Great place to eat in South College Station. First time I had breakfast here. I had a hard time deciding but I finally went with the Chorizo burrito. I had no regrets. Hands down fantastic! Can’t wait to come try the chicken fried steak burrito.

Google
i went there craving crispy, flaky fries that i saw in some other review photos, but got these... which was disappointing... but the space is completely cool!!! They have a TON of outside seating, games, and interesting surroundings all over. This would be an amazing place for friends and big groups of people. i was weary about bugs being outside, like spiders, but all i had were a few flies, so u put out a few crumbs for them to go to, but they still can't at my main meal a few times, but, that's normal. the sandwich didn't look like much at first, but turned out to be really good. the bread was well prepared with a slight crunch and still slightly chewy, a great combination! the fries... so disappointing 😆 i didn't finish them.

Google
The quality of food was fairly good. The Elvis Fries didn’t really have the cheese melted on them and were a little cold in the center. Because of that we took them home and heated them up later. They were much better the second time! For the price, the serving size of the cheese curds was a let down - but they did taste good! My s/o said the French toast had too many chocolate chips on it and I agreed- it was too sweet for our liking. These are knit picky comments regarding some of what we tried! This why I still am giving 4 stars. Absolutely go there if you want a good burger or breakfast tacos. 😍 I think they were training the lady that was working the register. The food all came fairly quickly, but I think they need more signage as to where you go to order walking from the entrance into the bar. We kinda wandered around a bit! If you were taking someone on a first date though I would definitely recommend this over some other breakfast/brunch menus in town!

Google
A nice little diner to socialize and hangout! It can be very confusing when you come in, as not all parts of the diner are open at all times, and every day they have a “special” type of food day (Friday is Pizza), but once you figure out where to get seated and what’s on the menu, everything is cozy and has a nice old fashioned western diner vibe. We had the Key Lime Pie as well, and it was very good (but also very dense and strong flavored, so some may not like it)! The bar is nice but is pretty limited in the drinks they offer (not a full service bar). Service was super nice, and checked on us often. Overall, a really nice experience, and I wish we could’ve explored the entire diner area! We’ll definitely be coming back to try another day.

Google
Service was great. We sat down as soon as we got there and food wait was not long. Food was amazing!! I got the huevos rancheros and it was delicious!! My hubby got the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast Burrito. He said it was life changing (in other words it was awesome!). He's a foodie so he knows whats good. He ALWAYS finishes his food but this time he couldn't. He said it was very filling!! We also got the garlic cheese curds and cinnamon roll. Omg that cinnamon roll was the bomb.com!!! Oh and the biscuits and gravy were perfect!!! Loved that the gravy actually had sausage in it!! We will definitely be back, but this time for lunch/dinner!!

Google
They were featured on a couple episodes on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Fieri raving about the food. I decided to try it since I've lived just down the road for over 3 years. I'm happy to report it is not overrated. It is a little pricey but I believe it is mostly justified on cost. My wife and I had the Philly Cheesesteak with fries ($12.00 + $3.00 each) and it was all delicious. There is a proper amount of veggies on this sandwich and the steak itself is tender but cooked to perfection. The menu changes all the time so I'm excited to try some of the other items when my sad bank account replenishes. My children had grilled cheeses which made me laugh because this may be considered one of the fanciest places on this side of town. But kids will be kids. They serve you fountain drinks by the can or bottle, so don't expect to quench your thirst here without dropping a few bucks. The service was really nice, at least the lady who helped us was. She was alone in the bar to help around 8-10 people and did a good job. The atmosphere inside has an old homey/rustic feel to it, with a lot of history on the walls.

Google
A very nostalgic vibe and mellow environment! I've heard it's a bit more crowded on the weekend. The philly cheesesteak was absolutely delicious and so were the train wreck fries! My husband ordered the meatloaf and wasn't too impressed and neither was I. It was a bit dry and perhaps he should've ordered it with the red sauce? The waitress was super nice! We will definitely be back with our kiddos.

Google
Very busy place on Pizza Night (Fridays). In fact, so loud and noisy that I could barely hear what the person was saying directly across the counter at the register. Corrugated tin walls and ceiling amplifies the loud noise, I'm sure. The cashier told me that all the food you see here under Menu and in the reviews were sold back in the days before Hurricane Harvey, but nothing you see here posted in the Menu pics is sold anymore except beer, pizza, cheese steak sub, and a simple traditional burger. I got the Redneck Philly Cheese Steak sub, and was very disappointed. I only got half the meat you see posted in the pic under Menu. And I always hate chewing gristle, which this sub has too much of. I got only half the meat you would normally get on a cheese steak sub at Jersey Mike's for the same price with no gristle. Obviously loved by the locals in Wellborn, this is definitely not worth the long drive to get here from the enormous selection of eateries across the street from A&M.

