'Outer Banks' Film Locations You Can Visit in Real Life
"Built in 1859, destroyed during the Civil War and rebuilt in 1875, this lighthouse was repeatedly shown and used as the filming location for the fictional Redfield Lighthouse's interior; the surrounding state park served as the filming site for the Boneyard and the beach-cleanup scene in Season 1, Episode 3. The lighthouse itself is currently closed to visitors due to ongoing repairs, but visitors can still approach and learn about it from docents outside the structure." - Andrea Romano

Beautiful State Park... The park has a nice museum which has some interactive opportunities and the lighthouse area is stunning. There us good parking and restrooms. We also enjoyed the large beach.

Love this place! The drive back to the lighthouse is picturesque. Great walking beach, shells, shark teeth, coral then water to rinse your feet

Very pretty. We were a bit disappointed because it was closed when we arrived. It was under construction.

A beautiful lighthouse next to a very gorgeous beach. Yeah, you couldn't go in but I was still happy to see it.

The lighthouse is closed for remodeling, but the grounds were well kept and the volunteer guide was AMAZING! He had a wealth of knowledge about the area and history as well. Very interesting and beautiful. The beach was beautiful as well and not crowded at all. There was a fee to get inside the state park but it was very cheap and well worth it. All day ticket was access to miles of beach and not lots of people there.

The area was really pretty. Unfortunately the lighthouse is under renovation so it was fenced off. The island and water is very enjoyable and their were showers to rinse the sand and salt water off. We even got to see an alligator in the water we were swimming in! Would you get out?!

Located inside Hunting Island Park we drove through until we reached the lighthouse. Unfortunately on this day it was closed with scaffolding up as it is under renovations. The gift shop nearby was open. There was picnic tables located at the base that people were eating at.
We loved our visit to this Park so this will be the first of many visits. Next visit I hope to be able to go inside and will thank you do an updated review.
