Everything is GOOD! I got their Bacon benny and it was o-kay. Their hollandaise tasted more of melted cheese and their pickled onion didn’t really taste pickled. I do love how you can order to the front so you can take as much time as you would like. It was our first visit and I would come back to try their waffles. Service is great, they were very nice. As well as the atmosphere. I loved their layout.

I'm a fairly simple eater and love Hunter Gather. The classic breakfast was fantastic! Lots of delicious food for a surprisingly reasonable price, considering most food in Whistler is marked up quite a bit. I've gone back multiple times to have the brisket sandwich with pemberton potatoes for dinner. The brisket is very soft, moist, and tasty! The horseradish on it is very mild, so don't let that scare you away from it. My mother and I were both ranting and raving about the brisket for days. I'm generally a French fries kinda guy, but the pemberton potatoes were a nice surprise. They are basically fried potato chunks that are nice and crispy on the outside and decently soft on the inside. On one visit, my girlfriend ordered the Cured Salmon & Pesto Salad and thought it was too salty. The staff was very kind and exchanged it for a brisket sandwich, which she was very happy with. On another visit, my girlfriend ordered the Hunter Shawarma and did not like it. She claimed the beef was overcooked and she didn't like the chicken marinade. The staff was more than accommodating and swapped it free of charge for a Chicken Shawarma, which she was very happy with. All in all, the food selection is great, for a reasonable price. The staff is more than gracious and accommodating. The environment is comfortable, with plenty of seating, natural lighting, and comfortable music volume levels. So even though it might not be a quiet dining experience, based on how busy it is, you also don't need to worry about being able to hear the people at your table.

Google
I’m not sure the high ratings are deserved. We ordered a burger and poutine after reading a review calling it the best poutine. However, it was far too salty — to the point that it made my tongue hurt. Since we were sitting on the patio and ordered at the counter ourselves, I tipped 18% upfront. The server only checked on us once, when the food was done. In hindsight, the experience didn’t warrant that level of tipping

Google
We (party of 4) ordered a Grant's platter for two, a salmon pesto bowl & a vegan burger to share. The salmon pesto bowl was INCREDIBLE, the pesto vinaigrette was soo good paired with all the other greens!!! I loved the chickpeas in the vegan burger (I believe it was like chickpeas paste of some sort on the burger, like you smeared hummus onto the burger type thing) and the jalapeño cornbread was done SO WELL: amazing crust, flavor and size :)

Google
Omg this place is so good. We enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on the patio. I ordered the spicy chicken burger and it was perfect. So tender and tasty. The salad was dope too. Nice lil watermelon radishes in it. The beer list makes for a solid flight. And my mom thought the burger was one of the best she's had in ages. Real local meat is so welcome. Thanks guys for a stellar meal!

Google
Very Friendly staffs and delicious food! A staff warned us this bbq plate will be too big for 2 people but we were glad we ordered! It was big portion but we didn’t eat corn bread and beans so it was perfect! 🤣 Definitely going back on our next Whistler trip ♥️ oh the Mango beer was so good too!

Google
Delicious! We shared a chicken burger and a regular burger. Both were fantastic. Highly recommended.

Google
I REALLY liked this place!! I had the salmon pesto bowl and my friend had the fish and chips. VERY tasty and fresh. Atmosphere is cool and staff are attentive and extremely friendly. Happy Hour prices on beverages and food were an added benefit!

Yelp
We love coming here for its sample meat platter and sample beers. It is clean, offers friendly service, you order and pay at the counter when you are ready, and the variety of food and drinks makes it fun to eat. Everything is good except the brisket is a bit tough. But still love it here!

