Google
This was a nice little spot to stop while on the road to Hana. They offer smoothies, fresh pineapple, whole coconuts, and crepes. The owner is from France, so the crepe recipe is tried and true. The girl working was very nice and told me about the owner and the farm. Great stop!

We took a break after twin falls. We ordered acai bowl(pineapple)which was really great. We loved it. The guy gave us their farm grown star fruit 😍 which were very sweet and tasty

We stopped here on the way to Hanna. We reached around 8 am and the person was still setting up his stall. We did not want to order something and wait for long so went with a pineapple and a coconut. He diced the pineapple well and the coconuts were huge with lot of water in it. Overall had a good experience.

Google
Way over priced and beware the shave ice is not shave ice. Its a snow cone and very small for $8. We ordered three of the at $24. Not worth it. They girl serving was also very high and almost not happy to serve us because we weren’t “locals”.

Google
I’m surprised by the bad reviews left, but it seems like the owner of the stand employs a variety of people, and the lady who helped me and my daughter was great. We stopped both days that we traveled the road to Hana, the açaí bowls are amazing. We also picked up a souvenir (maraca) and loved the music she was playing. I don’t know if it was Hawaiian but it sounded tribal, which was the only time I heard exotic music that didn’t seem mainstream and available in the US. Will stop again if I return to Maui!

They charged my card with $79 instead of $56. I only saw it when I got home. I tried reaching out but never got a response. Make sure to check how much was charged to your credit card before leaving. I was gonna pay with cash because they were having issue with the wifi but they insisted I wait and pay with card. Dishonesty’s not cool. Not ever going back.

We got a coconut and a smoothie blend here on our Friday morning drive to hana. The coconut water was decent, not much sweet and the flesh was a bit hard (tender flesh is the best!). The view of the ocean is ok, they have a little bench where you can hang. The parking is on a blind curve, so make sure you have someone guide you in or out of the lot. Prices are a bit steep ($10 for coconut and smoothie each)

Google
This was the second stop our my Wife and I's trip to Hana. We had started a little late in the day on Saturday and no one was present at the stand, which was fine. There is a picnic bench and spot to look at the ocean. There's no bathroom here nor wifi. It's a lovely stop though.

Sofyan S.

Yelp
Food (4/5): Got the pineapple cut for $10. If it comes not cut, you can get it for $6. It's pretty good but not as sweet as expected. Service (4/5): Pineapple was done fast and the ability for them to cut it is convenient although comes at almost double the price of the pineapple. The person was nice and polite with no issues for us. Ambiance (4/5): There is a covered bench table seating at the lookout point. Lookout point looks good but a lot of the best views are covered by trees.

Yelp
I sadly have to agree with many reviewers here - the guy standing behind the stand does not smile. He wasn't particularly rude to us but I saw him being sassy with the couple that went before us. The blended ice cococcino with coconut ice cream is really good though. I got a fresh coconut with the meat and it was HUGE! The water was fizzy and tasted funny due to carbonation that happens when the coconut is overripe but the meat was good! Don't listen to all the travel blogs and waste your time while on the RTH - its not worth the hype.

V T.

Yelp
Ordered iced cococinno coffee and side of coconut ice cream. Coffee by itself was not good. Glad we ordered the coconut ice cream. We added the ice cream to add flavor.

Yelp
Stop here if you have a lot of extra time on your Road to Hana trip. Be ready for service that is on severe island time. The lady working the stand kept telling guests "this isn't fast food, we're on island time." While my wife and I were not rushing the sole lady working the fruit stand, it took about 45 minutes to be served 1 smoothie, 1 coconut (coconut water - chopped the top off), 1 pineapple (chopped), a banana (no effort), and one star fruit (no effort). We thought this would be a nice stop on our Road to Hana journey, in hindsight if we skipped this stop we would have been able to see another waterfall or beautiful site. The wait for fruit was not worth the reward.

