Huff Estates Winery & Inn

We visited Huff Estates as the first stop in a wine tour in Prince Edward Coumty. Immediately the bar was set high...from the warm welcome, immaculate setting and knowledgeable staff. The wine tasting was relaxed and personal, with a selection of wines offered together with cheese pairings in an elegant setting. It was a great start! The visit continued with a guided tour of the wine making process and cellars. Our guide was engaging and answered all of our questions without rushing us. At the end, we had an opportunity to visit their shop and purchase wine, but there was no pressure to do so. We left feeling completely satisfied with the visit...highly recommend that Huff Estates be part of any wine tour!

Stayed two nights in October for our anniversary. Our room was clean and lovely! Very nice bathroom and sitting are with fireplace. Patio area was semi secluded so people were not looking at each other. Breakfast room and breakfast was more than I expected. Made to order omelettes, or ask for just eggs. Hash browns, bacon, make your own waffles, cereal, pastries, toast etc. We were very pleased. The grounds are beautiful and of course the wine.

We stayed at the Inn for 2 nights. We read a lot of comments regarding staff being rude. I can tell you that we did not experienced any of that during our stay. The employees were very polite and respectful. Everyone is there to ensure that you have everything you need to be happy. The breakfast is complementary and very much appreciated. You also have a wine tasting included which is also a very nice attention. Do not hesitate to book there!

My friends and I stayed here for a night and had the most wonderful time! We did the experience tasting with Cynthia and had so much fun learning about the wines and touring the winery. Cynthia was SO fantastic and made the whole tasting so special. We then had pizza on the patio which was absolutely delicious. Overall a 10/10 experience.

Had a wonderful stay at Huff Winery. The rooms were modern and clean. Very spacious for a hotel room with a sitting area, separate bed room area and large bathroom with jacuzzi tub and shower. Note, no coffee maker or coffee in room, but it does come with a free bottle of wine from Huff. The included breakfast was great. Made to order omelette station with sausage, bacon, hash brown, waffle station, fruit, yogurt, breakfast breads and cereals. Plenty of choice and variety and all very tasty! The winery was great too. Visited and did the experiences tour. Four flights of wine, personalized tour guide, and personal tour of the behind the scenes. Highly recommend if visiting PEC!

Just got back from a 2 night stay at Huff Estates and have to say, I was very impressed with everything about the place. Rooms are generous size, comfortable, quiet and clean with a private patio. The continental breakfast was much more than any continental breakfast I typically have at a hotel and included an omelette and Belgian waffle station. The staff were super and the pizza and wines were great! If you are planning a trip to PEC, I highly recommend Huff Estates!

September 2024 This winery was okay as I was not impressed by the staff. We were left on our own to look around. The wines were not my favourite, and the man at the outside bar serving the samples was very serious. You have to pay for samples. Probably more fun here if you were in a bigger group. We did not eat here, but there was a large restaurant.

Had a beautiful 2-night stay at Huff Estates while we were in town for a wedding. Rooms were clean and spacious, our room had a nice little patio which was perfect for a morning coffee. Staff were very friendly and the complimentary hot breakfast was really fantastic, better than I've received at other hotels with omelettes/eggs made to order and other options too. We received a complimentary bottle of wine and a ticket for a complimentary flight at the winery, which I was very sad to not have time to try! We did go on a tour of the winery and our guide, Steve, was incredibly knowledgeable and personal. There was ample parking and it was not too far from some great restaurants. Would definitely return for another stay!

Gorgeous estate with an in. And an art gallery. Nice quality wines. I still did not find much for my own palate, but I enjoyed my visit. And my friend found a couple of jewels for his taste. There is a restaurant area serving wood baked pizza...enjoyable! To discover in your tour.

My neighbour had ordered some wine from Huff Estates Winery and gave me a bottle of rosé. It was really good. She also let me know that they had cans of rosé on sale so I ordered a couple cases of 24 on Monday and they arrived on Wednesday. They too were good and still on sale so I ordered another couple of cases so we'll have lots for the summer and they arrived on Friday.

If you're coming here for wine - it's ok. Overpriced and servers rude (maybe racist, not sure) If you're coming here to stay - horrible at best. The rooms are not clean at all, even after having requested it be clean. $300 for a dump. Not worth it. You'd think accommodation at a winery would be nice at the very least ..... it's not nice. In our opinion it's just old, dirty and grungy.

