We had an incredible experience hiking with Nandor from Hungaro Explorer. My partner and I booked two hikes in one day, and Nandor curated each route perfectly to match our skill level. He shared fascinating insights about the local terrain, indigenous plants, and wildlife, turning every step into a blend of education and adventure. He even took photos throughout the day that perfectly captured the effort and joy of the experience. What stood out most was Nandor’s ability to balance challenge with safety. We felt completely at ease, even on the more demanding sections. Between hikes, he brought us to a small local coffee shop on the North Shore, where we got to take in stunning views and support a local business. If you’re visiting any of the Hawaiian Islands and want a guided hiking experience that’s personal, educational, and deeply connected to the land, I can’t recommend Nandor and Hungaro Explorer enough. It was truly one of the highlights of our trip.

Hungaro Explore is simply the best tour service that I could ever hope for. Our tour guide Nandor is extremely professional, knowledgeable and resourceful. He fully understood our needs and went above and beyond to meet our needs. I desire adventure but was afraid of height. He encouraged and protected me during the challenging hike. He is an excellent photographer too! His photos captured the magnificent nature and made me feel I can blend in the vast nature beautifully. This is an epic experience that I will never forget!

Nandor is amazing!! My mom and I booked multiple hikes and have the most incredible pictures to prove it! We would highly recommend Nandor and can't wait to go another adventure in the future with him. We hiked crouching lion at sunrise without too much difficulty. Nandor was so patient with us taking a ton of pics ourselves, then he captured some great pics of us with the best light and backgrounds. Nandor made our visit to Oahu that much more memorable and was a true professional. Our second hike was a ridge hike with spectacular views and on a lesser known trail practically to ourselves. We also appreciated his good food and snorkeling recommendations, too. Pictures are worth more than a thousand words, so we're happy to share ours.

I was on a 30 day mini around the world trip and also visited Oahu. Before going I found the website and Instagram of Nandor. I was really impressed. The photo’s look perfect and this was the only tourguide I could find which takes you to the not so touristy spots. Exactly what I wanted! After having a call with Nandor I decided to book the 3 day tour package and Nandor really overexceeded my expectations, So eventually I even booked a 4th tour with him! It’s too much to write down all the good memories I have but I will try to summarize why Nandor is the best: - Communication is very clear and prompt. Nandor also picked me up and dropped me off for a small extra cost. - I went out of my comfort zone but Nandor always made sure I was safe. It was an Amazing experience and I am still impressed that I was able to climb all the 3 peaks of the Olomana trail! - Nandor’s knowledge is insane. I had the feeling Nandor walked almost every trail on the island and he is very knowledgable and can answer all your questions about the island/hiking and nature. - You can tell Nandor is passionate about photography. I got the best instagram shots and videos. Nandor knows all the good spots to take pictures and is very a talented photographer who has an eye for good pictures. - The tours I took were very diverse. From waterfalls, to narrow ridges, climbing sections and going into the rain forest. Next to that there where a lot of trails were we were the only ones which made it extra special. Nandor just delivered a great adventure every day. I could keep continuing with summing up good things. but all in all I would just recommend booking a tour with Nandor. It were the best days of my mini world trip!! Ps. The Saloman shoes helped met a lot and made me feel more safe. Definitely worth buying especially for the more technical hikes.

I recently did a solo trip of Oahu and wanted to do some cool but hard hikes and was apprehensive of doing them alone. Nandor and his team at Hungaro Explorer made this experience beyond amazing! I booked two hikes - one for sunrise views and another to check out the jungle/waterfalls of the island. Nandor made the experience seamless. He organized the transportation, itinerary, even bought some gears that I didn’t have and would have required on the hikes. These hikes were quite treacherous and I wouldn’t recommend folks doing them by themselves unless they are seasoned hikers. Nandor made me feel super safe, gave me lots of tips around scrambling, climbing etc that helped me immensely during the hike. From the moment you meet him, you can tell he is a very experienced mountaineer and hiker. He also bought his own camera to take some awesome shots for me. Knowing that he also worked for the local search and rescue team, gave me a lot of confidence. Thanks Nandor for the awesome experience! I’m definitely coming back for some more cool experiences with Hungaro Explorer.

My husband, two puppies and I had an incredible experience hiking with Nandor. Hungaro Explorer is the hiking tour company we picked to explore the nature and beauty of Hawaii. Nandor is absolutely an amazing hiking guide. He is very friendly, caring, incredibly knowledgeable and professional. All the hikes with Nandor are spectacular, fun, adventurous and beautiful. We are in our 50 s. We live on Oahu and want to get fit while hiking with a professional guide. I highly recommend nandor with Hungaro Explorer for a magnificent hiking adventure.

I would like to express my appreciation to Nandor for a wonderful hiking experience and to offer my highest recommendation for taking a hike with Hungaro Explorer. For a family of relative beginners, starting our Hawaiian vacation on the side of a dormant volcano to watch the sunrise was a terrific start to our holiday. Should you wish to hike Oahu, I cannot say enough about Nandor and his ability to find the best out-of-the-way places to hike. Our family talked for days about our hike; it was the simply the best, most professional experience we had - mahalo Nandor!