Yelp
love the vibe and the space. nice service. my smoked salmon benny was very expensive and the fish was too salty, tasted non fresh. coffee was not great. music: 70s era disco at a reasonable volume

Yelp
We went for breakfast since there was not a wait and we needed to get going to head out of town. As a gluten-free person, it was really limited since I cannot have cross-contaminated food. They did not have alternatives for the potatoes or toast so all I could eat was eggs and bacon and ham and fruit. If you are GF, I would eat elsewhere. The eggs and meat were very good though. Since it is Oct, the fruit was out of season and subpar. My hubby had the potato croquette and said it was neither here nor there. Not mashed potato inside but not like other potato things- just weird and not even flavorful. Very clean inside, including bathrooms Staff very nice in helping understanding food for allergies. Probably best to just skip it though based on food

Yelp
We wanted dinner but didn't want to walk very far from our Airbnb and Hunter Gather was right across the street. Score! No wait to get seated. It's a walk up (after you've been seated). We chose the pemberton bowl, brisket sandwich with the soup of the day (ginger carrot) and some drinks. The salad came out first - I loved all the components and dressing but wished the pemberton potatoes were served warm, not cold. The brisket meat melted in your mouth and the carrot ginger soup was a really nice flavor profile, surprise for us as we haven't had that soup before. Staff was quick and bussed tables after eating. Super lovely vibe, hockey was on, lots of jubilant conversations!

Yelp
If you want a healthy, quick, and delicious meal in a low key setting in Whistler, Hunter Gather is the perfect spot! I got a chicken shawarma, along with a side salad. The chicken shawarma was wrapped together with fresh ingredients: pickled red onions, hummus, arugula, and tabouli. The service was also fantastic - the staff were attentive, took my order quickly, and came by regularly to fill up my water.

Yelp
Love coming here. Food is always been great. This time had the beef brisket. Flavourful and very easy to eat lean beef. It is a little dry, so suggest paring with salad or soup (cones with meal). The Hunter burgers are signature. Very delicious and nicely paired with a potatoes bun. Perfect match. Since has always been great. Highly suggest!

Yelp
This place was an absolute treat for my taste buds. Their smoked salmon and Chinook salmon are, without a doubt, the best I have ever had. The smoked salmon was perfectly balanced, with a rich, smoky flavor that didn't overpower the delicate, buttery texture of the fish. Each bite melted in my mouth, delivering that perfect blend of savory and subtle sweetness that only expertly smoked salmon can achieve. The Chinook salmon was equally outstanding! Cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. The freshness of the fish really shone through. Paired with their rustic sides, a beer and a really nice outdoor patio with mountain vibes, this was a meal I won't soon forget. Hunter Gather is a must-visit in Whistler, offering a truly exceptional experience that highlights the best of local ingredients. Best of all, they are dog friendly!

Yelp
Great local establishment. Friendly service. Great BBq. Lots of beers on tap. Very casual and kids friendly

Yelp
After driving up to Whistler for the day, we stopped here before heading back to Vancouver. I initially I thought it was the same as a restaurant in Colorado that I visited with a similar name but it wasn't. No problem because the food was just as good. They had several vegan options and I went with the Thoughtful Falafel. It hit the spot. The potatoes were delicious and the falafels were done just right. I've had some that are so dry it's like sawdust but not these. Others had Smoked Salmon. It was not crowded and our food came out quickly.

Yelp
Great addition to Whistler since we were last there! We went out in search of a sit down burger on Main St. We happened upon Hunter Gather where we found a good burger, fabulous wings and a platter of delicious mixed bbq for 2 that would have served 3-4 easily. We left with plenty for dinner the next night. The smoked meats were excellent and the poutine side was a choice we didn't regret. The cornbread was TDF. The ambiance was funky with a lodge vibe of long tables with plantings that likely used to be fire pits down The center. Good beer. Lively service and clientele. We'll return. Bring your hungry boys...

Yelp
Happened upon Hunter Gather whilst searching for dinner upon having arrived in Whistler...just didn't feel like cooking for ourselves. Not having done any research, you can say we stumbled upon this gem. Order, pay, sit, eat..a great concept that should be adopted industry wide. We opted for the BBQ Platter for 2 and the Fish & Chips - that was plenty of food for 4 adults. The BBQ was delicious, the highlight being the pulled pork and the chicken wings. The two sides we chose wer a hit and miss. The green salad was great while the ginger miso kale was not - mostly ginger and missing the balance of the miso. The fish was succulent and the batter crisp. They have a vast on tap selecton, but we did not opt for drinks this time. The room was bustling and was still quite busy when we left around 9pm. Definitely will return the next time we're in the village.