Yelp
This drink and fruit stand is located a couple miles past Twin Falls on the Road to Hana. There are a couple of signs that warns you of the stop as you get closer. They offer a variety of drinks, snacks, and fresh fruit. I order the Sugar Cane ($5) with ginger (extra $1), and my husband ordered a fresh coconut ($8 with the coconut meat). My drink was exactly what I wanted -- I enjoyed the freshness of both the sugarcane and ginger. My husband said the coconut he picked out was a bit bitter, but I reminded him it doesn't get any more fresh when it's straight from the source. We took out drinks and walked down the stairs to the table with seats. The view was nice and there was a lot of shade for those needing a quick rest break. I would recommend Huelo Lookout as a good stop before battling the road ahead to Hana.

Lucky K.

Yelp
Hard to fathom how this was rated among the Top 15 stops on the Road to Hana. Unfortunately, have to corroborate what other visitors have stated - the dude running the place is very unfriendly. I can't speak to the food or drink items, as the heavy dose of negativity was more than enough to kill the sale. The lookout itself is not worth stopping for, as there are many more scenic views on the road to Hana. This stand is not worthy of your time & money. Keep driving.

Alissa G.

Yelp
Super friendly and a nice shady spot to sit. Order something other than shave ice, though - the machine doesn't shave it very fine. The coconut ice cream is da bomb with chunks of coconut. Yum.

Alice W.

Yelp
came here for a smoothie and thought I'd see if anyone had a similar negative experience. positives: conveniently located after a few hikes on hana highway negatives: man working at the stand clearly did not want to be there I can get over the exorbitant prices but was quite taken aback by this man's negativity. it's unfortunate that he comes to work every day and chooses to be rude. not just an off day for him. if you don't want to be kind, consider a job that isn't customer-facing.

Karen B.

Yelp
Fresh smoothies, gorgeous view. Don't pass by! A bit expensive but worth the experience if you can do it. There's a little trail about 50 feet to a beautiful look out.

Andrew C.

Yelp
After hiking, we hit this roadside establishment. Service was ok, but orders are taken one at a time and the drinks might be delayed in prep. The Maui gold whole pineapple was amazingly sweet. Everyone loved their drinks and shaved ice.

Yogibear C.

Yelp
Still my favorite pit stop in Hana. Ashley was a kind souls who served us awesome smoothies and coconut ice cream. I finally got a taste of sugarcane juice mixed with pineapple juice. Thank you

Jennifer L.

Yelp
The sugar cane juice was expensive at $5 for about 10 ounces, plus it was so sweet that it gave my boyfriend a headache and I had to dilute it with water to be more consumable for myself. Lookout view wasn't terribly impressive. Would've been nice to have a bathroom here too. You can't go wrong with any of the stops on the Road to Hana, and that includes this one, but some stops are better than others.

Amy T.

Yelp
A stop we always make on our way to Hana. Especially great if someone in your car gets motion sick and you need to take a little break. On a clear day you can see the ocean from the lookout. Try getting a slab of their delicious pineapple banana bread. Also, try the sugar cane juice! If you have someone who is carsick, add ginger to the juice-- so great.

Yelp
Aloha, Im not the biggest fan of this place. They have nice concept and the fact that there is a look out just makes you want to stop. But the look out is not that nice (Thy could ať least cultivate the space just around, down to coconut tree. The stand owner has a cat. The cat is going everywhere and was even sleeping on the fruit display. I was hoping the cat had all veterinary checks. That's the reason I bought just some cookies and hit the road again. I would not stop there again.. PS: also was little bit pricey. 5 small bananas got for 3$. Later in Hana I got 4 bananas for 98cents. Mahalo for reading it.

Sarah C.

Yelp
The man at the lookout stand was extremely rude. We ordered one shave ice and when we attempted to order two more...the rest of our order...he flat out refused. Threw ice out of the door, slammed the door, and refused to respond to us. Incredibly rude and aggressive. The lookout isn't anything special either.

Maria R.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and don't stop here. Take you business elsewhere. The dude working the stand is a straight a$$hole. He completely dismissed the fact I was standing there, he gave me his back and when I said what I wanted, he turned around and turned up his music. If you hate tourists then don't be in that business.

A A.