Yelp
True story, I've actually had to rescue Hullabaloo on Yelp in the last few years. No, not permanently closed. More like eclectic hours if I had to explain. No website. You get menus posted on Facebook for the weeks offerings. I don't get to eat here enough being 2 hours from the ranch. I intentionally stayed overnight in College Station to eat breakfast here! Started with coffee at the hotel rather than feasting on the ONLY oatmeal bar I've ever heard of (ewww). One of the dining rooms was already getting busy arriving 5 minutes after they opened. We secured a table; went back to order. Food delivered quickly! We all shared the cinnamon roll to start. Perhaps if nitpicking I would not leave the ball of icing on the top. With plasticware it took some time to spread it out. I opted for the Huevos Rancheros. The green chili sauce is brilliant as are the home fries. Add in the the biscuits and gravy I also ordered. GF's Chicken Fried Steak breakfast sandwich was also a hit as well as the CFS burrito my buddy ordered. You read that right; CFS inside a tortilla with eggs and cheese smothered in gravy. One gripe, this whole adventure started in 2007 with Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. I would love one day to eat in the diner brought from another state shown in this episode!

Yelp
Finally got around to checking this place out and wow, was it good!! The country, farm house vibe keeps this from feeling like a traditional diner, even with the actual tin can diner sitting out back! The menu is small but mighty. Variations on diner specials... breakfast (Southern/ American and Mexican delights) as well as their takes on diner fare. We had the sausage scramble and the huevos rancheros. The scramble is served in a small cast iron skillet. The bottom layer is cheese grits, layered with jalapeño sausage, potatoes, onions, peppers and crumbled breakfast sausage. I ordered mine with an over easy egg on the top. Y'all! It was outstanding. The huevos rancheros were delicious but a little runny. The egg and tortilla base was smothered with cheese and refried beans. The breakfast potatoes on the side were crispy and delicious. The staff was super friendly and the food came out fast. It took me a while to get here, but I'd sure is on the list for many return visits!

Yelp
A great place to come for a quick breakfast or lunch on the weekend. You order at at the counter which is the longest part. The food comes out quick, we received ours within 10 minutes of sitting down. The cinnamon rolls are TO DIE FOR, so if they have some available you must get one. The biscuits and gravy are just like grandmas and the breakfast burritos are HUGE! You definitely get your moneys worth here! If you are looking for a good home cooked breakfast this is a great start!

Yelp
Food was delicious! Service was very friendly and informative. Atmosphere was very neat and chill. Definitely a place I will return while in town.

Yelp
Very disappointed outing in College Station at Hullabaloo Dinner. After seeing the triple D spot on TV I wanted to try the cheese steak. Well the day we went there, they were not serving cheese steaks. Bummer. I tried to make due by ordering the pizza. The pizza was just ok. It took forever to come out and there is limited indoor seating so my party had to sit outside on a chilly raining day and wait forever for food they was just ok. I was not impressed nor did I feel I got a good value for my money.

Yelp
Headed to College Station and my kiddo wanted to try this place out. You might just pass this place up be sure to pay attention, because I passed it myself. Once inside the place had an old country feeling to it. The place was rustic, the staff was friendly and portions of food were massive. It's a pretty popular spot the place was packed and had to sit outdoors. My only complaint was it's hot outside folks. My breakfast burrito was massive and delicious. My wife and kiddo share a meal it was also delicious and lots of food. For the A&M parents, it's a great family place. Will definitely hit this place up soon.

Yelp
We never actually got to order but it smelled like smoke and alcohol. The people were nice but I wish it was better
google avatar

Yelp
The iced coffee may be the best iced coffee I've ever had. The southwest brisket skillet is very good and filling and the cheese curds are bomb. All of that. An extra skillet And Three mimosas. 77 coconuts

Bea T.

Yelp
This place has changed sooooo much since it opened. The appeal used to be the dinner experience. It's nothing more now than a loud bar where you have to go to the bar to order your food...off of a tiny menu that really has NOTHING good on it. I will NOT BE BACK EVER!

Joe B.

Yelp
The place gave me small town vibes. The food was delicious , the environment was family oriented, The service was timely and very helpful. I had the meatball sandwich although the red sauce was very minimal, the taste was very good. Portions were great and French fries were delicious and seasoned very well. I give it a 4.5 out of 5 for experience and taste !

