I loved the Humboldt County Fair! This was my first year I attended and it had everything I expected, music, the carnival, the animals and a band. I had expected there to be more barns and more music acts, but I did attend the Saturday of the final weekend. Loved it.

This year the Humboldt County Fair in Ferndale, Ca. has so far been busy busy but the size of the event seems to feel much smaller than in the past. Some iconic rides and booths keep it nostalgic and a familiar event for us locals. With attendance being large enough to create long lines the organizers have done a very good job of crowd control while maintaining levels of enthusiasm in the crowds that kept fair-goers late into the evening. I do not know when the crowds were finally slow enough to walk up and ride a ride because at 9:30 my son finally stood in front of a line he patiently yet eagerly waited in for just over 30 minutes. The sense I got from fair-goers was that of mixed feelings about the fair in general but a majority I spoke to were happy with how well it handled the crowds given the fewer rides and activities than most people had anticipated. Hopefully the crowds keep filling the grounds so next year the organizers will consider the possibility of bringing more rides, more booths, and more entertainment,

We stopped here because there was a dog competition and thought it would be a fun different way to spend part of the day. They had both speed and agility competitions. It was a very large ordeal lots of people. They also had several different booths to buy cute dog stuff and some food booths. The fairgrounds provided a very good venue for this event and It was nice to see the fairgrounds being used for other things. Both big dogs and small dogs, nothing more hilariously cute than a corgi doing an agility course.

Great County Fair in 2019! Hat day was so fun to watch as were the races. Food was good and I was happy to see some locals like College Cake Balls.

Had dinner there with the Rotary club. My first time there. Was pleasantly please by the number of folks attending. The lobster was so yummy and the steak melted in your mouth. I enjoyed the event and the hall.

Very disappointing to see now compared to years ago. It's alot smaller, expensive, not many fair rides or rides for children, food trailers way smaller than usual at the fair, hardly anything in the flower display, less horse races, and hardly any animals like they used to at the fair. I think this will be my last time going to the fair very disappointing and sad to see that it's not like it used to be.

This county fair is a great country fair! Lots of farm animals on exhibit, raised by youngsters in 4-H and FFA. Plus horse racing on the weekends, carnival rides, and delicious foods. It takes place each August.
