I had the most wonderful stay here. It is a little slice of heaven. We arrived in time for afternoon tea which we enjoyed in the garden, having been blessed by the weather. The staff are just lovely, the house has a gorgeous atmosphere, and the bedrooms are cosy and pretty. Beautiful flower arrangements everywhere, from their own garden, is typical of the attention to detail. We really enjoyed dinner and then a nightcap by the fire. Breakfast was perfection. I can't wait to go back!!!

Had a delightful stay recently. Everything was charming. Staff were very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Gardens were heavenly. Bought some hand made soap (by Eva) beautiful. Food first class. A very relaxed experience. Would recommend a visit. Catherine Kelly

A warm welcome for our recent four night stay. We had room 9 which was very clean, exceptionally quiet, with a fantastically comfortable bed with a beautiful view over the delightful garden. The bathroom was spacious, I thought the shower could do with an upgrade however, there was a high step up to get into it, which made it a little difficult. We must have been somewhat unlucky, as all the reviews and word of mouth have said how wonderful the food was, indeed breakfast was absolutely perfect as was the afternoon tea, unfortunately, our dinner on the first night was very disappointing, the starters were okay, for mains, both the hake and roast beef were poor. I’m pretty sure we must have been unlucky on that occasion - I certainly wouldn’t let that put anyone off from visiting. My wife and I felt very rested, the staff were charming, Hunters has an old world charm which is one of its great assets, we would certainly return in the future at some point.

One of gods good places. A short trip from Dublin, a kilometre from the motorway, the world fell away and we enjoyed good food, good wine and a gorgeous garden. Sheets are crisp, staff are lovely and good at their job. Only 18 hours here but it felt like a week away

We had a delightful one night stay. Both rooms were spotlessly clean and beds extremely comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and locally sourced. The staff were polite, unobtrusive and very helpful - especially the lady at reception who sent us an item left behind that arrived within 48 hrs.

I just officiated a gorgeous intimate wedding at Hunters Lodge. The welcome was wonderful and personal. The ambience was unique and sweet. It reminded me of visiting my granny many moons ago. I loved every minute there and will definitely return to stay.

We had two wonderful days and nights in Hunters Hotel for a family wedding. Everything about this hotel is perfect, Margaret, Eva and the staff most of all. They displayed that extra thoughtfulness to all of us that I no longer expect from hotels. And this is not a poor reflection on other hotels who are professional and provide a high standard of care.| But Hunters is different. When you drive under the archway and into their parking area you leave everything else behind and give yourself up to their care, the atmosphere, open fires, lovely food, shining brasses, mature gardens. It was like having the wedding at home without any of the work. It may have been our first stay in Hunters but certainly not the last.

Always a treat to stay here. Lovely old world charm, friendly staff, comfortable bedrooms and nice food. The gardens are wonderful, especially in Spring/Summer when you can have lunch on the lawn.

Yelp
Step back in time to this wonderfully snug hotel in Wicklow. I booked afternoon tea here for my mum and grandmother one afternoon. Upon booking they advised they don't sit afternoon tea until 4pm but as it was quiet they'd accommodate us at 2pm. We were brought into the front room where the real open fire was lighting and which looked out into the gardens. Unfortunately it was raining so we didn't walk around. The afternoon tea was gorgeous, a lovely treat, service & staff were lovely, didn't over crowd us and left us in peace to enjoy our treats! Have heard good reviews about their lunches, would be interested in going back to check it out.

Yelp
The food is always superb, fresh ingredients from the kitchen garden in addition to whatever produce is local and in season. The relaxed atmosphere from the moment you arrive, it's a great break from the hustle and bustle. Arrive 30mins before dinner enjoy a drink in the bar where you will be given your menus, then you order and when dinner is ready you will be brought into the dining room. The dinner is excellent value, and there's a superb wine list to go with it and the staff are knowledgeable on this list so can help you choose. The gardens are also beautiful to sit out in on a summer day.

Yelp
Ambience is wonderful. Service is not. Sunday afternoon lunch delivered cold "hot" soup. Plates were cold, however the fresh vegetables included wonderfully hot oven baked potatoes. If you want water, buy by the bottle or order early. After four request from different staff, a jug of water was delivered to already empty glasses that were drying out naturally, after 20 minutes. Pretty gardens and glorious setting.

Yelp
We stayed at Hunters for one night only. Dinner was just ok, I didn't feel it was anything outstanding for the price charged. There was no wifi and a phone in our bedroom wasn't working (we tried to call reception). The room was dated. I understand that it supposed to have an antique feeling, but I thought it looked simply old and I couldn't understand what was all the excitement about in all the reviews I read on Tripadvisor. Breakfast was really nice (although I wished they had beans). Fruit selection was amazing. There is a little room, where guests can relax, with fireplace and some sofas and chairs. It looks cozy. The little garden is very well cared for and is lovely, but it is indeed very small. Had the weather been nice, I imagine it would be lovely to have tea outside, but we were not so lucky as it was raining cats and dogs. Overall lovely place, I just had higher expectations. Would go there for afternoon tea, wouldn't stay overnight again though.

Yelp
Beautiful Gardens, younger staff who served us were polite had two middle aged ladies who were very rude.

Yelp
Charming Old World Hotel , Very pleasant " Snug" Food is good and Wholesome, Gardens are very Pretty in the Sunshine, I like it, it is what I imagined Ireland was like many years ago. Reminds me of the Village in France where I was born. Well, that is all I have to say.

Yelp
good food, great wait staff, snooty, arrogant and inflexible ownership that brought the stereotype of the landed aristocracy to life. it was a very pretty location, very quiet and had the most beautiful of bluebells, but it didn't make up for the way we were treated and the exorbitant prices of both accommodations and food. we felt like we had very few choices: much of the place ran on the policy of "take it or leave it" and there was little else we could do. some people don't mind being ignored but we certainly did. if you don't mind, by all means go. maybe the folks who dish out a great deal of extra money for wine and beer and soda (yes, soda!) get treated better...I don't know. the experience left a terrible taste in our mouths, to speak in a metaphoric fashion.