Yelp
We travelled an hour and a half out of our way to try this place. It was completely locked up. If the owners read this, please update your listings.
google avatar

Yelp
This place isn't open anymore as far as I can tell. Stopped by last weekend during posted hours but no one was there. Google maps hasn't caught up with the closure.

LaRhonda M.

Yelp
Hard to go wrong here unless you get there too late & they run out of their delicious cinnamon rolls (served hot & makes the best breakfast/ brunch appetizer for the table). The green chili is so good!

Yelp
This unique diner is worth the short drive just outside of College Station. We arrived just as they were opening up for dinner and we weren't the first one's there. Fun, friendly, and fantastic food.

Cameron N.

Yelp
Great food and great service I always take my family when they come to town, ask any old Aggie about hullabaloo, you won't be disappointed trying this spot
google avatar

Jenn S.

Yelp
Yes, it's a small diner, but it's worth the wait for brunch!!! I ordered the biscuits & gravy, and it was amazing! The home fries were crispy and delicious. The pancake was HUGE!! Was too full to even finish it! Highly recommend checking this place out! Love eating at locals!
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
This is one of the better places we've eaten in the College Station area. We ordered: The kitchen sink omelet - it was huge and very good! Son ordered the redneck philly steak sandwich and loved it. Chicken salad sandwich was also very good Pot roast sandwich was great Every person said this is one of the best meals we've had in CS. We went during Hurricane Harvey and it was empty. We heard the wait can be quite long. Highly recommend this place. The bar looked pretty cool.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was very good, the establishment was fun and kitschy, but were very disappointed with one of the waitresses. We drove from quite a distance to see President Bush's funeral train pass by. The outside TV at Hullabaloo was streaming it. There were a few people, ourselves included, outside watching the funeral on TV, keeping track of when the train would be passing by. The pastor at St. Martin's said let us pray and the waitress walking by looked at us and said very loudly "let's get this party started!". Before that the pastor said something about what heaven would be like and mentioned 41s answer and again she yelled out to no one in particular "that sounds frightening". We were still watching the funeral and she asked us rather impatiently if we were dining today. We were planning on coming in to dine after the funeral and told her so. The restaurant had just opened. She was also our waitress once we got inside. While she waited on us, she was ok. But afterwards she told us that no one would be allowed to park in the parking lot and we'd be asked to move. I don't think she liked all the people who had descended upon the diner and the adjoining area to watch the train. Her telling us we'd have to leave didn't sound right since there were so many people there to see the train who weren't dining so I asked someone else and she said we are all welcome to stay as long as We had patronized the diner, which we did. The food was very good. I had a dinner salad and hubs had a BLT. The waitress' attitude left a bad taste in my mouth. She was rude, she was obviously offended by spirituality by her loud and mocking comments, and gave us bad information according to her own feelings on if we could stay to watch the train. I felt like she really didn't want people there paying their respects. I also think she should shut her yapper when there are people watching a funeral on TV!

Yelp
Quirky atmosphere and delicious food. It was seat yourself and order at the bar when we went. The cinnamon roll was SO GOOD- swimming in delicious goo and pecan pieces. Pictures don't do it justice. This place isn't fancy but I would call it great. One heads up- I couldn't find a baby changing table... so just took a field trip out to the car
google avatar

Jamie G.

Yelp
This seemed like a neat place to visit on our bike and have breakfast. Unfortunately the food was not good. I ordered biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. He ordered eggs, sausage and jalapeño cheesy grits. The biscuits seemed like a week old. I don't even know how to explain my scrambled eggs, they seemed very fake? The grits were chunky and so spicy you couldn't hardly eat them. We saw several orders of pancakes and French toast brought to other tables that looked good? So maybe we just made bad order choices.....

JM J.

Yelp
They're only open like five or six random hours a week and you have to guess which hours those are before making the trek out there. No, thanks. They might as well permanently close like fritella and 5th and Main did. Mad Taco will follow suit too. All these places that start only being open a couple hours a week because they don't want to run a business will eventually get what they wished for. Food was good when I went there before the pandemic. Sounds like it sucks now. And sounds like the wait staff aren't very nice. Won't be going back.
google avatar

Bryan T.

Yelp
Diners, drive-ins, and dives. This was an experience for sure. The ambiance is definitely "diner style" the menu is clear and not overwhelming. The food quality is good. I would like to visit when the outdoor seating is open. I will visit again.
google avatar

Erin S.

Yelp
Great food and nice service! Sometimes it can get a little chaotic in the ordering counter due to the amount of people and space.
google avatar

Marlene M.