This review is about the Inn and NOT about the wine. The wine is good. Trust me, you'll need the free bottle of rose to make your stay at the Inn tolerable. Everything here is a miss. From the disinterested blank-eyed teenage staff to the lackadaisical front desk workers, by the end of the stay you will feel like you imposed yourself on them by staying here... even though that's the point. Sure there's a free breakfast! Bagels in Ziploc baggies, Costco industrial-sized canned fruit salad in a big self-serve bowl (really? isn't this fruit country?). "Kitchen staff" discussing last night's bender while preparing eggs without benefit of hair net, gloves... God help you if you get close to the Nespresso machine. It can only be operated by Staff (as per the warning notice taped to the machine). Need ice? You'll be directed to the staff fridge. Just move the bag of frozen potatoes aside and there it is in the bottom drawer. The rooms? Don't get me started. The bed is good and the sheets are clean. The layout is bizarre. Everything is low to the ground and wide. Wide wrap around couch, wide chair, enormous circular coffee table. It's just one more thing to trip over. Massive TV that swivels both ways - to the sea of couch or to the bed. But, if you want to watch TV you'll be disappointed. There were no channels that worked. On a positive note, the WiFi works well, and the view of the vineyards is nice so long as you ignore the ongoing lawn mowing. There is a sculpture garden. It is quirky - everything is for sale. They take donations. The bottom line - the Huff Inn is WAY overpriced for what it is. IF the price point was $150 (maaaaybe $200)/night, you could overlook all of the above. But at $400 a night? Absolutely not. We've laughed a lot and will be moving on (never to return).

Was a nice place with fantastic wine and delicious pizza . Go and enjoy food, drink and environment only 2 hrs from Toronto.

Winery had a good variety of white and red wines along with a very limited selection Rose and dessert wines. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Place is very well laid out with a large tasting counter. There is also a restaurant on site. Next time i come back I would like to try the restaurant.

Huff Estates Winery is the biggest and nicest Winery in the PEC area. After a day hopping around wineries in the area, we ended up stopping here for some wine tasting to end our day. I was definitely wowed when driving into the property as this place is huge. An well appointed tasting room, A Gallery (Oeno Gallery), A restaurant and An Inn on site. All the tastings are complimentary and the pours were generous. Definitely worth dropping by Huff Estates Winery for some wine tasting when you are wine tasting in PEC. Maybe even an overnight stay as they offers Mid Week Special at an affordable rate!

I have mixed feelings about the Huff Estates Winery. It was very close to where we were staying so we decided to check it out. It's fairly modern looking and connected to it is an art garden. We tried three different wines, a cuvée, a Vidal, and a Reisling. All three were just okay. We were poured the tiniest of samples, which to me was somewhat unusual for wine tasting. There wasn't much we were interested in trying so we just paid for our samples and left. We walked around the the art garden and went on our way. We were told we couldn't walk around the vineyard as they were working in them, so there wasn't much to see.

This is the Target of wineries in Prince Edward Country. They got this big grande entrance that is on a corner, surely anybody driving by will see it and be intrigued. But they also may be intimidated as it's so grande you start to wonder, do I even go in? Once you go in, beautiful. They got a nice restaurant where you can enjoy. They charge $1 per sample which is reasonable and they'll likely waive it with purchase. Their wine, it's decent. I would say it wasn't totally to my liking but wine is a preference i feel. They have this art gallery as well on the other side, we didn't have time to check it out but I think it's worth it to check out while you are there.

Very disappointed in the overall organization and customer service at this winery. Zero signage or information about the process to get seated vs areas just for purchasing wine. Ended up sitting at the tasting bar and being asked if just sat ourselves and that we had to leave back to another area to put our names on a list (completely fine we don't mind waiting our turn). Don't waste your time go to a smaller winery with better customer service.

Do you know many wineries that do wine tastings w/ Riedel glasses? Do you know many wineries that serve pizza w/ wine served in Govino plastic glasses? I don't....but Huff Estates Winery does! Pizza here is excellent folks, go give it a try! They also do take out!

A great variety of wines to enjoy for a tasting, friendly staff and a beautiful view. The atmosphere by the pizza oven is great and maintaining the friendly attitude in these measured times is amazing. We will be back for certain. The sample sizes were good, the Cuvee was the scene stealer for us.

