Google
Top notch store & a pleasure to do business with, highly recommend HVV if you’re looking to sell records. Setting up an appointment was fast & easy through their website. Their standard of quality is refreshing & you can immediately feel upon entering the store that these guys love what they do & have a deep knowledge of the industry.

Amazing business to do business with. Very promptly responded to my email, came to my home to evaluate the collection and paid far more than I ever expected. Professional friendly honest business. Would recommend them to anyone looking sell or buy vinyl

While traveling to Beacon NY, I stumbled upon this record store. While not the largest of record stores, the selection and quality of their product was great and surely made up for size! I went in just to puruse and kill some time. I left filling some nice gaps in my collection. Their selection was varied but had many hard to find items. The team was extremely helpful and really knowledgeable on their product. They jumped in to help and when asked about an artist. They new what they had and was eager to show me where. They knew the age and rarity of their items as well. They were also priced very fairly. There product was amazing quality. 40 year old records in pristine shape. Barely a scratch or mark on many. In fact after listening to them at home, my only buyers remorse was that I didn't buy more! Definitely an addition to my top quality record stores. I will definitely make it a regular stop when I am in that neck of the woods. Oh and don't forget to look at the wall... some really valuable masterpeices. While many were to rich for my blood, I felt they were priced fairly as well. It is a real community based place with lots of locals willing to chat up music as well. Definitely worth the stop!

Had collected a large number of old records, sitting in storage collecting dust. I contacted Hudson Valley Vinyl to come take a look at buying them. The owner came in person to look at everything. Super friendly and accommodating, he was honest about the value and offered me cash on the spot. Definitely would recommend contacting them if you are a novice collector and want a fair, convenient appraisal.

Google
Small shop but with an excellent selection and fair prices. Had a great time browsing and found gems in both the blues, 20th century classical, and bargain bins. Definitely recommend and is the best spot for vinyl in Beacon.

I recently sold my LP collection to Hudson Valley Vinyl. Chris was such a pleasure to work with. He came to my residence, looked through each of my LPs, and explained to me the current market, how items are valued/priced, etc. I was very happy with my transaction. I recommend Hudson Valley Vinyl wholeheartedly!

Google
A pleasant and professional gentleman came to our home. Gave a fair price on the albums that he chose. We have already recommended him to two of our friends.

Google
Small store with a very good selection of every genre, but especially rock & jazz. Fair prices, good quality LP's - recommended!

Yelp
Great selection, and the prices are more than fair! Got Eric Clapton and Bob Dylan vinyls for $5 each and both in great shape. Brand New Billie Holiday for $15! Staff is super friendly and every time I come up to Beacon I stop at this place!

Yelp
This was Stop #2 during my Hudson Valley record store "crawl." Excellent selection of vinyl records at fair prices. Seemed like there were many "regulars" that came into the store. There's something for everyone here from the $5 bargain bin to $200 Original Master Recordings (OMR) displayed on the walls. Something that stood out to me the condition of the records - so many are in terrific condition, the stock of records is just very well curated. Staff were playing The Rolling Stones when I entered the store. Another patron ended up purchasing It's Only Rock N' Roll (1974). Reminded me of that scene from High Fidelity "I will now sell 5 copies of the 3 EPs by the Beta Band" haha

Yelp
Before the pandemic, this place was great. Unbelievably, now it's even better. Coming from New York City. It's always nice to see such a well Curated selection of used vinyl. Super clean. Extremely well priced. And this is the only record store. I've ever seen that even puts$ 10 records in new polyvinyl sleeves in the album jacket. What?! They have the standard $50-$60 pricing on blue note UA titles, that's just the way it is. Again these were super clean. They also had a handful of first pressings, including records by Grant Green, and Fred Smith. one of the best record stores in the entire state.

Yelp
Meeting to go through my collection was easy. Prices received for what was bought were fair. Process was quick and efficient, and payment was immediate.

Yelp
They very helpful, very informative! They know their music history and are very supportive of those of us who love music!

Yelp
A Jazz vinyl lovers dream. Well curated collection of records in great condition. Nice listening station as well. Will definitely stop in again when I'm back in the area. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This is my go to place when visiting Beacon. The selection of rock and roll artists is excellent and the quality is very good. The owners are friendly and love the music they sell.

Yelp
After ten years I have finally set up my turntable and stereo and have started listening to my vinyl record collection. I looked for a record store nearby and found this place in Beacon. It's is small, but well stocked, with lots of used vinyl. The prices are reasonable and there is a low key, casual feel to the place which is perfect to spend a couple of hours going through the variety of music there. About the only category I didn't see was classical or new vinyl. it To be fair I didn't ask, I was enjoying picking through the jazz section. I am a little worried about finding this place. It is too easy to get to and I'm worried I'll be spending a lot of time here shopping!

Yelp
Sold my entire record collection to them for a very fair, very generous price, they came to me from New York to Connecticut, nothing shady, no problems or issues, just great business practices and open communication and a smooth easy transaction, and I am very very thankful to them for helping me with the extra cash I needed to move back to California!!! Thank you again for everything Hudson Valley Vinyl!!!