Yelp
After wanting to place an order to go, I was surprised how Hullabaloo's attitude showed no concern about the current pandemic this morning. The door to enter or exit has a metal handle; I never saw anyone disinfect it while I was there. I did not see anyone wearing a mask or gloves, including the kitchen crew handing me my food order. The counter-top was never wiped down nor the pen handed each person to use. No distancing was set including people at the bar having their drinks which was full including the tables inside the bar. I would think the health and safety of their guests and staff would be a top priority. I understand the state has given each business the decision to wear masks or use precautions. If you are at risk for any health reason; do not drive to this diner.
google avatar

Allison R.

Yelp
Ive been here multiple times. The inside seating wait has always been ridiculous, like usually 45 minutes to start with, and the inside is a little warm for me. But the outside area is big and on the right day it feels amazing and there is almost never any wait. You get table service inside and you order at the bar outside. Sometimes they have live music outside, or sports playing on a tv. They have board games to play outside while you wait. They have parrots outside that greet you with hello, hi, and howdy. They also sometimes have chickens running around the parking lot. The regular pancake is $3.99 and it's huge! I like to mix in strawberries and bananas. The sausage is also good. I'm not an egg person but I've heard only good things about the eggs. My sister loved her French toast, and I an egg hater actually liked it. I got the churro pancake last time and it was the worst thing I've ordered there. Unless you want to feel like your eating pure diabetes don't order it. Perfect for kids. My mom loved the biscuits and gravy and said it was the best she had ever had. And my very favorite item on the menu is the patty melt. Big enough for two people. Even on my hungriest of nights after drinking I could not take down a full patty melt. It's so amazing and tasty! Other people have tried it and regretted their order wishing they had gotten the patty melt. The mango mimosa is $7 and strong and amazing.

Yelp
Hullabaloo is such a classic spot that you have to visit if you're in BCS! The diner is styled like a vintage 1950's diner, and matching music is played for the whole experience. Everything tastes home made, the biscuits and gravy are my favorite! I've also heard from others that the owners are really great people.
google avatar

Dominick Z.

Yelp
Hullabalicious! Great nostalgic vibe. Food was great! Friendly service and everyone enjoyed the experience. Hidden gem in BCS.
google avatar

Amy F.

Yelp
I recommend two choices 1) the pancakes 2) the kitchen sink omelet (not picture) 1) the pancakes are huge! I got the small stack and couldn't finish! Definitely come hungry or share with others.. SO GOOD; crispy, sweet, and fluffy on the inside 2) this is their signature breakfast omelet and comes with a side of their famous potatoes. I normally don't order omelets but this one is delicious and loaded with toppings. Also featured in the pictures is the chicken fried steak & eggs. The chicken fried steak wasn't anything special but the gravy on top definitely added to the taste. The biscuits were buttery & nicely done Highly popular brunch/breakfast spot especially on the weekend. I've always had to wait 30 min or more to be seated, so I recommend arriving early. There's normally live music and board games to pass the time! We ended up sitting at the counter Service was okay. Everyone was nice, but slow. The place has a southern diner feel, very casual

Linda W.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and the place was unique. Enjoyed the music an loved the chatty parrot
google avatar

Shannen P.

Yelp
So we don't usually walk out of restaurants and I don't ever leave reviews, but it's changing today. We used to love Hullaballoo diner, but after stepping in dog poo in the bar, and seeing the dog chilling behind the bar, I don't think we will be back :(.
google avatar

Tai P.

Yelp
heard about this place so the wife and I decided to make a road trip and try it out. Please is in the middle of no where but it was a fun drive. We love to just get out and go for a drive. Anyway, yes i do agree with others, not the friendliest wait staff, but food was good in the most part. Had their CFS, wasn't home made, i wanted to say it was like the frozen one you just throw into the frier. beside that, everything else was pretty good.
google avatar

Julia B.

Yelp
Went with a friend around 5PM on a Friday and had the whole diner to ourselves until people started trickling in for dinner time. The interior is what Instagram is made for and the food is fantastic. I got a Philly cheesesteak with fries for $9 (HIGHLY recommend, so soft and flavorful) and my friend got the dinner portion of the chicken fried steak for $11 (portions are gigantic but it does start to get soggy with gravy after a while, so get gravy on the side if you can). Pies are $5.99 a slice and the chocolate one is heavenly! It's quite a bit so I would share it!

Lisa P.

Yelp
Good food, but dissatisfied with what was offered to account for the hair found in my meal. Also, pricier than I'd expect for a diner.
google avatar

Dave H.

