"Inspired by the ecstatic dance structure that began in Hawaii, these [Sundance X Moondance] sessions will leave you sweaty and reinvigorated. Hosted every Sunday at 10:30 AM in huerto roma verde, these are no-talk, no-touch, two- to three-hour-long dance sessions." —KP

I would not recommend this venue to anyone looking to host a professional event. My experience here was extremely disappointing from start to finish. Communication was absolutely terrible. In the lead-up to the concert, it was a struggle to get clear answers or timely responses. I was constantly chasing the team for updates and information, which made planning unnecessarily stressful. To make matters worse, one of the staff members changed the status of the event to sold out when it wasn't. This directly impacted ticket sales and meant that potential attendees were turned away unnecessarily — a huge loss for me as the organizer and incredibly frustrating for those who wanted to come but were misinformed. After the event, it took over a month to receive payment so I could pay the musicians. I had to repeatedly follow up again and again just to get paid what I was owed. I raised these issues with the manager in hopes of some accountability or at least better communication moving forward — only to be completely ignored again post-event by the manager. The same lack of professionalism and disregard for communication continued even after I'd voiced my concerns to him. Overall, this venue made what should have been a positive and exciting experience into a stressful and disappointing one. I won’t be returning and I’d strongly advise others to think twice before working with them.

Very nice place that was built on the ruins of two buildings that collapsed during the 1986 massive earthquake. The place shows multiple ways to recycle almost anything we're using.

Beautiful relaxed spot to stroll and meet Mexicans involved in organic farming and production. Depending on the day, there are vendors selling vegan tacos or small-batch cheese. Look for free concerts, mezcal festivals, and yoga classes.

Lovely little community space with a common garden and a small cafe. On the weekends they have many small vendors selling handmade goods, food, and Mescal.

cute co-op place/park. went in the morning so there weren’t anyone there yet and nothing’s going on but walked around to check it out anyway. there’s a garden, plants stand, chicken coop, and various shops, huts i’m not sure what for.

A great community garden filled with various activities and events. Full of lively volunteers and people who make this a truly unique place in Mexico City.

Nice alternative bazaar in the Roma neighborhood. Events where local artisans showcase their products, along with live ethno-alternative music as well as local fast food, are scheduled regularly, which make this location a nice place to spend a relaxing afternoon.

Yelp
This was such an amazing find. We were finishing up our Eat Mexico street food tour, and we had been visiting with our tour guide, Sofia. When she heard my husband had been a professional organic farmer and gardener, and our tour was ending just across the street, she sent us here. We were amazed to find this amazing urban collective in the middle of Roma. The giant tower you see in my pictures if made of water bottles. There are numerous yurts, pavilions, fire pits, rain collection systems, gardens, and so so much more throughout the large area. When we were there, in the late afternoon, a group of people were building a large pavilion, a few college age folks presided over a small group of school age children, a preschool age group was just finishing up, and people were beginning to arrive for a composting class. It was amazing to learn a little bit about the story of the place, the area purchased by local residents after it had been turned into a dump after the earthquake in 1985. They restored the area and made it what they wanted, an amazing area in the very heart of CDMX. It was also so cool that we could just wander in, walk around, and no one minded or cared. Everyone seemed to be happy, pleasant, and working toward some cool project. It seemed very utopian and I'm sure that's what they are going for. Thanks for letting us come in and check it out.