Yelp
They have THE BEST CHICKEN WINGS I'VE EVER EATEN!!! Nice and crispy exterior that deceivingly appears dry, but the chicken meat is very moist and tender. The first flavor hits you with a sweetness that has a tinge of many spices. My first bite literally made me pause, and yell "these are the best chicken wings I've ever eaten!!!" The other bbq is very good too and they offer a large portion for the 2-person meal. Great deal in Whistler! Big recommendation to Hunter Gather....and they do Doordash!
google avatar

Yelp
Pretty good! You have to wait for a table and then you go up to the counter and order. Waitstaff brings out your food when it's ready. Wasn't a fan of my kale side, but loved the burger. Those canned mules were It was very crowded so we did have to wait for a table for about 20 min on a Saturday night. Seemed family / kid friendly. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
The place to go for real meat-lovers! For not too high a price, you get a plate for two that cannot be finished for two meals! Don't forget their draft beer, also fantastic!
google avatar

Bessie C.

Yelp
Came back again this time with the family. They have a couple large tables to fit big parties but don't take reservations so be sure to come early. You place four order at the counter and they bring the food to you. The bbq sample for two was HUGE! Definitely could share with 3-4 people. The salmon chowder was a giant portion with a large filet on top. Everyone enjoyed their food and beer.

Yelp
While we were staying in Whistler, we were right across the street from this restaurant and so we decided to order takeout, we have two kids, so it was the easier thing to do. We ordered the big barbecue dinner that came with brisket, pulled pork, ribs, a variety of sides and everything was OK but not great. The brisket was a tad dry. The pulled pork was actually really good and so were the ribs and the chicken wings. The sides were good but the corn bread was pretty dry but the real rub was the way too sweet barbecue sauce. We are apparently barbecue snobs, but the barbecue sauce needs to be exceptional at a barbecue place. This restaurant seems to have a lot of other items on the menu that would probably be worth trying, but again being barbecue lovers we gave it a shot, and it was only all right. The price we paid, and the quantity of food was pretty reasonable just nothing really stood out to us as being remarkably delicious.

Yelp
Tasty breakfast with large portions. Always packed, so get there early. Felt really healthy and home cooked!

Yelp
Great little spot in Whistler Village. It's a bright, modern space and there is plenty of seating, but it gets crowded in the evening. Staff is incredibly helpful and will walk you through the menu. Loved the brisket sandwich. Tender beef on a brioche bun - it's everything you could want after a long day on the slopes. The shawarma wrap comes in a beautifully soft pita. The jackfruit was tasty, but not my favorite jackfruit sandwich. All of the sides are great. If you're looking for filling, I highly recommend the pemberton potatoes. Make them poutine for +$6, but I think they're great all on their own.

Yelp
Food 3/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 5/5 So ambiance was great, no issues. Service was also good, but its one of those places where you gotta go up to the counter to order, thats totally fine. Food wasn't bad but it wasn't great. I got the spicy chicken sandwich and it was very fried to the point where it was a little difficult to eat. Also the poutine for an added $7 was simply not worth it, I have no idea why it was an additional $7. Makes no sense but whatever and it ended up not being that good. Id consider coming back and trying some other items but this experience wasn't great.

Yelp
Came here for my dads birthday. It was quiet on a Sunday evening. You seat yourself and have to go to the counter to order. The food came out very fast. The staff was inexperienced but very friendly! The food was really good! Everyone enjoyed their meals. Good selection of craft beer, but I wish there was more drink options. Would come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice friendly place. Came in brunch was nearing its end (2:00). We wanted lunch but they hadn't switched to lunch yet so we were "stuck" with brunch. I had the bacon benny. Eggs were cooked just right, runny as they should be. Mama had the avocado toast with fried chicken. Avocado was under seasoned, nothing a little salt couldn't and did fix, but the chicken was perfect. Son had chicken and waffles. He loved both. Daughter had the avocado toast with fried eggs over easy and she love it as well. Would definitely recommend. Not quiet and not loud.

Yelp
Huge fan of this place!! I came with a group of 8 and there was plenty of seating. The breakfast menu has lots of benedict options and the lunch option starts at noon. Would highly recommend and the food comes out very quickly as well.

Deidre D.

Yelp
Fish/chips were excellent, like many stated in their reviews not typical service concept, find your seat, order, pay and your food is brought to your table. We had to find our own silverware, and you serve yourself your own water as well. We will return.
google avatar

Kevin D.

