"Humble Chicken is a remarkable restaurant led by Chef-Owner Angelo Sato. It transitioned from a casual yakitori to a sophisticated dining experience, earning Two MICHELIN Stars. The restaurant is known for its vibrant and relaxed atmosphere combined with inventive Japanese-inspired cuisine." - Andrew Young
"If you’re yet to have been hit with a barrage of yakitori then you’ve clearly never been to Humble Chicken. The Japanese skewer specialist in the heart of Soho has turned a bombardment of poultry into one of 2021’s most thrilling restaurant experiences. Wave after wave of chicken on a stick is presented to you straight from the flames. Shoulder, inner thigh, breast and other euphemistic-sounding bits of bird. It’s a parade of individually marinated parts, an adrenaline-rush of a meal that, from the vantage point of sitting at the countertop, turns a full-on assault of juicy skewers into something more like theatre." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
"When it first opened, Humble Chicken was a yakitori counter, full of open flames and twirling skewers. These days, the 18-seater counter on Frith Street has shapeshifted into something more formal and fine dining-y—although you’ll still hear Craig David blasting out the speakers. It sits in a sort of dancing limbo between serious and relaxed, so for a fancy-ish experience and inventive Japanese and European dishes in the middle of Soho, there's nowhere better." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"Once a yakitori counter, these days Humble Chicken is a tight-knit fine dining spot making Japanese and European-influenced dishes. There are 18 seats and 16 courses at dinner, but with mid-2000s pop pumping and a mini pig trotter bao in front of you, this three-figure experience feels laid-back. The snacks are excellent, with arguably the best mussel in town, and the deconstructed cheesecake with grated frozen mandarin is a mad scientist creation that impresses. Not everything hits dizzying heights and sometimes the playlist can get a bit too Capital. But few restaurants in Soho are making food as inventive as this." - jake missing, rianne shlebak, sinead cranna, daisy meager
