Hugh Street Cafe

Fantastic breakfast/brunch here to kick-start our day in St Mary's! We opted for the veggie half and it was incredible! So well cooked and super tasty, the word 'half' doesn't do it justice. Quite used to a poor serving or rubbish options with veggie food but this was the opposite. You get to choose mushrooms or beans, so we had one of each, and the rest comes as standard. WOW! Can't recommend this place enough.

Excellent food, coffee and other and drinks. Super friendly staff and great service. Worth waiting for a table if it’s busy when you arrive or you can buy takeaway. Loyalty card which gives you a free hot drink after you have purchased 10 hot drinks - easy to do when, as a couple, you pop in every day! Could say that we are addicted to the cafe!

Modern menu (loved the falafel, the avocado on toast looked good), friendly people, good service. Best pasties in Scilly to takeaway too.

Having just spent a week in the Scillies I think we have spent half of our holiday spending money in this wonderful coffee shop! The coffee was the best that any of us have had in ages, the breakfasts were delicious and the cakes were a dream. Really friendly staff, great decor. The quality here rivals the best of London cafe culture. It’s a shame it doesn’t open a bit earlier for post morning sea swims and also on Sundays.

Hugh Street Cafe is based in the middle, or the heart of St Mary’s town. My goodness, if you arrive early, you are greeted with an array of some amazingly tasty looking deli foods to take away or eat-in. They also make gorgeous salads, cakes, snacks, pastries and much much more. The cafe supports and boast some fine local produce and wonderful gifts. We stopped for a brief breakfast and the best coffee, selected some very fresh n tasty lunch bits and a cool drink, perfect for our day ahead. Super friendly staff as well!! Highly recommend popping in to take a look and pick up some super foods etc. 😊🙌

I mean all I had was the coffee and caramel shortbread before heading to St Agnes. But it was so good, I had the same thing on the way back before the ferry.

Great place for a cuppa and piece of cake.
