Two things:
1) When I called up and asked if they had space for 14 people for dinner, the guy literally laughed and hung up the phone. Fair enough, it was a busy weekend in Davis at the time and an outrageously short-notice request. And yet, when me and my party walked past at 8pm, lo and behold the place was almost empty - there must have been 40 empty seats. Very annoyed to have been so treated on the phone, therefore. And also interesting to note, I suppose, that on one of the busiest nights of Davos, this restaurant was mostly empty.
2) The constant upsells. Bozhe moi, it was never-ending. "Are you sure you don't want a side salad with that sir?" Or interrupting the meal to unsolicitedly ask if anyone wanted an Old Fashioned. We were constantly bombarded with attempts to make us spend more money - and we were already a party of 14 having starters, drinks and mains! What more could you want? Very tacky and annoying.
Do me a personal favour: if you are thinking about coming here; don't. Avenge me!