Two of us went to have a late lunch at the Huff Estates Winery, and then I did a wine tasting and bought a bottle of wine. The lunch was amazing - absolutely one of the best meals that I can remember ever having. I had pork cheek with polenta, and the meat was beautifully flavourful and melted in my mouth. My boyfriend had the gnochi, and really liked it, too (although he raved about his slightly less than I did). We also split a chocolate tart, which was equally fabulous. I have spent a lot of time thinking about how they manage to get the tart to be so deliciously rich without being greasy at all. It was a very reasonably priced meal for the quality - two small glasses of wine, two entrees, and a dessert came to around $60. The location/atmosphere is also really nice, there are big windows inside looking out to the vineyards and a patio that looked like it would have been nice if it wasn't pouring rain. My experience at the wine tasting bar was pretty standard. Because I bought a bottle of wine, my three tastings were free, and the bartender was nice and attentive (there were a few other people at the bar when I was there).

Huff Estates was one of our first stops on our first wine tour of PEC. As someone who often takes wine tours, I made sure to let my partner know that this first experience would be an estate winery, which tends to be a little more large and commercial than the other wineries. The staff were very welcoming and provided a great introduction to the first tasting. $5 for 3 tastings - the usual. We didn't end up buying a bottle as it was our first tasting and nothing really stood out. We took a walk in the "garden" afterwards but were a little perplexed by the arts place alongside the winery given its modern feel. Felt a bit stuffy and out of place which some may enjoy but we were thankful to get moving onto the smaller family run wineries down the road.

This is the only true destination winery in Prince Edward County. A winery, restaurant, hotel, spa, and art gallery all in one, Huff has plenty to offer. I haven't stayed at the hotel or used the spa so I can' comment on those. The art gallery is really nice, showcasing a tasteful selection of local and international artists. The winery is quite nice with a broad selection of French style wines. I wound up buying some of the Cuvee Janine bubbly, a delightful dry rose that disappears too quickly, but you can taste your way through their lineup and find your own favourite. We wound up having lunch in the restaurant as well, and that was terrific. We started with half a dozen oysters accompanied by some of that delicious bubbly. Then we moved on to the charcuterie plate and the cheese platter. Both were very well done, highlighting top quality local products. For the main, I had the pork cheek, which was fantastic. Wonderful pork cheek confit served on polenta with a thyme flavoured jus - marvelous! Unfortunately, after all that I didn't have room for dessert, but I watched some go by and I was jealous. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable, and they are very willing to accommodate dietary and personal preferences. The dining area isn't large but has a patio with a great view and a lovely fireplace on one side so depending on the weather there is a spot for all. Yes, I will be back!

Staff was so rude we left without staying for dinner. Apparently we came too close to the 7pm close time (we arrived before 6). We absolutely do not mind being warned about time limitations and asked to order quickly. There is however no reason to make rude and snide remarks to us. The hostess sat us without issue so we had no idea. Just be clear about your timing instead of alienating your clientele. There is no shortage of great options in Prince Edward County.

The hot complimentary breakfast was adequate for a quick grab and go. The wines are nice too and they have a nice little gallery in the premise. Small touches like the staff keeping track of which wineyards are open during the off-season made the stay all the more enjoyable.

Didn't get to try the food, but the scenery was beautiful and the wine was delicious. Would definitely check out the wood fired pizza on their covered patio next time I'm in PEC.

The Inn at Huff Estates is a quiet place to send the night. The rooms are spacious and clean. Our room backed onto a beautiful water garden. The beds are comfortable and inviting. Hospitality at the front desk was terrific. Includes free tasting, wine tour and breakfast. Very charming.

Staff are snobby and not friendly. Didn't enjoy my experience here. Did their tasting and wasn't provided with much information. They also don't let you go to their vineyards for pictures which seem odd considering that's generally for photos and that's not their main vineyard. There are a lot of wineries in prince Edward county I would recommend trying other ones or more friendly breweries nearby!

Went for a wine tasting, got ignored for everyone else behind me. This was a pretty poor experience and I doubt I will ever come back. Why bother? They apparently didn't want whatever I represented to patronize their business.

