First time here and honestly it was amazing. The place is super fancy, even the employees open the door for you when you walk in and when you leave, which was such a nice touch. We were seated pretty fast too. Our server, Jaime, was phenomenal. Super attentive without being annoying, and he gave some great recommendations. They bring out warm, soft bread with butter to start, which was so good.For our appetizer, we got the combo with potato skins, crab stuffed mushrooms, and calamari with a delicious sauce. We both ordered clam chowder, and it was honestly one of the best I’ve had. My hubby got the porterhouse with fries, onion rings, and a peppercorn sauce on the side, everything was delicious 🤤. I ordered the porterhouse as well with red-skin mashed potatoes and breaded green beans, and it was perfect.To finish it all off, hubby got the pumpkin crisp with ice cream and it was to die for. Definitely the whole experience was a 10/10⭐️ Ask for Jaime! He gives great service and super friendly.

First time eating at the Hungry Hunter Steakhouse. I've heard of the restaurant, but there aren't any where I live. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Seth was very helpful and came back to check up on us often. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, a cup of clam chowder, and a prime rib. Everything was delicious! The prime rib was cooked to a perfect medium rare.

Impressed by the level of service, above and beyond what was expected! Food was great. I ordered: - Loaded potato skins (quite good) - Filet mignon 10oz (cooked to perfection with good side of garlic redskin potato and deep fried green beans) - Cheese cake (very nice cheese cake with a little crunch from the nut-topping) . Total cost 108$

This steakhouse was pretty tasty you just need to watch what you get because the portions are very small. I got the $55 holiday special, that comes with a shrimp cocktail with three shrimp and the cocktail was in a tiny ranch sauce cup which was actually very shocking to everyone lol I wish I had a photo of the tiny cup. My actual entrée was also very small, and the guest that my table that ordered the same thing. I did actually received larger amount more than I did I was expecting the steak to be small considering it was 7 ounces, but the pasta was also a very small serving in the photo. I actually only ate one piece of pasta, and one piece of steak after taking this photo which you can, obviously see I only ate one piece of Sacchetti pasta and a small corner of steak (sorry I didn’t get the full photo I was very hungry)And this meal also came with a dessert which was probably the best part but you can clearly see. There is a almost rotten strawberry on it. It definitely molded, but I just took it off. I wasn’t gonna be too much trouble, considering how long the wait was,. It also comes with a small Caesar salad, or a soup. I highly do not recommend ordering the holiday meal. Everyone else else’s meal was so much bigger and they paid less. It was advertised to make it seem as a lot, but unfortunately I left hungry and I am a small person. If you plan on making a reservation here. Make sure you have plenty of time as well. We arrived at five. We did not leave until about 730. It took over an hour to receive our Food, and over an hour to order. Overall, it was pretty good but I would not recommend the holiday meal. Like I said my whole party laughed at our plates the entire time lol

We had the pleasure of being served by Angeles, who was incredibly sweet and friendly. Throughout our meal, we didn't notice any lack of attention at all, but at the end, she graciously admitted that she may not have been as attentive as she could have been. To our surprise, she offered us a complimentary dessert as a thoughtful gesture. It was completely unexpected and very much appreciated!

I went for take out. I had a $100 gift card a client gave me. I ordered the FAMILY STYLE Chicken Picatta. It said it feeds (4). I got garlic mashed potatoes and a green side salad. It came w/(2) squaw bread loaves and butter. While it states Feeds (4), I SAY it’ll feed (8) EASILY!! Just add a bag of salad to the portion they gave you and you have a full meal for under $100 that feeds (8)!! The portions are so big and I had a ton of leftovers because I only fed (3). We ate on it all week!! Good choice and soooo delicious!

The food is all right–portions lean from okay to small, but certain items are fantastic, like their lamb and bread (that's all, really). I would not recommend their appetizers as they are honestly quite small portion-wise and a bit basic for what you pay for. Their desserts are lacking and a bit stale or old tasting, weirdly. My points off are mostly for the long wait to get food. The service otherwise was great, but on a relatively slow night, it took a while for my party's entrees to come out. The waitstaff are nice and seem to do their best, and are attentive. The ambience is really what you go here for. This is great for Bakersfield, I guess, but it really could be a better experience with the time and food portions and quality. The portions are a letdown for the price and the food is not much to write home about.

