"Hunan is one of the ultimate IYKYK restaurants in London. It’s a Chinese fine dining spot located on a pretty street in Pimlico with a ‘trust me’ tasting menu that changes every day. Although you don’t have a choice in what you eat, you should definitely trust the chefs. The food comes out in small, immaculate courses, and the prawn toast and crispy duck are both excellent, as is the seafood. It’s a lovely spot for a serene, white tablecloth-type lunch or dinner that saves all the surprises for its food." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak, daisy meager
"12-18 courses: £98.80 At Hunan in Victoria, you don’t need to worry about anything because you won’t know what you’re getting until it arrives at the table. This old-school, classy Chinese restaurant operates a ‘trust us’ menu where you simply tell them your dietary requirements, preferred spice level, and, you know, that you hate coriander, and they’ll do the rest. The lunchtime menu is £60.80, while the evening menu will set you back £98.80. But it’s worth it as we’ve never had a bad meal here. The crispy fried pork in a bag is especially joyful." - jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

"At Hunan you don’t choose the menu, the menu chooses you. While that sounds a little like J.R.R Tolkien might be the restaurateur behind this place, it just means this is a no-menu Chinese restaurant. Straddling Chelsea and Pimlico, this spot has a ‘trust us’ policy (you can call ahead with allergies) and the results are excellent. Deep-fried green beans, crispy pork that comes in a tearable paper bag, duck pancakes, and banana fritters with ice cream. It’s Cantonese food in a Victoria finishing school environment." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, sinead cranna, rianne shlebak
"Hunan is one of the ultimate ‘if you know, you know’ restaurants in London. The Chinese fine dining restaurant is discretely located on the Belgravia side, with a ‘trust me’ tasting menu situation. Just tell them what you don’t like and they’ll do the rest. We’ve tried incredible prawn toast and crispy duck here, along with spicy pork that arrives on your plate in a bag. It’s a great shout for lunch, but ask for the seats closest to the window as the back of the restaurant can feel a bit cramped." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing, rianne shlebak
