Really enjoyed my stay here and would highly recommend it to others. The location of the Hudson Whaler can’t be beat. It’s right in the downtown area of Hudson. Easily walkable to all of the nearby shops and restaurants. Parking was easy - there is a lot in the back that you will get a permit from at check in. The room I had was very clean and stylishly decorated. There shower had jets included, which were quite the experience. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great - I really had a good night of sleep here. Check in was easy - I called ahead and got there right at 7, which is when the front desk staff heads out. She was kind enough to wait a few extra minutes for me, which I appreciated. Check out was easy as well. I only stayed one night, but I would absolutely book again without hesitation if I was returning to the area.

I loved this place! My boyfriend and I came for a weekend trip to Hudson. We were within walking distance of all the lovely shops, restaurants, and bars. We took Amtrak to Hudson and walked here from the station. ||This hotel was very well decorated. I like how much they leaned into the nautical and whaling theme. The shower was extremely nice and the bathrooms felt quite modern. The bed was comfortable. I like the interior of the hotet. It felt opulent without being overdone. The staff was extremely friendly, and they totally made the trip. I'd come back here anytime.

Beautiful, well-designed hotel. Perfectly clean and very well appointed. It was really nice having free water bottles and a small fridge to keep things in. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. I definitely plan to stay again when I'm in town! The City of Hudson is very quaint and quiet in the evenings.

Kristine and the welcoming staff are the friendliest in town! I especially enjoyed a moment of organic music and fun in the lobby with other guests! I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone interested in staying in Hudson! I look forward to seeing you all again soon!

I'm in hudson a lot and ive never stayed at the whaler before. I decided to book it on a whim. From the beginning the service was really good. Christine at the front was friendly and great to talk to and was super helpful the entire time. This place was one of the cleanest hotels i think I've ever stayed in. The beds and linens were also some of the most comfortable. I need to know what brand they were because I need to buy them. Shower pressure was also so very good. I would definitely come back and highly recommend. This hotel is in the middle of town too so close to plenty of shops.

Way better than a3 star hotel. And bargain priced during odd season I presume. Elegant, boutique entrance and public space gives way to a smallish room that is impeccably decked out. Bath was top notch. Bed was even better.

Yelp
Absolutely adorable space to stay at! We were looking for a fun one night get away and were not disappointed! Will be back.

Yelp
We really liked the hotel , but do not go o. A Wednesday !! The town is dead. Very disappointing. We went to rhinebeck last year also on a Wednesday ! It was hopping ! Much smaller town, but everything was OPEN! ‍. Oh well. Next year. Back to rhinebeck or Hudson on a Friday

Yelp
I had a great time staying at the Whaler! It's in a nice spot for me to walk around town. No restaurant or bar was more than a few minute walk away. The lobby was so warm and inviting. I just had to stand around and take everything in! The staff were very friendly as well. I was surprised at how quiet it was in my room. It felt like I had the whole hotel to myself.

Yelp
Just ended a two night stay at The Whaler. From the minute we entered and met the receptionist we were charmed by the place. Gorgeous nautical theme, so very comfortable and lovely room on the third floor, easy parking, central location. Highly recommend for an enjoyable Hudson stay.

Yelp
Stayed at the The Whaler last week. It was horrible and the manager was very rude. They were not helpful at all.

Yelp
I recently spent a weekend at the Hudson Whaler to celebrate my wife's birthday. I booked a "suite" (room 302) so our daughter could join us from NYC and prepaid for the room. The "suite" turned out to be a long and narrow room with a bed and a sleeper sofa, which is not a suite by my definition. The hotel is tired with cheesy pseudo nautical appointments and outdated carpeting in the common areas. The room was noisy at night although in fairness to the hotel, it was the weekend of winter walk with a huge influx of revelers. There is no food or drink offered in the hotel other than a Keurig machine. This created a problem particularly on Sunday morning when the nearest breakfast option was not conveniently located. It would be easy to overlook many of these issues if this was a moderately priced hotel; however, at nearly $700/night including taxes & fees, these lapses are unacceptable. A few days after our disappointing stay I noticed an additional charge from the hotel on my card. Upon telephoning, I learned that I had been charged for a guide book taken from the room. I explained to Allison on the phone that we definitely did not remove the book, she stated that if housekeeping reported it missing, it must have been taken and she refused to reverse the charges. In a lovely town with many appealing hotel choices, sadly the Hudson Whaler is not one of them.

Yelp
Clean and comfortable, whimsical decor, very friendly service, and free parking at the municipal lot, plus a great location on Warren St. We'll be back!

Yelp
A charming boutique hotel without the pretense. Everything at the Hudson Whaler was well-appointed, from the brass paperweight (optional keepsake) to the chilled sparkling water, to the hidden USB plug in the nightstand. The location couldn't be more perfect -- an easy walk to all points of interest in Hudson. Beds were super comfy. The shower was a treat. The staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating, especially when I locked my phone in the room at 5:30 a.m. as my husband and I headed out of town . . . disaster avoided with the help of the front desk clerk who came to my rescue. The hotel is destined to become a fixture in Hudson. We look forward to staying here again!

Yelp
Just returned from a fun weekend getaway in Hudson New York and loved our stay at the Hudson Whaler Hotel located smack in the middle of this revitalized town where you can walk to great restaurants, art galleries, shopping and nightlife. The boutique hotel was an artful blend of old and new and I was amazed by the attention to detail that went into this property. The bathroom had fluffy towels with a special black makeup towel for removing makeup and equipped with luxurious locally made bath products that evoked smells from a past stay at the Mayflower Inn. The shower had body sprays, a hand shower and rain head. There was a perfect desk waiting for me where I dropped my laptop and did some intermittent work over the weekend. In that vein, the night tables had concealed charging stations for my iPhone and the bed was made with comfortable seersucker linens. My favorite little detail was the welcome chocolates in our room in the shape of whales, locally made in both dark and milk chocolate. Needless to say, this was a great excursion that felt like a total vacation and getaway 90 mins from home! I highly recommend.

Yelp
Our first visit to Hudson included a two-night stay at The Hudson Whaler and we could not have been happier with our choice. The central location on Warren Street, the main drag of Hudson, was perfect: easy walking distance to everything and free parking in the large municipal lot located behind the hotel. The hotel has been newly redone and all décor is brand new, reflecting the 1800s whaling industry history of the town in style while being utterly contemporary. Staff were extremely pleasant and friendly and our third-floor room was spacious and very comfortable. The room had a Keurig coffee maker and a limited minibar, but this wasn't a problem as an excellent coffee/bakery and bodega are just steps away to satisfy snacking needs. The beautiful modern bathroom had a sleek soaking tub as well as a somewhat confusing high-tech shower that, once deciphered, was excellent. The only thing that surprised me was the absence of the kind of toiletry amenities such as shower cap and cotton buds that one would expect of a hotel of this caliber. There was a very pretty private back patio, surrounded by plantings and flowers, furnished with multiple comfortable-looking couches that we wish we had had time to use for a BYO glass of wine (no bar or restaurant in the hotel but no problem). Over all, our stay was very enjoyable and we would be very happy to return.