A lovely perfect meal service excellent. Could not fault. Best steak i have had in a while. Especially as we are from England.

Check out their prime rib! Huge portions, decent price. Meat was well prepared, perfect medium rare and the sides were good too. Otherwise a nice and cozy location. You feel like you're in a nice little cabin that happens to be next to Costco with fast charging across the street! (Caveat*** you have to own an electric car to utilize the fast charging) You could also I guess leave your kids at John's Incredible pizza while you and your honey bunny cutie patootie go to flavor town

New Year's Eve dinner had reservations but had to wait 45 minutes to be seated I kinda expected this situation Soon as we were seated we got our dinner order in no problem Food was good as we expected we had the porterhouse steak cooked medium rare along with Mac and cheese and scalloped potato this was a substitute for baked potato which find peculiar that you would've out of baked potato's you can a bag at Costco across the street lol also got the Sampler appitezer Dessert was a turtle cheese cake yum Service was also good

Came here recently after seeing their sign. Nostalgia beckons. I remember going to Hungry Hunter with the family when I was much younger. It was good food, food bread and I felt very grown up cutting into my own steak with the giant steak knife. Gone are the wagon wheels as decor these days and it felt much more upscale than what I remember. Wine list was quite respectable. Nothing exactly from the top shelf, but nothing from the bargain bin either. We opted for their "best in town" prime rib and they were flavorful and tender. Their table-side salad made me feel special. All the staff I encountered were all super friendly and very efficient. My water and beverage glasses were never dry.

The food was excellent and the customer service was fantastic. The restaurant was very clean and welcoming. The restaurant was very minimalistic and tastefully decorated. We had the pleasure of having Seth as our server. He was very attentive and often came back to check up on us to see if we needed anything. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, a cup of clam chowder, and a prime rib. Everything was delicious and the prime rib was cooked to a perfect medium rare.

We always dine here for their prime ribs whenever we're in the area. The prime ribs were juicy and tender, didn't come with huge chunks of fat like many other places. It's perfectly cooked to the temperature we asked for. It came with soup or salad plus two sides. We asked for baked potatoes and seasonal vegetables. The vegetables were fresh and tasty. Wine options were good too; always ended up picking something from the manager's list. Service had been great when we dined here. Highly recommended if you're a fan of prime ribs - no doubt it's the best in town (not just saying it).

Nice restaurant, would be good for a date. Staff were friendly and service was quick. The food was delicious. My favorite is the prime rib, so tender and flavorful I didn't really touch the horse radish and other dip. The fruity blended cocktail: kiss on the lips (kiss my lips?) was refreshing. The bread was fresh and hot and that honey butter was delicious! It was sweet so I didn't want it before my meal. The kids corndog was fine the fresh grapes were good, the whiskey peppercorn steak was good too. The soup du jour was a minestrone and it was flavorful. The seasonal vegetables were boiled and the zucchini skin was a little bitter. The fried onion strings and green beans were good. Recommended!

I continue to agree Hungry Hunter is a excellent restaurant and a great alternative to chain steakhouses. Approachable fine dining in Bakersfield. With really good service, a dining experience worthy for a special occasion and/or a good meal with family and friends. Most everything on the menu is done well. Sides are delicious and offer a good variety of options. Unfortunately, recent visits for their popular weekend Prime Rib Roast was delivered with a hint of disappointment. The quality of the beef was far below average. Even with rare cuts, the roast was tough and difficult to chew. Making our entire party wonder if their buyer suddenly decided to buy select to cost cut.

Service and food were excellent. The steaks were done perfectly, they were well seasoned and very tender. Our server was knowledgeable and his timing between courses was perfect.

