Hummingbird Chocolate Factory, Store & Café

A delightful and delicious experience! I had such a great time touring the Hummingbird Chocolate Factory. The staff were warm, welcoming, and incredibly well‑informed — you can really feel their passion for what they do. The tour was engaging from start to finish, and learning about the bean‑to‑bar process made me appreciate their chocolate even more. And of course, everything was very tasty. Highly recommend for anyone who loves good chocolate and a genuinely enjoyable experience.

Great cafe and friendly staff! Our family stopped in to get a mocha, hot chocolate, and some chocolates. The staff were very kind and friendly to our 6 year old, and the drinks and sweet treats were perfect for the afternoon. Highly recommend stopping in with friends and family. Thank you!

This is a nice little store and shop. We found a few sweet treats to take with us! The cashiers were friendly and quick to assist us with our purchase.

We booked the Hummingbird Chocolate Tour for a field trip for our entrepreneurial unit and it was incredible. Sarah filled our heads with knowledge, our tummies with the world’s best chocolate and our hearts with a passion for this incredible confection. She was peppered with questions by our budding entrepreneurs aged 6-16 and she didn’t miss a beat. The students are so inspired by this local company with international reach! I went on a recent foodie trip last weekend and dropped by to visit this store. We got a explanation of how the store came about, how the chocolate was made from start to finish and had some taste testing. They have won many awards. I bought 3 bars of chocolate and a jar of local honey.

Absolutely love stopping in for a little treat anytime I’m in Almonte. The Lanark Fog is great! They also host events, which are always fun! Love their gelato and the little chocolates. Have bought their bars as gifts too; they’re always well received. Also got my dad one of their toques, and he said that it’s perfect: All the staff are friendly and helpful, and the decor and ambience are homey and cute.

My favourite! Hummingbird is a magical experience. ALL the stars. Hummingbird chocolate takes you on a journey of flavour, like a tiny cocoa novella. It’s deeply satisfying to know that this level of deliciousness comes from thoughtful, responsible practices. It makes every bite even sweeter.