Yelp
The last time we went for lunch it was a long wait to get a table. This time we went for breakfast, got there at 9 AM and there were only a couple parties ahead of us. I guess those college kids don't get up early on Saturdays. Service was great and the food was hot and tasty. I had the biscuits and gravy with over medium eggs and hash brown potatoes. It's cool how they serve their meals on small metal baking trays.
google avatar

Tara S.

Yelp
My 3year old daughter loves the parrots and our waitress was so sweet. She had the pancakes and devoured them. I had a kitchen sink omelette and it was delicious. The wait wasn't long for a Saturday morning.
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
Was in the area for work. My brother recommended as he say it on Texas Bucket List. So glad I found it. Had their special Philly Cheese Steak: hatch green chilis and a homemade pimento cheese. OMG!!! Loss for words on how much Flavor was packed into this hidden gem of a place.

Hank M.

Yelp
It a nice place and I enjoy the outdoor seating, the food was just a little pricier than what I expected and I didn't find it as filling as other places. Definitely a bucket list item for a college station student

Mike E.

Yelp
Great quaint place. Friendly staff. Great place hidden away. Would definitely go here again.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
Well food network finally did it. Okay so this place is interesting. Very dated. You eat inside what seems like an old railroad car. As per service. It's what you would expect small town. Slow placed. Difficulty multi-tasking. But well worth it. So I had the sausage and pepper sandwich. Really well put together. The sausage link is well seasoned and complimented by some sautéed peppers and onions with provolone cheese. Very tasty and super hot (temperature not spice) marinara. Highly recommend this dish. Only downfall. The fries. Nothing to say about them. For dessert. Bread pudding. Well first off they ran out of vanilla ice cream... So that was a little depressing. However. It was okay. I have definitely has better bread pudding. Next time I'll try a piece of pie. That looked a little more appealing. Happy fooding.
google avatar

Daniel S.

Yelp
Long wait. Patio was dirty and tables too. Rude service, we ordered a lemonade, was served small size with no ice. When I asked for ice they had as waiting until they completed all orders. They refused to serve ice on the side, so pretty much they ruined our whole brunch. They need basic classes of customer service!
google avatar

Craig M.

Yelp
Great food and short wait!! Have to try the biscuits and gravy!!! The pancakes are great!! Good food and service.

J P.

Yelp
Went to try the breakfast items but they ran out of French toast on the person before me in line. I had pancakes and a breakfast toco with bacon. There were 3 of us and each of us received our food at separate times from 3-5 minutes apart from each other with pancakes served first and then breakfast tacos later and finally a bacon cheeseburger and fries. The pancakes were cold, pulled pork breakfast taco was bland, bacon breakfast taco was pretty good with the best thing being the bacon cheeseburger and fries. Staff were friendly but the delivery of food was slow, nice indoor/outdoor atmosphere.
google avatar

Deonna C.

Yelp
The atmosphere was great. It's a traditional old school diner in an airstream trailer. They also had outside entertainment, bar, and seating with a tv. Waitress was very nice. It's very clean. Food was fresh, hot, and dessert was yummy. Our appetizer was Wet Fries. Sooooo good! Brown gravy, mushrooms, and onions over seasoned fries. My husbands pizza was fresh, hot, and homemade. My chicken fried steak was lightly seasoned and breaded perfectly. My salad was fresh and dressing was homemade. My husband got choc pie and I got a choc shake both were exceptional. We will for sure be back. :)
google avatar

Maddie G.

Yelp
Overall the food was aggressively okay. The service was extremely attentive, but the lack of flavor in the meal was disappointing. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it looked BEAUTIFUL. However, it was very bland, the potatoes were yellow (weird..) and the vegetable medley just wasn't the best fit. I was let down because I've heard such great things about this place, but I would give them another try. PS: Get the Elvis fries!
google avatar

Leopard L.

Yelp
I've seen some people complain about service but our service was just fine. Had the breakfast burrito and it took me back to my days growing up. Cute set up. Next time I'll try something that was shown on the food network.
google avatar

Haley F.

Yelp
Best breakfast place in town! All is delicious! Highly recommend getting there 10 min before they open to avoid long wait.
google avatar

Whitney H.

Yelp
Honestly? I could care less about the main entrees, which are your typical wholesome pretty bland American™ food. But the fries? AMAZING. I've had fries from Brussels and Amsterdam which are supposedly world famous for them, but these fries here at your local diner blows them out of the water. I'm already planning the next time I'll come over for fries (and a milkshake!) instead of a transatlantic flight to Europe.

Denise C.

Yelp
Very Disappointed. Wanted to give Hullabaloo Diner a 5 star but received the wrong order and when the correct plate finally arrived there was piece of hair in the breakfast chicken fried steak sandwich. Check your food!