Dishes arrived promptly one after another. I found the entrées and salads to be well-executed, while the drinks were a bit weak and the sides unfortunately underwhelming. I came here to celebrate my birthday and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary slice of chocolate cake. Each entrée came with a choice of soup or salad and two sides. Even though we arrived shortly after opening, they had already run out of clam chowder. Bread: served warm with sweetened, whipped butter. Very reminiscent of the Cheesecake Factory's beloved brown bread. Equally fresh, warm, and delicious. Kiss On The Lips: a frozen slushie made with peach, vodka, mango, and grenadine. It tasted like a peach ring candy. The mango flavor was faint and the alcohol was barely noticeable. Mini Babas: my favorite bite of the night. Four perfectly cooked medium-rare lamb medallions with smoky seasoning and creamy ranch dressing. No gaminess at all and the meat was naturally sweet and incredibly tender. Tableside Salad: served on a chilled plate with a great variety of fresh toppings including croutons, cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded cheese, pepperoncinis, chickpeas, and sunflower seeds. It was crisp, acidic, and balanced. Prime Rib: served with au jus and horseradish on the side. Cooked to a perfect medium rare and was tender, juicy, and evenly cooked. The au jus added a touch of saltiness, though it could have had a deeper beef flavor. The horseradish was very strong, practically overpowering. I chose onion rings and sweet potato fries for sides, but both were limp and lacking flavor. Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce: rich, savory, and full of umami. It leaned more toward a mushroomy flavor than peppery but paired wonderfully with the meat. New York Strip: juicy, meaty, and seasoned well. Also cooked to a perfect medium rare. So flavorful that no additional sauce was needed. Hungry Hunter Steakhouse truly shines with its proteins. The lamb was one of the best dishes I've ever had and is a must-try starter. The bread and salads were tasty and fresh, but the sides felt like basic, frozen afterthoughts. Still, this is a great spot to celebrate special occasions thanks to the excellent entrees and attentive service.

We stopped by for lunch after getting gas from Costco. They had just opened, so we were seated right away. The hostess was friendly and the service throughout was great - our server was attentive and kept our waters topped off. My SO and I both ordered from the lunch menu. Prime Rib with salad, mashed potatoes, and au gratin. The sides were delicious - no complaints there! But the Prime Rib was a letdown - tough and lacking flavor. At over $30, we expected better. We ended up taking it home. Nice seating, good for groups, and plenty of parking. We'd come back for the sides and service - but probably skip the Prime Rib next time.

Love, love, love this place. One of My favorite steakhouse of all times; especially for a romantic evening out. The setting is so nice. The lighting is low and it's easy to escape your daily woes, once you walk through their doors. All of the staff are always genuinely interested in ensuring you enjoy your dining experience with them.

Stopped in for a late night dinner. It was pretty busy, but we did finally get in. The service was okay, we felt forgot about at one point. Food wasn't the hottest after the wait, but it was very good. The ambiance was nice, casual with a slight upscale feel.

All our orders were great cooked just right and the service was as well. I would definitely eat here again if we stop on our way south from Sacramento.

It was a busy holiday Monday at almost 5:00PM. I grabbed one of 3 tables left in the bar. I wasn't there more than a minute or two when an our server Aiden offered me something to drink while giving me the happy hour menus. He also offered to bring me the dinner menus which helped me make my decision. We both offered the half off house wine & prime rib $3 cheaper than the dinner menus. What a deal! The food was fabulous & service excellent even though every table & most bar stools filled. I'll be back!

As always a fun and tasty wine & food pairing evening was enjoyed by all. The Alpha & Omega Collective presented us with delicious wine that was paired so well with the menu created for the evening. It is always a fabulous evening with friendly attendees. If you love wine and haven't been to one of these events definitely put it on your list. Very very forgetful and slow service. Dropped the rating down a full point. Food was average+. Would give it another shot next time passing through.

