place is still 5 star. The decor is gorgeous and the staff friendly, but mostly it's because that starter will haunt me with its deliciousness.

Super over priced for what you get 111 GBP for 2 steaks fries and STD bottle of red wine. Table setting poor could have been in a pub no finesse and no atmosphere right next to a main road with the main door open! If your going to spend 50 quid plus per head then chose somewhere else.

Absolutely top notch 9 out of 10. Really great ambiance , brilliant service and the best steak i have ever eaten. If you love steak and great food , make this restaurant a must visit.

I go to Hudsons to treat myself about once a month. Always superb! As a cabbie, when asked to reccomend a good steak house it's always Hudsons.

Date Friday 13th 2015 myself and partner have been going to this steakhouse for some 18 months and in that period we've visited 8 times and have had no reason to complain. However on the date mentioned above we ordered the special deal which is £15.95 per head which also includes a glass of wine, The food arrived in good time the steak was as good as always, but the problem started when we received the bill. We noticed we were charge for pepper corn sauce £1.95 which was not ordered (the manager insisted we did and this was done vocally in front of other customers ) we were also charged an upgrade on the wine of £1.95. This is where Hudson's need to be open and transparent as I'm no wine connoisseur as when I was asked what wine we both wanted with our meal I just asked for 1 Savignon blanc and Pernod & black instead of a wine, but on the bill it showed the Pernod & black as a separate drink at £3.95. When we came to pay the bill I queried all the above extras, as stated the female manager/head waitress became very bolshy and commented it's not down to us to tell you that if you choose not to have a glass of wine or another drink or type of wine it will be charges as an upgrade to the bill. Under duress she took the pepper sauce off the bill but stated the drink had to stay. The only reason we paid at this point was she made us feel we couldn't question our bill as she was prepared to have an unprofessional open abrupt discussion in front of other customers who were clearly embarrassed for us. Conculson .......... We will not be going back there again as it's left a bad taste in our mouths, next time we feel like a steak we'll try the COW SHED around the corner which is new to bath and has a better vibe

Absolutely amazing steak. They have a £15 deal before 7 which includes a glass of house wine. I would highly recommend this place. I will certainly be going there again. My friends and I can't stop thinking about the amazing steak. Having said this, there isn't much reason to go there as a vegetarian, so if you are of that persuasion, I recommend going elsewhere.

The service sucks. We had reservations and there were several open tables. They made us sit at the bar while at least 5 other couples came in and were seated right away. Finally, they told us our table was ready. They showed us to one of the tables that had sat empty while we cooled our heels at the bar. Sorry, Hudsons. You can't compare on service to any big city restaurant.

Amazing food. The seabass fillet was very delicious and the porterhouse steak is great as well as massive in portion. We ordered the duck salad to share between 2, the seabass fillet and porterhouse with sides of portobello and dauphinois potatoes and we were full to the brim. Unfortunately no room for dessert and barely finished the food. Excellent food and great service, this place is a good place all around.

Superb steak restaurant, the best in the area by a country mile. The restaurant has very stylish decor, but it's not intimidating in any way. Good wine selection, professional staff, but the real highlight here is the food. Outstanding cuts of beef cooked to perfection, well presented, and most importantly completely delicious. Also a bar downstairs serving respectable cocktails. Expect to pay upward of £40 a head for dinner (around £20 for a main course), but worth every penny.

Hudsons Bar and Grill is a relatively new addition to Bath and a very welcome one too!! I was taken here for a meal and it was a fantastic night out, Hudsons is an upmarket place but also very relaxed and unpretentious, downstairs is a lovely bar and waiting area in a lovely neutral décor and I think they also have some tables downstairs too. Upstairs is the main restaurant, lovely setting with not too many tables so feels private but you can also go in groups. Open fires and leather chairs create a great ambience and the food is gorgeous. The steaks are so juicy and tasty, and the fish is also extremely good. I would recommend this restaurant whole heartedly and especially the desserts!!

Having had a superb experience previously with attentive service and great meals I came back with friends. Unfortunately the service tonight was poor to say the least. Drinks orders forgotten, constantly chasing attention for service that was slow at best. I was disappointed after I had spoken so highly about my previous visit. For the money you need to put some more staff on!