Nandor is highly experienced with hikes in Oahu. He has great options for all levels. I have done a variety of hikes including waterfall in the jungle, a challenging ascent and crater rim hikes. Nandor has tailored guidance for all these different terrains. He is patient and attentive and makes sure that you are safe and comfortable. He also has extensive knowledge about the wide variety of plants in Hawaii. I am hoping to do more hikes with him!

Nandor the Explorer!!! What more can I say about this man and his utmost professionalism. He was in constant communication with us from booking through to the beginning of our hike up the Moanalua Trail. We were worried about the rainy weather but Nandor told us not to worry and I'm glad we trusted him because even though our hike began with a downfall, it cleared up and switched between cloudy/misty and sunny. The weather was perfect for the hike because if it was all sunny, I think it would've been too hot. Only thing was it was extremely muddy but fear not, our guide came prepared. He has spikes for us as well as extra rope since somehow all of the normal ropes that were supposed to be on the trail were cut down or removed. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. If you need recommendations for other trails basically anywhere, this is your man! He's been around so many places and has hiked and explored almost all the places I could think of. I'm pretty sure I would've fallen off the ridges or slipped and tumbled my way to certain injury if it weren't for his guide and ensuring our safety. One bonus thing, the guy takes AMAZING pictures for you on his professional camera. So don't even worry about using your phone, he's got you covered! Thanks Nandor, I shall come to you the next time I want to explore Hawaii's secluded gems!

Nandor provides a world-class experience every time. I have had the pleasure of hiking 4 trails in Oahu with Nandor and each have been difficult, exciting, and a memorable experience. I would highly recommend him as a guide for any level of experience hiker as he personalizes your adventure. He never packs multiple groups together but rather offers a private experience for you and your group. He is an easy companion and good conversationalist, which is important if you're out for a 4-5 hour hike. Utmost professionalism in that he assess your capabilities, keeps a watchful eye, yet encourages you to accomplish things you didn't expect you ever would. My friend and I just did the Moanalua valley to the top of the haiku stairs hike today and Nandor was our amazing guide! Nandor knows his way around really well and he definitely came prepared. We got some rain in the morning and he even brought an extra rain jacket for us in case we needed it. Because it rained, it was extremely muddy. My hiking boots just didn't have enough traction on them for the slippery mud and Nandor actually brought spikes to attach to my shoes which helped me get through the muddy terrain. I ended up destroying them but he was super chill about it. He also brought his own rope in case we needed it for the steep inclines/descents. This 10 mile hike was one of the most challenging ones I've done because of the slippery mud and Nandor is the only one I would trust to take us all the way up there. He has such a positive spirit and attitude! His enthusiasm and passion for hiking and exploration was inspiring! We had great conversations and he even took awesome photos of us, edited them and sent it to us the same day!! Honestly one is the best experiences I've had! Thank you so much Nandor!! If you're looking for adventure, Nandor is definitely your guy!!

I doubt you could find a nicer and more knowledgeable guide on the Island of Oahu than Nandor. He knows the trails and ridges like the back of his hand. I'd highly recommend him for anyone looking for an adventure off the beaten path from beginners to those looking for an extreme experience.

Nandor was the most professional guide and such an amazing host as we ventured to the top of the Haiku stairs. He was easy to book, flexible, and quick with communication. My boyfriend and I were so impressed with his knowledge and passion for hiking. He had many tips in preparation for the tip and throughout to ensure we were comfortable and safe throughout. The hike itself was so amazing and Nandor made it 10x better with his stories and personal journey. He truly made our day perfect and was so positive throughout. He even took professional photos of us adventuring throughout the hike - we are so grateful for our experience and can't wait to come back to Oahu and book him again! 10/10 recommend!!

Nandor is the ultimate tour guide. He is knowledgable about the Hawaiian Islands and is full of wonderful stories. My friend and I were able to enjoy a hike with Nandor the day before we left Oahu, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to end our trip. He even took photos and videos of us during the hike! Our family of four, with two teenage boys, loves hiking in our home in the Pacific Northwest, but we had a once-in-a-lifetime experience on our three waterfall hike with Hungaro Explorer. Nandor is uniquely talented for the work he has chosen, and he led our group with knowledge, confidence, grace, and humor. The hike was quite difficult, but we felt fully supported, and completely satisfied by the end of the day. The experience was further heightened when we received the beautiful photos and video within a couple of days after our hike. I'm a frugal person, but I would have paid twice as much for our adventure.

I was never a person into sports and an avid hiker. For me, it is not just about getting to the peak, it is about enjoying the environment. It is why I always struggle going hiking with people with a lot of experience..... Choosing Nandor as our guide was one of the best decisions we could made when we hike Upper Yosemite Falls. It was a really long hike with a big elevation and the sun was hitting our head for many hours. I got dehydrated and I wanted to give up. However, Nandor was always supporting me along the way and his great mountaineering skills help me going through and finish the hike. I definitely recommend Nandor as you guide for a hike if you go Oahu

Our hike with Nandor was amazing, would highly recommend him. He's kind, knowledgeable, and fun. Our kids (7 and 10) rated the day an 11 on a scale of 1-10. Worth every penny.