Great 1st time Happy Hour experience. Quiet bar where you can talk to your table mates. Friendly service from the staff. Good portions and excellent prices for happy hour. We had the calamari friti. Nice delicate meat with a crispy coating served with fried onions and bell peppers. Very tasty. Also had the crab stuffed mushrooms topped with cheese. Ended with the Hunter wings cooked crispy then drizzled with a slightly sweet pepper sauce. Dug in and finished before I thought to take a pic. We enjoyed everything and we will be returning. Love having a locally owned place to add to our nights out rotation. Probably checking out dinner next time as we haven't been for a few years.

Second time here... Called three hours ahead to inquire about reservations. In speaking with Destiny, we could reserve A place for 2 but could not be guaranteed a table (vs a booth). As she said "well, in case we get busy, whatever is available when you get here is what you get." Since 8 pm on a Monday night is apparently a crazy busy time for them, we took our chances. We arrived on time, and the main dining area was mostly empty. They decided to seat us at the DARKEST table in the restaurant. Literally had to use our phone's lights just to read the menu. Three different staff walked by laughing at our situation. Every time, I said something about it being too dark to see. No one did anything, even though there were empty 4-top tables with lighting. To add to the ambiance, there was 4 men sitting at an 8-top next to us who had apparently just learned curse words and were doing their best to try them all out. Every loud sentence had at least one profanity in it. I dint feel it was the place, or volume appropriate for their conversation. Even though they were finished with their meal when we were sat, they only left slightly prior to our own departure. Jaime (the hostess pronounced it Jay-me, but he pronounced it Hi-mey) was our waiter. He lacked confidence, but was good at his job. I feel badly that his coworkers can't pronounce his name correctly, and feel they are probably part of the reason he lacks confidence. The meat was great. We couldn't see it without a flashlight (photos), and I have a thing about not seeing what I eat. The broccoli was cold, which was off-putting. The mud pie was delicious although I wasn't expecting butter pecan ice cream in a mud pie, as it's usually mocha flavored. All in all, I felt that we weren't valued as a guest here and with other steakhouses in the area, we may be treated better elsewhere.

Omg! Everything was so delicious All of their sauces , like the bruschetta sauce that had tiny chopped olives in it. So yummy And If you like a good thousand island dressing. The bomb. Again, made in house If you request a house salad as one of the sides , they bring out a plate of greens and you get to choose your toppings from a lazy Susan type wheel. Some of the out of ordinary toppings were sunflower seeds and garbanzo beans that made for a yummy salad I had a filet mignon and my hubs had a New York steak. The best we've had in a long time Booth cooked just as requested and they were just so tender The waitress said they had just delivered their meat today so it was fresh cut. We came on the right day- Sunday The service was fantastic. Angeles was our waitress and she was so pleasant, friendly knowledgeable, and fast She had mentioned that they were down a grill so we would have a bit of wait for our meal but the wait was not any longer than any other restaurant We we're their on a Sunday evening so the restaurant was not packed. Maybe that made for the quick service ; however, it looked like there was plenty of servers so that makes for fast service as well Great job Hungry Hunter Steakhouse !! We live about 1 1/2 away but will definitely return. Worth the drive?!

On the drive home from Vegas we decided to stop mid way and looked up places to eat. Hungry Hunter stood out and had very high ratings and everyone spoke highly of their prime rib being the best in town. We eat a lot of steak and meats and we prefer our meats to be medium rare. We ordered 2 ribeye and one prime rib (all to be Medium rare). I don't know if they had a off day but both ribeye came well cooked and probably due to the thinness of the cuts they cooked quickly. Also the prime rib was a little dry and not medium rare too. I like looking at pictures and the ones online show a much more "medium rare" cuts. I was kind of disappointed but didn't want to send it back as my kids were all hangry after a 4 hour drive. Besides the meat not to our liking, the clam chowder was really salty so maybe skip and get a salad. The caesar salad was great (cant really mess up a salad), along with the fries, and au gratin potatoes as a our sides which came out piping hot and cheesy. We also got the brownie for dessert topped with vanilla ice-cream which was tasty. The service was great and the restaurant is very clean and spacious. But I think I'll pass next time if they cant make their steaks right for a steak place.

