"Harvey Milk's Camera Shop / HRC, Castro by pixelstud. A colorful array of San Francisco and California branded clothing benefiting the Human Rights Campaign envelopes the space that once housed Harvey Milk's camera store. The store is also a landmark for the LGBTQ movement. Outside, above the store, you'll spot Harvey Milk himself, upstairs in the window of his old home."

This may not be the flashiest landmark we visited in San Francisco, but it was one of the most meaningful for me. The building is the one Harvey Milk had his home and shop in during the 70s and leading up to his assassination. The staff is fun and friendly, and they have a lot of things that aren't available in their online store. My favorite purchase was a set of tote bags that I've used pretty much every time I travel.

You honestly feel like a part of history standing inside, or even outside on Castro Street. Knowing it was Harvey Milk's shop makes everything so much more spectacular. The merchandise is fantastic quality. The store itself and everything in it is beautiful. I'll never forget my experience here and it's something I will hold close to my heart forever. It's incredible the work that the HRC does, and I thank you so deeply, for continuing the message that Harvey Milk tried so hard to spread.

I proudly visited this wonderful institution that has created such a positive impact in our world and I must say, the legacy of Harvey Milk is being carried forward by a team of truly incredible people. The interior of the building has been transformed into hallowed hall dedicated to the fight for equal rights. I was honored to have visited and I believe anyone who wants to learn more about the incredible history of Harvey Milk owes it to themselves to visit this historically significant institution.

Oh man I am so weak for this place. Every time I bring a tourist friend to the Castro I have them stop here. If you're going to get a t-shirt that says "San Francisco", why not get a rainbow one that also donates all the proceeds to a wonderful charity? Or a beautiful baseball cap that says "Make America Gay Again". Fabulous. Employees always friendly and I love the pronoun badges.

The store has a great collection of LGBT-themed clothes, accessories, and souvenirs. The customer service here is awesome! It's a "must-visit" for the historical Castro district.

Cool place to get all your equality gear. They have things for your car, your body, and even your dog. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful if you have any questions about the merch.

I always stop in HRC to just walk around and see what new stuff they have. Since I am a teenager I rarely have enough money to buy their products, but when I do they last forever, so they arent a rip off! The money goes to a great cause that does so much work for the LGBT community so your money is going to a useful cause!

Great collectibles for anyone wanting to commemorate their time in San Francisco, or for any locals who also want to support a great cause. And the guy working was super friendly and helpful!