Yelp
This place is so good! They have $5 beers during happy hour, which is a great deal around the area. I came here with some friends on a pretty calm Thursday night. The four of us shared the hunter burger, brisket sandwich, and family platter for 2 and it was more than enough food to have us leaving feeling super full. The food was great -- the patty on the hunter burger was thick and cooked well and the meat in the family platter was tender and succulent. Among all the meats on the platter I'd have to say the chicken wings were my favorite, and although the brisket was very tasty there was a lot of fat on it.

Yelp
I feel like all the good reviews here are for the breakfast/brunch that they do. This review is soley based on my dinner where we chose to order bbq. It was not good at all... We came in Oct 2021 - don't know if because it was during Whistler off-season, the food was also off? We came because it was recommended by Yelp and our AirBnb host but we were sadly disappointed. I ordered the Smoked Brisket Sandwich and the protein was really dry. My boyfriend ordered the Smoked Pork Ribs and it was also extremely dry as well. Dry to the point of inedible but we were so hungry after hiking all day. The potato sides lacked any sort of seasoning and flavour. The slaw fell flat too, 1 dimensional in flavour, was way too vinegary and that was the only thing you could taste. We were just so disappointed especially for the price point. I know you pay more if you're in the village too but this was just disappointing for the quality. I feel like I've said disappointing so many times but it's honestly how we felt. The only good thing I can say is that the beers on tap were decently priced. So if you're in the neighborhood thirsty, do the beers, skip the bbq.

Yelp
I was a little skeptical when I saw the outside of this restaurant, especially when I walked in and saw 3 people working. However, the self serve ordering was very efficient and our server who brought out our food was so efficient, kind and engaging. Food was excellent! It was great portion size for our trip up Whistler hiking.
google avatar

Yelp
We have been here before and loved it / but today it was so/so and though you get ridiculous quantities of food - it's not all great. It was really disappointing and we will not be back! Service is dreadful! That is not unique to this restaurant. Post pandemic, Whistler has been struggling to hire and staff places and we found service lacking in many places. Here you walk in and order at the counter but the girl working there seemed like she hates her job, did not smile or greet us and just seemed to want to get the transaction over as quickly as possible. And when my husband asked for a box, you swear we had asked her to pull her toenails off - it pained her so! They have 12 drinks on tap right now . We like IPAs - they had two and one was not so good. Lots of larger/ gose / sours we are not my thing but that's just a personal choice. The olives were super salty and largely inedible- we left them behind. Hummus was just bland with unblinded garbanzos in it. Our meat eaters ordered the large BBQ plate / they loved the ribs; brisket was not good and was cold as well as under-seasoned. They loved the wings and coleslaw. Beans tasted super sweet like they had syrup poured over then. Coleslaw was great, potato salad had a nice dill taste but potatoes were a tad too raw. Cornbread was dry We had the Pemberton salad which is always good. And the salmon which I enjoyed but again, it was a bit too dry and chewy - almost jerky like. And way overpriced for what it was! It was served with a cold, crunchy potato side. I love kale but the kale salad was salty , and serving it cold was a miss - it was a terrible dish as it had stalks included and was difficult to eat. It falls on the top 5 worst foods I have ever tried. At some point it had been cooked in some kind of oil which had congealed and created a coating on the roof of the mouth once eaten! Terrible. $253 CAD/ $195 was a tough price to pay for food that was great in quantity and that's it. Won't be back any more. Unfriendly and poor food

John I.

Yelp
Interesting mix of tasty food options in a cafeteria styled restaurant. Reasonably priced and portioned for Whistler. A definite repeat for future visits.
google avatar

Taylor L.

Yelp
The food was really delicious and the portions were generous. We ordered brisket sandwiches and a salmon burger. Tons of brisket and it was delicious! We added on a side of brisket for one of my daughters who is gluten free and I was impressed with the amount they gave us for the e price. The whole bill was on higher end especially for an order at the counter type place but what restaurant isn't these days??? I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the area!
google avatar

Katherine Y.

Yelp
This is a great place for BBQ after skiing. We had dinner after a great day on the slope with 3 families. I ordered a platter for the kids and another one for 3 adults and we had so much leftovers!!! The portion is huge! The pulled pork was excellent and the briskets are solid. I didn't know they serve beer flight before I ordered. So if you are reading this, you know you have options. We loved the food the service and the open communal atmosphere. We will be back!

