Hummus Elijah

Very clean, nice space. The herb schnitzel was excellent. The couscous vegetable dish was not great (and I usually love this dish but it wasn’t flavored right). This place is a nice option if you’re looking for a more Western, upscale & casual atmosphere. My only feedback is that the staff could use a little training in being more welcoming, attentive and friendly. No one really came over to check in, see if I wanted to order, or ask if I needed anything. Each time I needed something, I had to go up to the counter. It’s not a takeout spot, so I expected a bit more table service. Maybe it’s just a cultural difference. Still, I had a decent experience.

Craving Middle Eastern cuisine, we decided to try this restaurant. The space is clean, well lit and offers ample seating. We ordered the chicken shawarma served with basmati yellow rice. While the dish felt slightly lacking in flavor but it tasted much better with their green spicy dipping sauce. The regular hummus comes with two pita breads. The hummus has a grainy texture and tastes freshly made, while the pita bread is best when served warm. For dessert, we tried the baklava which was sweet and flaky. The Turkish coffee was also good, just allow the grounds to settle before sipping. Overall, it was a hearty meal and a big plus is that the place is open 24 hours, perfect for late night cravings after a night out.

Honest foodie review: has a lot of potential, 3.5 star for being quality ingredients, but lack of bold flavors Hummus w/ double chicken: was very bland and one dimensional (just chickpeas and oil). But maybe it’s because I prefer lebanese style. Hummus lacks salt, spices and a source of acid (lemon juice) I could tell the quality is good, everything is made in house, but the flavors were bland. Good value tho, I can see why locals love it.

Been wanting to try this place for some time as I always pass by it going to Sanctuary 😆 Ordered the hummus, shawarma rice, and shakshouka. First two were good and I’ll be returning for those. I don’t recommend the shakshouka as it just tasted like Tostitos salsa. You can find better spiced ones in and around Makati ave. The most disappointing part was that the yolks were already boiled (check third photo) even if we cut them immediately to prevent an overcook. Ended up with a missed flavor. Would still return for the hummus and shawarma though! :) Bonus: they have a lovely spice rack on display so while waiting for your order, you can check those out

Good value for the money. I had a large chicken Shwarma wrap with double meat that was enough to fill me up for roughly 475P or $8 USD. Service was attentive and place was sparkling clean. Update: Had a chance to order the hummus here. Wow. That is a delicious and creamy dish. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Poblacion. Easily better than the 3 other shwarma and doner places I've tried in Makati.

Staffs were very accommodating. Size of the dishes were quite big. Mostly good for two. Hummus was the best one here. I kinda missed yogurt sauce but tahini and specual chili sauce did well.

First time dining here. We ordered large hummus elijah with two pitas, large fries, and falafel ala carte. Huge servings and enough for 2 people sharing. Falafel is 💯, it’s not dry compared to what I’ve tasted from other restaurants. Server is very attentive and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family. P.S. lots of vegan and vegetarian dishes!