Terrible experience and I wouldn't recommend Huff Estate to anyone. My friends and I enjoy going to the wineries to speak to knowledgeable staff and appreciate the art of wine making. Even getting the chance to meet the winemaker is always a bonus. I love hearing about how the wines are created, and seeing the passion come through their staff. Unfortunately, Huff Estates didn't offer any of that. Their staff looked more bored, annoyed and rushing their visitors. They're in desperate need of some extensive training in offering memorable customer service. For example, saying hello to your guests would be a good start. An excellent opportunity to say hello would be when your guests walk in, or when they walk up to the taste testing area, or even better...how about when they want to make a purchase..a hello would be splendid vs "$19, how would you like to pay." I hope the owners take another look at their service team and maybe even check out the awesome experience of the up and coming wineries. For now, your most memorable experience was a negative one. Disappointing to know that their winemakers spend so much effort and time to nail down the perfect bottle to only be ruined by a team that doesn't hold the same passion. Perhaps update your tag line to: Uncorked Unwind Unmatched Unservice

We arrived at 5:45pm with the restaurant closing at 7pm...first thing the hostess did was look at the time to see if we were too late...the restaurant had only a few people were seated at about 5:55pm...with a young child we were just getting settled in and at 6pm the waitress came by and we told her we weren't ready...she replied with a rude comment about how her shift was ending ...terrible service and vibe so we decided to spend our money elsewhere

Food was good but service was awful! For the price, go elsewhere where your appreciated as a customer.

Went here to stay at the Inn on a Sunday night in December. It was an okay getaway for my SO and I. We liked the modern, quiet, and high-end country feel of the place. We stayed in the Seaside Suite and it was beautiful. Well cleaned and a nice layout, with a fireplace and jacuzzi tub. However, the bathroom was oddly placed. It was right next to the bed, had glass cubes for part of its wall, and no ceiling. While it was a nice bathroom, it left little to the imagination in terms of privacy. For a romantic weekend, I would recommend a couple avoid this room (or any with similar layouts), as we had to turn on the shower to mask the sounds of our business, which didn't even really help. For breakfast, we had a few of the options they had prepared, but I had gotten sick and my SO would have too had he not avoided most of the buffet. The eggs, sausage, and bacon were disgusting and tasted and smelled like it was days old and then reheated for that morning. The coffee was bland and had me feeling more tired than alert. Additionally, we had parked right next to the entrance of the inn, but the parking spaces and entrance were so badly iced over that we nearly landed on our backside a few times. Just to get into our vehicle we had to tiptoe to avoid falling on the ice rink. It was extremely dangerous and so close to the entrance, we were surprised they had not salted/sanded it for guests. We did enjoy the room and comfy bed, however we will likely not stay here again.

Awful experience. I would not recommend to anyone. Snobby staff that were very rude and not helpful. "Wine tasting" had no information at all and was very disappointing. The tour guide even made fun of where we live.

My husband and I stayed at Huff Estate Winery & Inn in late October 2015 in the Premiere Suite and we were quite impressed. The whirlpool tub was lovely and spacious and the king size bed was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Their wines are great and they give excellent wine tours on-site with lots of generous tastings. The complementary buffet was nice as well. They offer great value for money.

This is a large establishment in the area. They have a lot going for them. The wine tasting is free if you purchase a bottle of wine. This is consistent with most of the other wineries. The bottles are reasonably priced. I did not try the food at the restaurant but the menu looked appetizing. Here's a good ambience. Would recommend visiting if you're in the area.

Stayed at the Inn for 1 night during my honeymoon road trip. The service at the Inn was repeatedly unimpressive: staff told me they could use a credit card they couldn't and just seemed unknowledgeable about the check in process in general, the staff working breakfast was loud and slamming doors open and closed and dropping silverware on the floor while loading the dishwasher (all this is in the area where guests are getting breakfast), breakfast was mostly inedible and disappointing, and staff were sitting on the ground directly outside the entrance smoking. Generally unprofessional across the board, with the exception of the staff member who checked us out and all of the staff we encountered at the winery, who were friendly, helpful, and enjoyable. The outdoor art exhibit at the Gallery was also excellent and definitely something to see. But, ultimately because of our experience at the Inn, I would not recommend or stay again.

We come to this place a lot and are always happy We tried the sparkling which was nice and we actually liked btr than Hinterland as it is less sweet, the Riesling and the merlots which I thought were very nice. Great wines and great atmosphere and the Inn is also amazing.

We had a wine-tasting bachelorette party of 10 ladies over the weekend and Huff Estates was our first stop. We ended up staying several hours, tasting wine and having lunch. It was a gorgeous day, and both the wine and food was superb. We were graciously welcomed even though we were a large, loud group! The service was great and our glasses were always full! Adam was particularly amazing - he really got the bride going with his sharp wit and hilarious comments. It was an amazing way to spend our afternoon and we all left with a great feeling. Thanks Huff estates!

Stopped for a tasting and stayed for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious and the service even better. A huge selection of wine for every taste. I highly recommend this winery and plan on returning in the near future.
