Interesting and unique pieces from local artists and more well know and interesting exhibits. Not very large but just enough to spend a few hours. It was a nice visit with some cool modern art pieces. The only thing I would say is the entry price should be a little lower. It was empty when we arrived which might account for the high entry price. Open only on sat and Sunday with limited hours. It was something different and unique to do on a sat.

Wonderful museum with an eclectic collection. A local treasure soon to gain broader attention. A deep look into the human form taking on many manifestations as interpreted by artists from around the world.

The couple who owns this gallery has made a very good effort to bring culture and art to the Peekskill community. Their instillations are always interesting and thought provoking. This latest exhibit was the collaboratin of two curators who obviously had a feel for one another and their decisions worked well for their intended audience.

Great small museum with innovative shows! Wonderful place to stop on the Hudson near DIA: Beacon. The latest group show had international group of artists you would expect to see in the Whitney Biennial or Art Basel. Side note: Peekskill has a great brewery (Peekskill brewery) a great restaurant (Birdsall House) and great used book store (Bruised Apple Books).

How are there no reviews of this museum? It's great - they have some really neat, thought-provoking stuff. My kids enjoyed it as well, even though there were a number of things they wanted to touch but couldn't. Highly recommended to check out.

I went to see the museum Friday the 27th. I rang the bell not knowing weather it was open or if that was how to enter. Turns out they were closed for install. A very rude woman came out from the back and Scolded me. I hope to go back after install and enjoy the museum. I became a member this year because the venue looks amazing and its so close to where we live in Beacon. The location is great and they have parking. I recommend stopping into the museum.

Small museum with interesting collection of contemporary art spanning 65 years, nicely displayed and labeled.

Yelp
The entrance fee is way out of whack for the surrounding area. I guess it's a nice day trip for UES dwellers but we HV people can't afford it. Other than that great exhibition place for local artists.

Yelp
Charging 30 dollars to see 20 pieces feels like a ripoff. The art was pedestrian and contrived. We were there less than 30 minutes. Really sad.

Yelp
Attended Death is Irrelevant exhibition today and was impressed by the quality of the show. Experimental, challenging, and occasionally humorous work from both emerging artists and bona fide art stars. Can't wait to see the next!

Yelp
The Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, or HVCCA for short, is a really dynamic center which hosts exciting and innovative exhibitions both in its main gallery and its mezzanine gallery. Its expansive gallery space is perfect for quiet contemplation of the art, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's only open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, but visitors are encouraged to make an appointment if they want to visit during the week. I highly recommend the HVCCA if you are looking for an unparalleled art experience outside of Manhattan!

Yelp
I went to HVCCA today for the first time for the baby-wearing/stroller tour which starts a half hour before open to the public for those of us with babies worried about distracting gallery patrons. The museum itself has a lot to check out and the tour guide (manager) was knowledgeable, baby-friendly and extremely down to earth. My 5 month old daughter and I had a great time and was so glad this was offered (they offer these twice a month). We will be back to see other exhibits here.

Yelp
This is a must see when in the Peekskill area. Beautiful work of local artists along with some famous people. One of my favorites was the Word exhibit. You can see some of the works of art throughout town and at the Peekskill waterfront.