I inadvertently posted my review of HH and asked YELP to delete it (which they did--yay). I hadn't been to Hungry Hunter in years. To my pleasant surprise, things have been revamped, from the atmosphere to the quality of food. Our wait staff--Steve was amazing. Such a cordial and caring young man. My little niece loves her raw vegetables (What are the odds, right?) and so when she devoured her cherry tomatoes off of her salad plate, Steve went back to the kitchen (on his own) to get her more! I am not a big meat-eater but I still enjoyed everything. The shrimp cocktail is SO good! Top-notch in everything. It's no wonder this restaurant is always packed.

Hungry Hunters are still a thing? Seeing the sign from the road I made a hard right turn to make this my last second substitution for a family lunch spot. I really enjoyed the one near me (Ventura) but it closed many years ago so I couldn't miss my chance to eat here and take a trip down memory lane. We went in and were seated immediately in the beautiful and clean dining room. I ordered the Rib Eye while my kids ordered the Chicken Strips, Mac & Cheese and Sirloin Burger. We enjoyed all the food except the Mac & Cheese which seemed like the boxed brand. It should also be noted that the waitress "Mrs. Tudor" was very nice and pleasant. Also, she was honest as I accidentally tallied the tip incorrectly and added too much to the total, giving her a larger tip. However, according to my bank I was only charged what was noted for tip and not the additional ial $$ added to the total.

Fantastic experience! They are dog Friendly on the patio to a fault, not only were they accommodating with water one of the managers (I assume) asked if our dog could have a bone from the kitchen. He brought it out and it was dripping with remaining meat. Our dog has never had a bone before and was elated to say the least. Every staff member was super kind and courteous! Thanks again for a great night!

We went to the Hungry Hunter for a family birthday dinner a party of 10. I can honestly say I've only eaten there about 4 times out of my 55 yrs on this planet and boy have I been missing out. It's a cozy homey feel on the inside not over or under decorated. Just right. Music wasn't blaring. You didn't have to shout. We were seated fast. Greeted with smiles and warmth. Our waiter Diego was super sweet and handled our larger party with two checks, two birthday girls and ME being kinda needy. I was always asking for something it seemed liked and I felt like a total bother to him most of the time. But he handled the it like pro. He was cheerful and always and I mean always smiling. Our food was great. Everything was on point nothing was wrong. It was cooked to perfection. No one complained. Prices, we all felt were on point for eating steak and prime rib. Thanks to Diego for making our night great. If you need a night out, want a great waiter head to the Hungry Hunter and ask Diego.

We decided to come here and was glad we did. The waiter Javier was nice and attentive. Food was great! I love how the mushroom chicken was rich and creamy. The chicken was so tender and juicy and that mushroom cream sauce was mouth watering. Really nice, spacious layout.

Came in for dinner. They had someone at the door opening it for guests to come in. We were seated fairly quickly and the restaurant seems to be quite full. Big shout out to our server Salvador. He was awesome and took the time to tell us about the specials and answered any questions we had. He even took the time to talk to my son. All the food was delicious and good portions. I really thought it was cool they brought out a whole tray for my house salad. They put it together for you and you get to pick your sides. I had never seen that before and thought it was so cool. A good place to come and everything looked so delicious. Wish we had room for dessert as those all looked good too.

Wouldn't know how the food tastes... went in, sat at the bar area... I must be a ghost because no one acknowledged me for 12 minutes. Not a hello, not a head nod, no nothing. It's cool. I've been denied service before. And trust me, it wasn't busy. And even if it was, acknowledge someone sitting at a table. TVs are small and the ambiance was dated and old. I went to get a full steak dinner, out of the 8 people in the bar area, I felt out of place because everyone was getting service but me. Clearly I made the wrong choice. They said thanks when I left lol. Never again. I won't be recommending this place to eat.