Yelp
The person who works here is very rude. He didn't say a word as we walked up, after we said hello and how are you. I wouldn't return.

Mikaela K.

Yelp
Do NOT stop here. This looks like a great spot for fruit and food but I would highly recommend NOT stopping. Everything is so overpriced and the guy working there was extremely unfriendly. I have never met a ruder person in Hawaii. Not to mention everything takes 10 minutes each to make so it will delay your drive a great deal and is not worth it at all

Alejandra A.

Yelp
I loved this place. A few days later we came back for seconds! Thankfully we had a wonderful experience. The first time we had the owner helping us out and he had a lovely personality. The wait was about 10 min or so the first time. We ordered a few things but out favorite was the 420 smoothie. The second time we went it was much more full, with that being said it took about 15 min to be attended but I think that only makes sense. I don't understand why people can't be understanding of the fact that sometimes things take time and THAT IS OK! Who cares if you have to repeat your order, it's never that serious lol. Sad to see some people give negative reviews on things like this. Anyways the second time around we got a Nutella and banana crepe that was delicious, super food slam smoothie was amazing, and the shaved ice with coconut ice cream was to die for! That ice cream was so creamy and i deff recommend it. Thank you to everyone for the amazing customer service and being friendly. I know some tourist can have nasty attitudes so the fact that your customer service still remains top notch says a lot.

Yelp
The only thing that caught my eye here was... The SUGAR CANE sticks! I was so excited to try it, coming from Alaska and for being Filipino just takes me back to my childhood days when that was like one of the best things I could ever ask for. Then it crushed my dreams, the canes were not as juicy as I hoped for but that's okay my friend I was with had never tried it and it was cool to him. Besides that, I was a little concern about their prices for everything then there's no surprise there because it is... Hawaii so it kind of make sense then again for a stick? For $3?okay. Fair enough. If you hiked for so long then maybe this place would be a good stop for you to grab something quick to go or just chill for a bit on the side. But don't do what I did and just stop there just to buy a dang 4" inch bamboo stick.

Julie L.

Yelp
I can't say the frozen coco cc'ing coffee beverage didn't taste great because that would be an over exaggeration. It was positively disgusting. If you miss the burnt coffee flavor of McDonald's on the mainland, this is the place for you! Ridiculously priced and I had to wait to get back to Paia to cleanse my palate!

Ashley A.

Yelp
A must stop for coconut ice cream. But be aware parking here if headed east on Hana Hwy is dangerously blindspotty. Saw this place on a travel show, so we stopped. Glad we did. Would highly recommend but be careful!

Sarah T.

Yelp
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. There is no organization, the manager/owner is terrible to the employees, the wait is unbelievably long, and the quality of the food is trash. I waited over twenty minutes for an açaí bowl I had to throw away because it tasted so bad and they made my coffee order wrong. While I was waiting, I saw the manager forget to give another customer back his change of $5, ask people what their order was and as soon as the customer started ordering he would turn around and start talking to his employees and everyone had to repeat their order 3-4 times. The lookout is nice but don't get anything from the stand: trust me.

Lai T.

Yelp
31 Yelps Review Challenge: 22/31 Smart marketing, but kind of a pointless stop. The view is boring so don't stop here unless you'd like to (1) purchase some fruit or (2) sit on a covered patio.

Shawn L.

Yelp
After journeying all around Maui and tasting the 15+ 'Best Banana Bread' offerings available, we have positively determined the rightful king. Have stopped by twice, will do once more on this trip!

Annie C.

Yelp
This was one stop of just a few that we took on Road to Hana for local goods. I was excited to see what this little shack offered, since we were in dire need of something refreshing. Unfortunately, I ended up disappointed. First off, it took way too long to make the Chocolate Mana. The line continued to get longer, as the woman, who was preparing our açai bowl, was figuring out how to make it. Yep, she was a newbie, and it was her first time making it. I'm guessing they only choose to have one employee because it's a small little shack, but it probably gets pretty busy at peak times. Anywho, the Chocolate Mana was good, only there was way too much coconut meat on it. I mean, every bite had a few pieces. My boyfriend and I ended up eating around them because it got old pretty quickly. I can only enjoy so much coconut before I get tired of it. So with the combination of having to wait so long (when we were the first ones in line) and way too much coconut meat in our açai bowl, I really can't give more than a 3. The lady was nice enough, but it still doesn't make up for the rest of it. Overall: 3/5 Food: 3.5/5 Service: 2/5 Atmosphere: 2/5

Stephen G.