Yelp
pretty nice platters, i like it! I am not as big of a wax fan as likely you as you are reading this yelp, but i do like music. even more than that, i like good music that is cheap! well the cd's were cheap, but i cant vouch for the vinyl. nice and clean, like a fresh stylus.

Micah R.

Yelp
Highlights of this place are the low prices and good selection. Most used vinyl is in the $8-12 range. If you're looking for albums you won't spend $40 at Urban Outfitters for (LCD Soundsystem, Interpol, Paul McCartney, most artists featured on Wes Anderson film soundtracks, Housemartins [yes, Housemartins], Ra Ra Riot) then you'll be happy here. It's small and parking is a bummer but it's worth the trip.

Yelp
Hudson Valley Vinyl is a must for record lovers who are looking for those rare LP's .. Had some records to sell, spoke to Chris.. He said he would come by and check out what I had, he was extremely knowledgeable about the music industry, to the point I learned something new.. Chris was a awesome to work with .. Hudson Valley Vinyl is a diamond in the rough for music lovers .. It's a must see while in the Hudson Valley .

Yelp
Hudson Valley Vinyl is wonderful. With my mom's passing we found my parents record collection and we honestly had no idea what to do with it or even if it was worth anything. Chris was unbelievably accommodating, gave me all of the information we needed and was also incredibly nice. I highly recommend if you're looking to buy or sell - Hudson Valley Vinyl is the place to go! Thank you all!

Yelp
We recently sold a large vinyl record collection to Hudson Valley Vinyl (HVV) and couldn't have been more pleased with the transaction. Chris and John were terrific -- knowledgeable, professional, efficient, and fair. It was pleasure working with HVV and we'd recommend them in a heartbeat!

Kathleen S.

Yelp
We LOVE stopping by here when in Beacon. Rare that either of us leave empty-handed. They have a little of everything and some crazy, rare stuff on the walls. The staff is knowledgeable and professional and it's just a joy to visit.

Cara P.

Yelp
Small store but great selection at great prices. Hudson Valley Vinyl has a large assortment of records organized neatly by genre. Very cute spot and will definitely return again.

Travis D.

Yelp
The absolute best shop in the area. Helpful and tasteful staff, the best jazz selection, and always great background music for while you're pickin. Can't recommend this shop enough

Richard C.

Yelp
Friendly dealer who will give you fair prices for your soul/R&B, reggae, jazz, disco, hip hop etc. I've been here three times now and have never left without something. Prices are extremely fair. 90 minutes from NYC. HVV is a class act!

Yelp
Glad that this shop is open a short walk from the Dia:Beacon art space and local eateries/shops. Small and well-assembled variety of strictly used LPs and 45s at reasonable (read: not city) prices, from cheapies that shred to wall bangers. The bins were full but not overcrowded and even my jazz-obsessive nitpicking hands found a number of choice, fairly-priced records to haul home. The store is well laid out with a couple of easy chairs to relax in and read over liners or sip a coffee (just don't take your drinks near the LP bins, please). A perfect addition for the rounds of downstate day-trippers, and local regulars will find reason to keep coming back weekly.

Yelp
Hands down the best selection of any vinyl record store I've seen. The store is always fully stocked and the owner is extremely knowledgeable. They seem to have everything from the rarest hard to find jazz to everyday rock records. If you are into vinyl this store is a definite must see.

David P.

Yelp
Great addition to Beacon. Chris the owner is knowledgeable and hard working. Love the store.

Billy F.

Yelp
I don't often recommend things. Generally, I keep my favorite places a secret so interlopers and tourists don't ruin my rituals. This shop is simply too good to keep to myself (like I'm the only one that knows how good this shop is...please). If you like records, and you don't stop in and peep the bins, you've lost a little bit of yourself. If, upon a second opportunity, you pass by without stopping you should consider a complete review of your life and experience to date. And immediately change everything because somewhere in there you blew it.

Yelp
Have bought (so far) ~ 10 records from here on 4 separate occasions. Excellent selection and quality. The used records are fairly graded and priced (most stuff in my experience is about the median price you'll find on Discogs.) Jazz fans will find the best selection anywhere in the tristate outside of NYC. Friendly people, great tunes on in the shop while you browse. Highly recommended.

Arlene K.

Yelp
Went into this shop last weekend. New owner and new shop in general it seems. Leap and bounds above the previous one and honestly most city stores. Well curated bins. Awesome $5 section. Most records are in amazing condition. Listening station. Lounge chairs. Friendly staff. Will be coming back on my next trip upstate. Recommended.

Yelp
Great store! Clean and comfortable browsing atmosphere with seating for those that tag along to rest or wish to look through their future purchases. Great selection of jazz both rare and affordable. Seemingly good selection of rock n roll as well from what I saw that they had on the wall. On par with most of the stores I've visited in huge metros (New York, Chicago etc) but with less traffic and quality over quantity for selection. In 10 square feet of real estate for jazz i found tons of selections I wanted. Will be back again and again and again.....