Delicious! Popped in for dinner for one and had the prime rib. I like mine medium rare and it was perfect. From the moment I walked in to checkout, the staff was friendly and professional. The place is clean and quiet. It was busy but the acoustics are nice and that's a good change from the loud environments at other restaurants these days. I enjoyed my medium rare prime rib with the side of potatoes au gratin, a garden salad with ranch dressing, and beer, battered fried green beans. I also had bread service and the bread was delicious, and served with a honey butter. For dessert, I had the brownie à la mode with vanilla ice cream and it was OK; it didn't taste fresh, sadly. I won't get it again. I will keep going back because I can have prime rib any day of the week! Enjoy!

The worst service too start! No consideration for comfort. 3pm tables still dirty. Asked for a seat away from the 12 person party. They would not oblige. We went across the street to Black Angus and was greeted warmly and give immediate attention and taken care of to satisfaction. Hunter steakhouse over priced, under staffed and not worthy of my business! Worst hospitality I. Bakersfield. I am. San Diegan in town for business and will never consider this establishment again , in town or out of town.

This is our go to spot in town for dinner. The service is always great, food is always good. Fairly priced with large portions. Dining area is always clean and welcoming. Recommend this spot for any occasion!

Phenomenal service and the food was so delicious. I tried the new deep fried artichokes , oh my goodness they were so good!! My husband ordered the mini lamb chops and stuffed mushrooms, he was so happy !! I have to say even though the food was on point our server Rose knocked it out of the ballpark ! She was fast , friendly and always checked to see if there was anything we needed.

Fifty two year anniversary, good reason for a great dinner at the Hungry Hunter steakhouse. We entered and were greeted and seated immediately, no waiting. The restaurant had a warm glow from the fireplace that was crackling. It was 4:45 so we were ahead of the dinner rush. The bar had a few patrons enjoying the Hunters generous happy hour golf was on the large TV it's a very comfortable bar. on Mark our waiter greeted us and had our drinks and delicious bread in no time, Mark was excellent very polished and experienced waiter. I started with a Vodka Cranberry and a order of crab stuffed mushrooms both were delicious. We decided on top sirloin's cooked medium salads baked potato's veggies and I had broccoli. Mark bought out the salad platter and made our salads as we directed he was good and so were our salads. The dinners soon followed, both steaks were tender and cooked just right. Our dinner was delicious. Mark offered us complementary chocolate cake which was rich and scrumptious. Our early evening anniversary dinner was outstanding and memorable thanks to the Hungry Hunter Restaurant and staff

Food was okay. 7-8 out of 10. Server talent should be tightened up though. For the price, this doesn't seem like the place for jittery, anxious, disorganized, chatty and forgetful wait staf ( see Denny's).

Best Prime Rib Ever!!! This is the last Hungry Hunter Steakhouse and The Best One Best mangers and employees The service was Extremely wonderful the atmosphere was great just the place to be I Definitely recommend and Definitely Will be back! Thank you Hungry Hunter Steakhouse!

I've missed Hungry Hunter so much since they closed their last Bay Area location. We finally decided to make the extra detour on our way to LA and stop here. It was definitely worth it! Just as good as I remember, and very reasonably priced compared to the Bay and LA. I hope it stays open forever.

Hello Yelpies !!! When in Bakersfield this is a must have location for great food and top notch customer service. They don't rush you for an order and the drinks are awesome. They kept my drink topped off and the cheesecake was delicious. Big props to the management and staff. Very rare to have such a fine tuned team in the food industry. Keep up the amazing work ( oh great job chef )

Our first time trying Hungry Hunters for our whole group except one person. We were celebrating graduation and we had 2 gentleman servers who were fantastic! Steven & I didn't catch our other servers name. But both were so amazing & attentive to our large group! Everything was delicious. They even bring out a little salad bar and you get to pick everything to build your own house salad. Can't wait to come back!

The food at HH for us has always been consistent. Last night we had New York Strip and Porterhouse Steaks with Backed potato, salad, and vegetables. It was all excellent. Eric was the waiter who took care of our table and he does a very good job Eric has been our waiter twice now and he is the reason I undated my previous review.