Yelp
Pretty cool little place. Breakfast was wonderful. Our waitress was very helpful, and gave us ideas on what to do in Whistler! My wife had the waffles and they were AMAZING!!! overall it was a great place to start our day at!

Yelp
Great food and great service Nice casual atmosphere Will definitely be back again! Judy

Yelp
Hunter Gather was good! In my one experience at least. First off, the interior is pretty nice if you like that aesthetic. It's got kind of an industrial lumberjack vibe with exposed pipes and wood + metal seating. Personally I'm a sucker for stuff like that, so I thought I'd mention it. Service was quick and good. You order on the mobile app which makes it easy. I got the mixed berry waffles and I'm glad I did. I suppose I haven't had many terrible waffles in my time, but these were really good. They came with the waffles themselves, topped with the mixed berry sauce, ample amounts of some sort of butter, and syrup on the side. I scarfed it down and enjoyed it the whole way through. No complaints from me about Hunter Gather, nor from my friends. Can't remember what they ordered, but do remember they really enjoyed it. Also, I noticed like half the people around me were ordering the Chicken Waffles, but that's not my thing usually so I didn't order it. Seemed popular. Little bit pricey but not unreasonably so especially for Whistler Village. Would go back for sure. Oh, one more note. I hate honeydew and melon and they're always in fruit bowls. This place is not the exception!
google avatar

Michael N.

Yelp
Stopped by Hunter Gatherer for breakfast on the recommendation from a local on our recent stay in Whistler. I was glad we did. It's cafeteria style eating where you order at the till and they bring you your food, honestly I really liked the ambiance. They played great music, and service was friendly and quick. I'm a big boy so I ordered the chicken & waffles, as well as a egg & bacon "Sammy" I loved the waffles but would honestly try something a little different on the sandwich, it wasn't bad by any means but nothing earth shattering. Wifey ordered bacon Hunter Benny and she really enjoyed it. Would return in a heartbeat to try their bbq for lunch or dinner. We'll be back.

Yelp
Love this spot in Whistler Village. This is one of my favorite go-to places when visiting. You don't need to reserve months ahead to get a table (no rez taken), the food is excellent, great craft beer is waiting for you on tap, service is friendly and the value is there. Given it is BBQ, it caters to meat eaters more, but there are plant based options too. I wish there were more casual places in the Village - everything is set up these days for the big spender meals for international travelers and for fast food. You may have to wait for a table, but it is worth it. Or, you can take out and enjoy it where you are staying. Definitely recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the last good breakfast places left in whistler. This place is bright and welcoming when you walk in. The staff were very friendly and helpful. You order at the counter then get a table till your food is ready. Finding a table can be a bit of a challenge during busy times. Our breakfasts were all hot and tasty. It was a bit disturbing that we weren't offered an alternative to canola oil ( allergies) . Everything else was good.
google avatar

Cammy L.

Yelp
Delicious large portioned food. Cozy ambiance. Very well priced. Happy hour deals. Sad that we did not discover this place earlier. Will return every time we are in town. There is enough seating for big parties. The menu is very straightforward. The beer during happy hour is $2 off. Food came out quickly and was delicious. The ketchup was phenomenal and made in house. Loved it !

Yelp
Atmosphere: 0.5/1 Service: 1/1 Food: 2/3 Located in the heart of Whistler Village, this is *the* place to go to satisfy your inner carnivore. Plates chock full of meat and a good selection of beer and wine to go with it! At Hunter Gather you order from the front, then sit down with your number and wait for them to bring it to you. It's a super casual atmosphere that unfortunately misses the mark as it feels more like I'm sitting at a bench at a high school cafeteria than being out on vacation at a nice restaurant. The food was huge, way more than I'd expected! The wings were absolutely delicious, however the rest of the food was about average quality and there wasn't much variety in sauces. Overall I did enjoy myself even though certain aspects did not hit their mark. I'd recommend trying giving Hunter Gather a visit if you're in the mood to stuff yourself with meat.

