My wife + I used the Hui for an anniversary party in January. From inquiry to execution, Chelsea + her staff were amazing. We had about 60 guests but the space could hold many more. The grounds are extremely well kept even after a storm the night before. The Hui is a beautiful space for weddings + it feels very private. Highly recommend holding any events here.

Beautiful and inspirational! Please visit and support this arts center in Upcountry. The gallery, grounds and history are a fantastic experience. This is 50 minutes away from Kaanapali and a very quick drive. Great information from Sharona, who is lovely. Check online for many art classes. Enjoy!

We held our wedding ceremony and reception on the grounds and it was an absolute dream. We wanted something unique and authentic and this gorgeous place offered the most perfect place to host our guests. It will forever hold a special place in our hearts!

The art center is a wonderful part of the Upcountry community and offers more than just classes. They host unique events throughout the year, to bring awareness and enjoyment to the general public. For example, the recent Forest Bathing Green Walks with Phyllis Look that introduced this natural practice here on Maui. The Hui No’eau is a treasured resource for us all.

Small and unique art studio and gift shop. The grounds, buildings are just as interesting as the studio and gift shop.

Yelp
The grounds and buildings are impressive along with the small art gallery and gift shop. It is worth stopping to check out if you're in the area.

Yelp
We've been coming to this beautiful, historic place for many years. Never miss it during Maui Open Studios, when local artists welcome the public to see how they create their works of art. We attended a Santa's Workshop to see how the Hui decorated for the Christmas season and well, to see Santa visiting with the children. We had a great time, seeing Santa's grand entrance and strolling through the rooms and admiring the creative displays.

Yelp
Don't miss out on all the great events and local artists works to gift to special people. We had a wonderful time at Hui Holidays First Night. We love stopping by all year long but Christmas time here is a little extra special. Plenty of parking. Lovely grounds. It's just a great place to visit!

Yelp
Wonderful place to recharge. Smaller gallery with local artists featured. If you can plan further in advance, the art center offers art classes throughout the year.

Yelp
Just taking roads and finding out where it leads us. A tip while on this road pull over if you have traffic behind you, show aloha to the locals. You're on vacation they need to get to work. Drive down this road we came across this sign shop local, I'm all about that!!! We turned in to this beautiful ground that is like drive up to a house only the rich and famous would live. Ethel Baldwin once lived here 1917 and passed away in 1967. The house and ground are now an art school open to the public. There are art classes you can partake in. I can see why, the view the inspiration you get by just being there. Inside the house is now a place you can buy all kinds of local one of a kind art, which is very beautiful. We managed to walk the founds and admire the beauty. Parking is plenty. Be mindful of the vehicle coming in or going out, one lane traffic. You'll know what I mean when you come and check this place and leave with your precious Mementoes. Well worth the stop here even to just enjoy the scenery.

Yelp
So many great classes! Plus it's so worth visiting if you are from out of town! The grounds are beautiful and people are welcoming. Please try one of the local Hawaiian classes like the lei making classes! I have lived here all my life and loved exploring the Lei Po'o wili class and Rose was the Best! I will be back soon to bring family and friends!! Maybe a great idea for a team building event for your local company! I highly recommend all classes here!!

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place before it's a local visual arts gallery and arts school the shows at the gallery really range from extremely good to average but that's probably some of the most art shows all over the world it is a good resource for Maui it's on a beautiful piece of property nice place to walk around they have a good parking now with the gravel lot and they occasionally have some fun events which I've went to in the pastThis is my first order event since the COVID-19 pandemic

Yelp
We had our wedding reception at Hui Noeau and it was gorgeous! The venue alone is breathtaking and so romantic at night. It also features a variety of beautiful places to take pictures. If you decide to have your ceremony and/or reception here, I recommend taking a walk around the entire property to find these spots. Keri, the event venue manager, is really good at her job. I felt that she represented the venue very well. She and I exchanged a lot of emails throughout the planning process and she was always professional. She always answered all of my questions and always made me feel important. If you are looking for a place to have your wedding, go check out the Hui asap. Even if you don't book it for your wedding, it's still a treat to go and see the venue as well as the art gallery.

Yelp
A great place to visit! Check out a video I made about the onsite glass artist. Every Wednesday you can go and watch, 11-1. https://youtu.be/KQKhHY-5aHw

Yelp
Hui No'eau is an amazing visual arts center and school in upcountry Maui. The estate alone is worth visiting as a slice of history harkening back to plantation days which, for better or for worse, are disappearing throughout Hawaii. It's true I haven't had the pleasure of visiting in some years but there's no indication of change for the worse (in fact, it's probably changed for the better with the completion of separate buildings for the different art needs). I have fond memories of attending art classes at the Hui, from courses in pastels, to collage/diorama, and basic ceramics. Remind me to thank my parents for driving me upcountry weekly to take these classes. I recommend a visit for yourself to support the Hui and it's invaluable contribution to artists of all ages. You won't regret the trip.

Yelp
Beautiful grounds with alternating art exhibits. I've taken a bunch of art classes here over the years; jewelry making, ceramics, screen printing, you name it!! I've seen they do weddings here as well, I can only imagine what a beautiful backdrop the scenery must give for a wedding ceremony/reception.

Yelp
Took a water color workshop with Ian tremewen at the Hui. It was over the top. The teacher, the atmosphere, and the fellow artist were a treat. Worth while just to take a drive and see the place. You will fall in love with it. Great shop too.

Dennis S.

Yelp
Excellent place for a short visit. Nice gallery, good overview of its history as a plantation owned by aristocracy. Not a "first trip to Maui" priority, unless you are into art education and Hawaiian art history.

Patricia Gail M.

Yelp
Good art school for all ages. Beautiful setting in an old plantation manager's house and grounds. Lots of choices, pottery, painting, photography, jewelry, glass, all kinds of art classes. They also have a cute little gift shop. You can hold events there too.

Stephanie G.

Yelp
I had my wedding reception here at Hui Noeau. AMAZING!! Staff, amazing. Grounds, double Amazing. And of course, Bev Gannon's Celebrations Catering helped to make it amazing as well. Lots of amazing words, but so truly deserving. Eternal gratitude!

Yelp
Best Gift Shop on Maui!! You'll find the best in locally made arts and crafts. If you're an Upcountry visitor, don't miss the Hui! You can walk the gardens and feel the energy of Old Maui in the plantation days. There's always a great walk-through art exhibit. I've taken ~5 art classes here and I can't say enough about the experience. Whether your an artist or not, you'll appreciate the new skills you learn in theses classes. I've never had a less-than-fabulous teacher or class experience.
