Hume Lake Day Use Area

Almost like I remember it as a kid. Water was cold but level was low wish it was fuller but they still have the big log out there. Oh and it's not roped off anymore so boats can come right up to where your swimming and that's not always safe with young swimmers and now they have life guards on paddle boards but don't do any help other than that still my favorite place to camp everyone who is there camping or swimming or fishing is just so nice and has a great attitude.

I see a comment from (kiyomi V) which says the lake is only for the Christian community, but let me tell you that is FALSE , I've been visiting Hume lake for years during the summer with my own Kayak or floaties and I am NOT a member so yeah you can take your own stuff and enjoy this beautiful lake 😎 and yes there is a Christian community there, it's a summer camp , very respectful kids

Worth the drive. Beautiful lake where you can do kayaking. Be aware that there is a Christian community here and they have membership and get access to the lake during the summer so the kayaking is not valid for public use.

Our yearly visit to Hume Lake is an important event to us now. We come here to honor our son by keeping our family tradition. We like to take some of his friends who are city kids up here to experience this beautiful place. They too want to keep our son's memory alive. He passed away shortly after being wrongfully removed by Los Angeles County DCFS. Innocent families are being torn apart and it's not being reported by any news media.

We stopped by this lake early sunday morning. The fog was still drifting across the lake and the birds were singing. The history of this lake is fascinating. Well worth checking out and the drive down is fun!