Dear Kevin I love ur restaurant. That being said I'm sad leaving this review.at 638Pm Called in to place an order to go. It's Monday night not exceptionally busy. Ordered a prime rib double veggie and a carrot cake. Was told over the phone 20minutes till it is ready. Was then told that they would call me if it is ready sooner. I thought... WOW! Thats quick. I get to the restaurant paid for my meal at 7:04 PM to pick it up. .... your staff told me shes bagging it at 733pm, handed me my meal at 738pm Not a big deal had i not been told 20mins and we'll call u if it's sooner. Did they forget to put my order in? Does it normally take that long for a pickup order? Is tha the 1 1/4lb cut of prime? The front of the house said that you weren't available to talk so I'm leaving this for you here.

I ordered the Cajun chicken Panini. The chicken was very dry and tasteless. The onion rings we're purchased from Cisco or somewhere. Those weren't very good either. I will never come here again. I do not recommend this place!

The food is always great. We came for thanksgiving dinner. We already had a reservation for 2, but had an unexpected guest arrive. The staff was very professional and accommodating when I asked to change our reservation to three. The atmosphere was pleasant and even though they were extremely busy, the service was excellent. I forgot to get pictures of my turkey dinner and my husband's prime rib but oh my goodness! It was delicious!

First time here and no doubt abouI will be back. The waitress Brianna was so awesome. The table side salad was such a cool experience. The food, drinks and service were great! They have coupons too jijiji just an FYI!

Great service and great food, but do not have wheelchair accessible table. Took 90 yr old mom for dinner and she could not get close enough to the table to enjoy her meal. Server was very accommodating and tried her best

On Tuesday October 28, 2025 I came in for dinner for a Birthday party celebration and ordered the Forest Mushroom Chicken. The food was good and the service was also good the waiter would come by regularly to check in the party of 8. I had ate approximately 65% of my food but still had most of my second chicken breast left but cut. I suddenly chewed on a piece of plastic. I brought it out of my mouth it measured approximately 1 inch long and half an inch wide. When I told the waiter he gave me explanation and asked me, "the plastic from the straw." I was like no this plastic was thicker and straight unlike a plastic cover from a straw that is very thin and folds easily. He took the plate and said let me see what I can do for you. He came back a few moments later to advise me a $10 credit would be applied. Upon completion of everyone's dinner we received our receipt and yes a $10 credit was applied but I was also charged for the meal. I was not impressed by this restaurant and will never return. They made it seem like it was me that made a the drop of the plastic and killed my appetite. Thank you for your customer service but I will not be returning here. Update... Yes I was not charged for the meal and only when it was brought up again but to the manager. It should have never took for us to talk to a manager or "the second level". This should have been taken care of immediately. No the piece of plastic was not from the straw cover because it was not the same type or design as the cover. Also I noticed a camera over that table please review the video and train your staff to not accuse customers of placing it either by accident or on purpose. Also the plastic made it to my mouth. But I did learn a valuable lesson from this restaurant take pictures next time to post it. Please train your staff to resolve issues at the lowest level and also to not push your theories of placing the straw cover on to the plate and on to the chicken then placing it in my mouth.

We were only in Bakersfield for a few nights and this restaurant shared the parking lot with the hotel we were staying in, so decided to give it a try. The portions are large since with every main dish you get a choice of soup or salad and 2 sides. I opted for the ribs, with onion rings, and potato gratin. We also decided that while we couldn't finish our meals, we needed to take a dessert back with us to eat later. We went with the chocolate molten cake which they boxed up for us. Later when our full bells had settled we enjoyed the cake and it was great!

We had a big party here and it was well staffed and coordinated. We had 30 guests in our party and they did an awesome job at organizing each detail. The appetizers: sampler, mini lamb chops, shrimp platters were devine. Our server continued to replace as needed. Everyone ordered either ribeye or prime rib or some porterhouse steaks. All meat was cooked to perfection for each guest. The biggest thing for us was our servers. Each of our servers were attentive and always there to refill drinks, appetizers, or anything our party needed. Dessert trays were the highlight, along with coffee. There are many places in Bakersfield that will host big parties, but if you want class service and terrific food, then Hungry Hunter does it right.
