I was just hanging out in Budapest and I didn’t know what to do so I decided to stop in on what is apparently the major national Museum wow what a great decision. They have an amazing garden and a beautiful building. They also have very tight security. they check your tickets at every single door. I thought that was really good because sometimes I go to museums and they don’t check my ticket and they did check at numerous time so that was a plus I also saw a lot of fashion and Armour and like anthropology and archaeology so it was really just everything I love You must come.

Really annoying concept with a ticket, there are 4 “parts” of the museum and you will be asked to show your ticket in every single one, instead on the entrance only. Museum itself is okay, although there is no any logical order, any unique or traditional stuff - the only extraordinary thing is Beethoven’s and Listz’s piano. A lot of, let’s say “twisted” historical facts that are not really true and really not a lot to do/see. However, ticket price is fairly cheap and still this might be okayish way to spend time in Budapest. PS. There are ticket machines on the sides, if you want to avoid a huge line.

The Hungarian National Museum is a great stop if you’re into history—or even if you’re just curious. The building itself is grand and beautiful, and the inside is packed with fascinating stuff, from ancient artifacts to modern exhibits that walk you through Hungary’s story. Everything’s well-organized, and there are English descriptions throughout, which makes it really easy to follow. Even just wandering the museum feels like a step back in time. Definitely worth a visit if you want to get a feel for the country’s past.

I encourage anyone visiting Budapest to go see this museum. It’s full of Hungary’s national history and it is incredible. That’s why I want to share so many pictures of this incredible place with you. It was built as a museum two houses this nation’s rich history. This is a must see for any tourist or patriot who happens to be in this city. Located centrally with parking and several surrounding areas.

I read bad reviews before visiting and was sceptical at first. I think it is worth a visit on a hot day. The park around the museum is a nice place to just chill. You can put your mediums size bags in the locker free of charge that was a bonus for us. Most of the staff was friendly and communicative.

well organised and interesting but with significant drawbacks; many texts/captions are not translated throughout the museum, in the temporary exhibition (visited a science one) nothing is translated. also, staff members are very rude when you’re not hungarian and refuse to greet you, let alone help you. the complete opposite is true for the security team; very helpful and kind even when english isn’t their strongest asset.

The front staff for the entry/tickets were super kind and helpful explaining to me that I could just go into the museum to see the special exhibit of the 40,000 years of jewelry exhibit. Absolutely incredible! It's a temporary exhibit. I'm not sure how long it'll be there, but if you're in Budapest it's worth a stop in.

Incredible collection, Roman and archaeological collection were worth the visit alone. Staff were friendly and helpful as I have mobility problems. Cafe excellent. Price was very reasonable 3800HF, approximately £8, I recommend!