Yelp
Food is exceptional... something for everyone! Service is impeccable... attentive and helpful Ambiance is perfect for after snowboarding We went back twice because it was so nice. It's the food for me...yum

Yelp
Solid food, pleasant staff, relaxed atmosphere. Felt comfortable & welcoming. Would definitely return

Yelp
I ordered online a gf burger. The waiter told me that the smashed potatoes are cooked in the fryer with other stuff and they were not gluten free. They also did not have gluten free buns. Had to wait for another order to be cooked. Coleslaw had big chunks, was not seasoned and needed more acid.burger was well seasoned. Nice grind on the meat. Also some of the seed on the salad appears to be farro. Celiacs beware.
google avatar

Jeff R.

Yelp
Great breakfast! Had traditional eggs Benny and the ball of potato was nice and unique. Also, the chicken and waffle looked great as was also a great review by my colleague. Opens at 9 am which I guess Whistler doesn't really get going until then or maybe it's just the short staff to be able to cover only certain amount of hours as I would have like to get breaky at 7:30-8 but not a lot to choose from for breakfast options up here. This place was great and staff were super.
google avatar

Zach H.

Yelp
Drove to Whistler and did a quick search Yelp to see what was in the area. Saw this place and remembered reading about it at some point so decided to check it out. You order at the counter and then sit down - they will bring food and drinks out to you once you order. I got the Pulled Pork Eggs Benedict and it was probably one of the best eggs benny I've had. Good portion sizes and great flavors. It came on top of toast with some kale layered in. Good combination! It was a little pricey but it was right in Whistler Village, so I'd imagine most places are like that.
google avatar

Armita P.

Yelp
Got BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich w/ Smashed Potatoes ($19.50) for takeout for lunch. The potatoes weren't properly cooked so I was not able to eat them - they were rock solid in the centre. The sandwich was delicious and the coleslaw paired perfectly with the pulled pork.
google avatar

Miriam C.

Yelp
Cozy brunch spot located in the Whistler village. We ordered the Pulled Pork Benny on Potato Rosti and the Chicken & Waffles. You order at the counter and the server brings the food to you. Easy going atmosphere with friendly service. Both items tasted great - fried chicken was tender and not dry. Portion size is decent as well.
google avatar

Daniel G.

Yelp
This tucked away place is a must stop for anyone looking for a hearty breakfast. A short walk from the Olympic plaza Hunter Gatherer is located near the endive of the village across from Splitz burgers (my favourite place for burgers!) They have plenty menu items to chose from plus a good selection of craft beer. I went with the pulled pork benny on potato rosti with a croquette. My gf had the salmon benny on rosti with fruit. The portions were fantastic and filled both of us up without over eating. The rosti was very crunchy and was complimented perfectly with the kale and poached egg with hollandaise. The croquette was very tasty and also had a great crunch to it. The Salmon rosti was equally as delicious with plenty salmon to go with it. Overall Hunter Gatherer is a cozy place to stop by and have a great tasting breakfast. If we had more time we would of loved to come back for lunch or dinner to check out the craft beer selection as well as what they had to offer for food but we can save that for our next visit up to whistler!
google avatar

Brendan c.

Yelp
Southern style chicken and waffles do not have "hollandaise" and hollandaise should have flavor. I think it's wrong that a third of the breakfast menu is based around their salmon and they let it run out with 2 hours to go. Coffee is ok. The OJ is perfect and they should build menu items around their potato croquettes. Food is fast but I watched my food sit on the pass for 5 minutes as a waiter just talking with people at the bar then took food that came out after mine and service it. I had to get mine own silverware so I guess next time I should just get my own food.

Yelp
This place was magic WOW WOW WOW everything was on point from customer service to actually the food. The taste was amazing again wow and again wow

Yelp
Arrived just before 7PM on a Saturday night and waited for a few minutes for a table. We saw other tables having the farm family platter so we went for the smaller platter for 2 and order one more entree for the family 4 of us (4 adults). We were full and I have to say the platter looked more like for 2 sumo wrestlers as it was LARGE ... the 2 ladies of our group did not eat much but together with the 2 men we did not finish the platter. We did finish the other dish. Ambiance was loud and rustic with all wood/glass decor. My only gripe was that the platter can use the microwave - it was served heat lamp warm/temperature. The beef brisket and the wings would have been super nice if they are piping hot. Would for sure go back if my group is 3 persons and up.
