"Hula Lamps for the Home One of the most charming souvenirs from the Big Island is a Hula Lamp. The lamps are a great way to bring the spirit of aloha into your home. They are a much grander version of a dashboard hula doll. Charles Moore is the artist who began creating the lamps based on vintage topless hula lamps he had seen from the past. He’s created a variety of designs, colors, and shades for the hula lamps so anyone can find something they like to suit their home. He’s always thinking ahead to new ideas including hula coffee tables, vases, and sculptures. When you walk into his shop, you’ll be impressed by his creations and likely end up taking one home!"

Yelp
I was so happy to have the help from Hula lamps of Hawaii. Winwisa went out of her way to send me pictures of the lamp shades that were available so I could pick which ones worked for my project. She took videos and helps me immensely. If your looking for lamps or shades for your tropical decor this is the place to shop! The Hula Lamps are just beautiful made of brass I love mine. Thank you again Winwisa & Charles

Yelp
This shop has the best selection of hula lamps anywhere! Wanwisa was extremely helpful in helping me select the perfect lamp and shade for my tiki bar. Her husband Charles is the artist, and does amazing work. I highly recommend this place if you are in the market to buy a high quality, beautiful hula lamp. Big mahalo to Charles and Wanwisa, great stuff!!!

Yelp
We bought a cast bronze motorized hula girl lamp. She's an awesome piece of art- reminiscent of old Hawaii. We absolutely love it. They have several different designs and sizes. The owners were super accommodating and patient in helping us pick the perfect pose, shade design, skirt, etc. Our shade is made of tree bark, giving it a cool antique look. They even have a life sized motorized hula girl. The motor that moves the hips is silent. If you choose to visit the showroom in person, I highly recommend you contact the owners first. They don't have set hours. Also, they plan to close the current showroom in the next few months and are moving it to their residence, which you can visit by appointment. Super nice people - very happy with our purchase!

Yelp
After our first trip to Hawaii, we have always wanted a Hula Lamp. I decided to get one for my wife's birthday and looked at the lamps on their website. I called the store and spoke with Wanwisa. She provides absolutely incredible customer service and goes out of her way to be helpful. After talking with Wanwisa about which lamp I wanted, she texted pictures to me of the shades that she had readily available. When I decided on a shade, she sent me a pic of the lamp with the shade on it to make sure it was the perfect one. I placed the order on a Saturday...she had it packed and ready to ship that day. it shipped out on Monday and I received it on Wednesday. It was the perfect birthday present. Mahalo Wanwisa!!! You're the best!

Yelp
So Ii have an authentic original Hula Lamp from the 40's. I bought it in a second hand shop in Manitou Springs, CO, many years ago for $45. It was great talking with Charles about the history of the lamps and their care and feeding over the last 70 years. His new lamps will undoubtedly become classics themselves in another 50 or so years. I bought a new shade for my lamp, one that was more in the tradition of what the lamps should look like. We went through a number of sizes and styles until we came up with just the right one. Charles arranged to ship it back home for me and it arrived a few days after we got home. Looks great. The service was great, I found the prices fair, especially when I found out what my old lamp was worth.

Yelp
Beautiful lamps! Horrible service. We were in the store over the weekend and were completely ignored. The man working decided to spend all of his time with a group of two women and a man. We were not even acknowledges in the store in anyway.

Yelp
We first crossed paths with Hula Lamps of Hawaii at their old location in an industrial park closer to Kailua-Kona back in 2001. As a young couple we could hardly afford some of the beautiful original art - this is truly island art - that Charles has created. Although we didn't meet the artist on that trip, we did splurge and our lamp became a focal point that has always drawn admiration from friends and family over the past fifteen years. Recently the store has moved to a more spacious and retail-friendly location closer to the airport (a few blocks from the Costco). We went back to the Big Island last month and were fortunate enough to meet Charles and spent time admiring how his art has evolved. He spent a considerable amount of time with our family and exhibited a level of the aloha spirit that is becoming more difficult to find. You can tell how proud he is as you listen to the stories of various pieces created. The level of detail in many of the lamp bases has evolved tremendously while the motion-lamps and the hand painted shades exhibit a story like nothing else we have encountered on the islands. Our lonely lamp from 2001 now has a friend as a second piece of Charles' art has made it back to our home on the East Coast. We love our new classics and HIGHLY recommend that you plan to spend some time checking out this Hawaii original.