Yelp
First let me preface this by saying we came here years ago and loved it. We came again and were so disappointed. We got a "cocucino" (coffee with coconut ice cream) and a pina colada. The drinks took about 10 minutes to make with us being the only customers. We got the drinks which were disgusting. The cocucino was all bitter coffee and watery. The pina colada was so pulpy, I had to chew the first few bites. We were so disappointed and tossed the drinks at the first opportunity.

L H.

Yelp
View- not impressive. Apple bananas (5 for $2)- ripe and ready to eat. Great buy! Smoothie- can't remember the name but it was tasty. It had papaya in it.

D K.

Yelp
Ok so we were super excited about going here cause the Maui book talks about it and we've had multiple coworkers tell us about it. Specifically the banana bread, we skipped other banana bread sellers because we were looking forward to it so much! Never in my life have I been so amazingly disappointed about food! The bread was total garbage, it was hard, dry and burnt. Also had a blended coffee, not worth the $8. The gal working there also seemed like she hated her life. You can get 7 pineapples for $30 which is a good deal and the airline doesn't charge you for it, at least that's what they told me, guess I'll find out when I fly. The drive was amazing and enjoyed that part but I wouldn't bother stopping if you are going there for the bread. It's possible they just had an off day but what a disappointment.

Sherry W.

Yelp
I stopped at Huelo for a much-needed cuppa joe. What I ended up with was -$3 and 10 oz of fairly bland coffee. It wasn't weak to the point of being translucent, but pretty darn close. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to try anything else, since a windy storm the night before had knocked out electricity and their banana bread was still mid-bake. Nice plus - they have a free Maui driving map available at the counter. The map doesn't help much in terms of providing details on where to stop during the drive to Hana, but had neat little comments about major cities all over Maui, markings of all the stop lights (no, literally), and helpful tips about the beaches. Yay maps!

Laura O.

Yelp
What a find on the road to Hana! Highly recommend stopping by here and grabbing a coffee or smoothie. Blink and you miss it though.

Kristen M.

Yelp
A nice first stop on the road to Hana. Smoothies were just okay but still part of a fun experience. My 5 year old loved the banana smoothie.

Brady E.

Yelp
You can kind of price things however you want when you're situated in the middle of Hana Highway, but the drinks are still really delicious. Fresh-as-it-gets fruit, blended up in good portions. I mean, tropical smoothie in the middle of Maui...doesn't get much better than that.

Liz J.

Yelp
This was our first stop on our way to Hana that caught our eye, about half an hour past Paia, left hand side. Cute stand that offers shaved ice, fruits, drinks, the best banana-mac bread I've ever tasted & a great photo opportunity. You'll have to be patient while your drink or shaved ice is being made. The sugar cane/ginger drink helped with the nausea along our road trip. Step on down to a smaller drink stand & picnic table to take in the view while enjoying your snacks. Don't mind the cat lounging around.

Aaron M.

Yelp
This was the first stop on the road to Hana. Got a 420 smoothie, which was recommended by the women behind the counter. Very good flavor, but a little watery for my taste. It's worth it to stop here to go down and stretch your legs at the lookout.

Jessie M.

Yelp
I got some sort of banana chocolate smoothie that was pretty good. It's just an easy stop on the road to Hana if you're craving some fresh fruit and smoothies.

Gary S.

Yelp
Good smoothie and cane juice, restrooms across the street too!

Tilda N.

Yelp
OMG! Don't miss out! This place has the best Nutella crêpes on the island. The banana bread is delicious as well.

Gern B.

Yelp
I didn't check out the view, but the food is great - fresh cut coconut, candy, crepes. Nice and relaxing place to pull over and take a break.
